Me watching corridor videos: Wow, Jake is so old, he's like the dad of the office
Me finding out Jake is only two years older than me: 👴
Exactly the same !!! But he looks way older… sorry jake
And i thought it was crazy to find out that Dean is my same age
They gotta plug the cast on the other channels I bet so many new Crew viewers would love this.
True! I always heard about the podcast but it wasn't plugged as much as they probably should. A lot of hidden gems and nuggets from these casts!
They have kinda said before that in a way they like this being low key and how It's like a hidden hangout spot that's not actually hidden and the people who find it, find out about cool things before everyone else
Everyone always treats Jake like the old guy.... Then I realized we were born in the same year... Damn
I agree that expanding or moving to a new studio or building should be more intentional. To be specific, you have to have a clear roadmap of what you're going to do with that additional space. Like Fenner said, growth for the sake of growth in this case i.e. expanding for the sake of expanding can be dangerous if not done or handled correctly.
way to make fe feel super old guys... born in 1978. my first CG was running raytraces that took all day on my pc that had no network connection of any kind. pre-dial-up ;-)
My lord i was born in 89 and I feel old haha
Waiting 24 hours for my Atari ST to churn out a super low res render that looked awful... Fun times!
1973 😊, my first 3D software was Truespace, and then 3D Studio Max V1.
83 here and now feel fucking ancient
'83 here, time flies.
That Corridor Crapp (nice name btw) was a great idea, I think. I'm a new member of the website and my favorite videos are the one where the crew's personality shine (right off the top of my head are Clint's Chai Tea, Wren's getting pranked, Jordan's dance bit, and the latest Corridor Coup). You're talented VFX artists, of course, but you have more than that to leverage on :)
I love this podcast. It is very relaxing to hear you guys just talk about the things that inspire you from day to day. Keep on doing what you do, I'll be here to watch and listen.
Definitely the best group for the podcast. Super relatable as a 1999 man myself. The hour flew by
It's remarkable to see Corridor evolve with fresh new ideas and minds
After watching Love and thunder, I just sat their just to see Fenner's name pop up. Who needs the bonus scenes when you can see the recognition of Mr Rockliffe
I can’t wait to see the saga of Lawyer Jake litigating against WB
That freestyle blessed my ears
Jonah is only 23?? I’m 23 too and i’m kind of jealous, he has such a full beard.
YES THANK YOU JAKE AND TEAM FOR SHOUTING OUT SOUND
ITS SO IMPORTANT
Talking about dnd and the deeper subcultures of that fan base. Even though most audience members might not understand the importance of a particular spell or magical effect that was cast, mentioning it for the audience that does understand can do so much for our enjoyment.
What comes to mind is in Dungeons and Daddies, which I think is OK to mention (if not let me know) there was a situation when the DM was giving a description of an incredibly high level spell called 'Distructive Wave' against a mid level party and it had me on the edge of my seat. They didn't even need to say the name of the spell and I was already hooked as to what happened next. So small things like that, that can still provide a good story telling experience for the general audience, well giving a tense surprise for the experienced players. It is a difficult line to ride but worth the payoff when done correctly.
Corridor Crapp Channel could have viewer submissions too! like once a year you do an open call or something idk
I think Corridor Crude would be a great outlet for all those wacky one-off ideas that would never be viable for a full produced video. Reminds me of the older Corridor videos like Footloose where they were just experimenting with new tools. It would also be a nice way for website subscribers to use our producer points on more than just 1 greenlight option.
I'm just about the same age as Jake, definitely funny when he called out 86 and they all got excited, lol.
Always fun to see y'all kids talkin. Got my first PC in 1990-ish, so more of a BBS era kid and in like 2-3 years internet became more prevalent here with Usenet newsgroups, IRC and demoparties (basically LAN parties with coding, music, digital art competitions) being my jam.
I believe the chords Jake was playing at the start are the same progression as Riptide by Vance Joy, fully expected them to break into it lol
i would absolutely sub to corridor crapp
Corridor Crapp is such a good idea. It's almost like an alt account that people use to spam. Definite subscriber here
Jake is 5 years younger than me!? Feeling so old right now.
My god I’ve never been this early… Podcast time!!!
Omg Jonah's younger than me??? Dude's never been carded in his life 🤣
Learning Jake is a year younger than me is both so aggravating and so elating. Aggravating because he's done so damn much more than me, and elating because this little bastard still looks older than me.
Haha, you're 10 years younger than I. I startet in the mid 90th as Intern in an animation Studio for medical and scientific animations and worked with 16mm an 35mm film and litrely had to cut and glue it together in the editing process.
Now I'm feeling old.
0:15 this sounds like the song that plays when vader is burned
75-85 is the "microgeneration" Xennial. We had to be early adopters to have the internet even in dialup form, but we could.
we want Corridor screwed or Corridor Crapn channel !
I'm so happy that HBO Max craps out on others too. I always wondered if it was just me.
I absolutely love the idea of the crap channel please do it
Corridor Crapp needs to happen
86 here too baybeeee!
Watching a year later and thinking…Dean is a prophet.
would you do a dedicated Functional Filmmaking ep about sound? 👀just putting it out there
Baby boomers
are the people born following World War II from 1946 to 1964. Increased birth rates were observed during the post-World War II baby boom, making them a relatively large demographic cohort In the U.S., many older boomers may have fought in the Vietnam War or participated in the counterculture of the 1960s, while younger boomers (or Generation Jones) came of age in the "malaise" years of the 1970s.
