If there are bronze worm gears in that drive, I'd use GL 4 gear lube and not GL 5...that's what I use in my MA-210 Snow Cannon. GL 4 is hard to find, but I found it locally at a marine supply...it's from Mercury Marine used in MerCruiser lower drive units. That Commercial 40 has lot's of life left in her...great find.
Nice find! I like the Commercial 40, even though it doesn't cut like a 50". It's a well built mower.
Yeah once I have new belts and the new pulleys I will mow a larger area with it.

Yeah all steel no bronze. Thanks for watching
Nice score. Don't forget the grease fitting on the swivel casting. PaulL
Yeah did that off camera it pumped a ton out the bottom
Just got a 40 inch love it !
Looks good!
I don't see the discharge. That means it may be good for grinding up leaves❤❤❤❤
Theoretically in the front like the 30” brush hog
How much did that deck cost? If you don't mind me asking. Or how much is it worth
Over the years I’ve seen $75-$400. I bought and sold one at the Gravely mowin bought for $75 then sold 16 mins later for $125.
