- my overview of pico connect software for pico 4 and pico neo 3 link- although not available from pico for this headset- it does work!
pico connect replaces streaming assistant, there are a few settings explained and compression and latency covered, the visuals are lacking but there seems to be some performance available to push this further.
very efficient access to the desktop from within standalone, but pico connect has no keyboard, cant pair a bluetooth keyboard or mouse to use with pico connect..... .c'mon pico!!
while I won't share the apk for pico connect, I imagine its already available online if you search for it, or you can pull it from your pico 4 if you have one.

Thanks for explaining the settings and your findings - Will give it a try for my Neo3 Link, as that driving sim PC is lower spec GFX card. Looking forward to your video on Pico 4 with this and tips for optimising image quality
There is a virtual keyboard you can bring up by pressing a button on the controller

Your timing on this video was perfect. While I really wish they'd just make it available on the PN3L without having to source the apk separately it's nice that it at least works.
Yep, I don't understand why it's not marked as compatible, it even lists the headset correctly in streaming program, Pico baffle me sometimes.
@@virtuallyreal My guess would have to be either they are worried that PN3L support will harm P4 sales, or they aren't comfortable with its compatibility yet. I hope it continues to improve though because the "official" wireless option for the PN3L is pretty bad. I'll have to try this out because I'm really wanting to get an acceptable wireless setup going.
@@Mad-Lad-Chad I'd honestly just have VD as the wireless option, it's a fantastic application.
@@virtuallyreal Yea I actually had planned on bugging you on the discord server soon because I finally will have time in the coming weeks to sit down and mess around with headset. I am just hesitant to buy the app when I don't even know if it'll fix the issues I'm having.

hey do u find the pico neo 3 link to be "shaky" at all? If so how did u fix this? I love the image quality of the HMD but whenever i look around i get a weird shaky jitteryness that breaks the immersion for me.
On the pico 4 i had problems with the connect software with several steam games while installing it showed not compatible with the processor Intel core i 7 13685hx
With virtual desktop have been no problems at all

my steam VR doesnt launch into that VR space, anyway to connect it? or restart it?
I really miss having the overshoot adjustment in Virtual Desktop. The overshoot is something I noticed when playing games on the Pico after using the Rift CV1. Also, I wonder why the developers of Pico Connect haven't just added an option to set higher resolutions and encoding parameters, if this is the only slightest thing that is holding back the image quality

XR2Gen1&2 has its own limitations....If you put much more than 150Mbps, the Pico chipset won't be able to decompress the signal..
By the way, i had up to 170Mbps on the mine....I don't know why it varies compared to the fix value of 150 selected.

Yes but very awkward when it's attached to the window you look at rather than comfortably near you

Virtual desktop is wireless only ( or ethernet ) it doesn't support usb streaming
Do you think PICO Connect is a worthy upgrade over Streaming Assistant?

sadly i dont have 5ghz router, am I forced to buy a new one to be able to play comfortably? is latancy and connection with cable actually worse than internet?
For wireless pcvr, a good 5ghz setup is the minimum requirement really, it doesn't have to be any particular brand of router, but a well configured one preferably free of congestion (change channel to one that's free and not overlapping other devices in area)
Usb streaming will avoid such requirements but obviously ties you by the cable to PC, it has the same restrictions of bitrates so would still function the same as a good wireless setup, with a very slight edge to transmit latency, not particularly noticeable though if you have a good WiFi setup

With changes in new guide I uploaded it can look alot better than this video covers, virtual desktop will still offer the better visuals overall, but that is a paid app.

If you have updated to latest Nvidia driver, this is known to cause black screens in VR, try go back to an older Nvidia driver and see if that helps.

how are you showing the performance menu? I have no settings for it
It should have the option to enable performance graph in the pc software
But you can enable and disable by long pressing the left 'back' button until it appears/ disappears.

Neo 3 pro does not have consumer store, you will need to look to owomushi website on how to do this and region swap if you need to.
fuck im so disappoiment with Pico PCVR support software.I use Businsess streaming which supports all methods,usb,wifi,Dp on one programm.VD is more advanced on all aspects.We need openxr pcvr support better.Hand tracking for pcvr for flight sims.Do you have any upgraded Business streaming version for pico 3 link i have the first version.

If you have something like an AMD apu, disable the onboard graphics in bios and try again.

@@kon1351 if your cpu has on board graphics, yes.
Check your windows task manager, if you see in the performance tab, you have 2 GPUs listed, one is your graphics card the other will be the onboard graphics.
You'll want to disable the onboard graphics in PC bios (so long as you don't have extra monitor plugged into your motherboard)
if you use pcvr dont not update to this firmware you lose rvrplugin rendering it useless for most uevr mod games you cant adjust the bitrate so are left with blurred garbage and cant roll back
@FarmerJoeCC08 yeah that may be the case but i need a higher bitrate than 150mbps to play games like skyrim vr and modded res evil village unfortunately those game suffer from bad blur due to low bitrate of the pico 4