Generation X (or Gen X for short)
is the cohort following the baby boomers. The generation is generally defined as people born between 1965 and 1980. The term has also been used in different times and places for a number of different subcultures or countercultures since the 1950s. In the U.S., some called Xers the "baby bust" generation because of a drop in birth rates following the baby boom
Millennials,
also known as Generation Y (or Gen Y for short), are the generation following Generation X who grew up around the turn of the 3rd millennium. This generation is typically defined as those born from 1981 to 1996. The Pew Research Center reported that Millennials surpassed the Baby Boomers in U.S. numbers in 2019, with an estimated 71.6 million Boomers and 72.1 million Millennials.
Generation Z (or Gen Z for short and colloquially as "Zoomers"), are the people succeeding the Millennials. Researchers and popular media typically use the mid-to-late 1990s as starting birth years and the early 2010s as ending birth years. Pew Research Center describes Generation Z as spanning from 1997 to 2012. Both the United States Library of Congress and Statistics Canada have cited Pew's definition of 1997-2012 for Generation Z.
Generation Alpha (or Gen Alpha for short)
are the generation succeeding Generation Z. Researchers and popular media typically use the early 2010s as starting birth years and the mid-2020s as ending birth years. Generation Alpha is the first to be born entirely in the 21st century. As of 2015, there were some two-and-a-half million people born every week around the globe, and Gen Alpha is expected to reach two billion in size by 2025.
Jonah’s like a year older than me and that’s trippy…. The beard really sells that he’s older
Gen X - 1965 to 1980
Gen Y (Millennials) - 1980 to 1995
Gen Z - 1995 to 2010
Gen Alpha - 2010 to 2025
Does anyone remember where niko talks about watching thr world burn?
you guys should do a satellite office in the OC
I cannot believe I am older than Jake! 81' baby!
With switching studios due to space, Iunno, I definitley think wait that one out. Jake knows more than me on this for sure but I just feel like at worst, the office starting to feel cramped, it wouldn't be ideal for sure but i think you gotta wait it out a little longer.
At worst things getting slightly cramped would just be something minor people mention on a glassdoor review kinda thing
maybe my input is bAd SORRY
I like the CorridorCrude idea btw, i've wanted to see you guys dip your toes into more experimental stuff for awhile and that sounds like a really smart way of going about distributing original content while keeping your bread and butter the main channel stuff.
I don't like the idea of it being called Crap. It just sounds kinda vulgar and unprofessional. CorridorCrude gets the point across pretty well. It's essentially the "Scrapped Folder" from deviantART it sounds like to me. Also also Jake the other day you mentioned you were organizing videos by category. So like, all your archery videos all your.... sword based videos etc. That feature, as someone who likes to learn more, you could kinda sell you platform as a light learning application kinda thing. Try to figure out which Corridor videos have the most informative elements and either feature them or boast about them in the next podcast. When I have money i'll probably subscribe im just between thing rn
For videos that were essentially on the cutting room floor and in cold storage, that would be great!
However, for 'newer' experimental content to be put out requires additional resources to be allocated to do them. I feel like that might impact their current release schedules both in the main channel, corridor crew, corridor site shows, crew cuts, and potentially contractual stuff they have going on in the background. Even then, for the pre-existing videos, they'd likely need to hire someone else dedicated to handle the cuts and editing.
But hopefully they find some middle ground. I look forward to see creations by other crews!
@@RaiOkamiI disagree, its a fine idea. It seems to be about having a space for individual crew members to post their original work. I imagine that could vary from "low-effort doodles" to micro-passion projects. I don't see how it'd mess with the pipeline, the art pieces (or whatever ends up being made) would be done in freetime, and there's no quota any member is obligated to reach. It's like an Instagram feed for the employees, thats all it would be.
Maybe i'm misunderstanding what theyre referring to in this podcast. From what I believe I heard, it sounds like a good idea.
@@Ryan-hj8il You pretty much got it correct. I responded too early (my bad!). I initially thought it to be specifically outtake (or compilation of some sort) kind of videos which would still need curating. But from what I also understood, it would just be -- as you said -- some random stuff they made and goofed up with up to bigger creative pieces that may or may not fit in the main corridor or crew channels.
And yes, CorridorCrude sounds much fitting.
@@RaiOkami No problem at all. Totally random but I'm watching Ozark right now and its brutal but good.
Seems Gen Alpha is the follower to Gen Z. Never heard that one before.
Holy hell I grew up in rainy river
I have a question for everyone, what film do you think has the best soundtrack?
Guardians of the Galaxy
I was thinking of Highlander, nearly every song is done by Queen
@@TheWelshdragon1982 or Flash Gordon :p
mabye make it like the corridor creaitve fund. where you signal boost small creators works from inside or maybe outside of the company.
i'm the same age as Jacke ? :o ... i thought he was 10y olders then me , haha
Most satisfying Rube Goldberg bone breaks
A buddy of mine had a great idea, he said he would create a second channel to copyright claim his video on his main channel right as you upload it. I don't know if or how exactly it would work but it had some merit so I thought i would share.
I think this actually works, as weird as it sounds
FUCK, I thought I was younger than Jake.... Also your guy's land lord is super chill, and loves creators! So maybe he has ideas for you all, or a pathway to getting a solo building?
Gen Alpha comes after Gen Z. Guess we're just going through the Greek letters now.
I am here for the birth of Generations Beta and Gamma and possibly even Delta.
I was born 87..I don't feel old but ..age experience is a bit subjective or mindset.. but ofc ur body will deterorate aventionally.. especially if u feal old and stop moving..
Jake, please, if you’re reading this…. Please tell me that when you said, “get you something, real nice 👌🏻” it was a National Lampoon’s reference 😂😂
Oh it was haha
Corridor Clips.
The next generation will be known as generation “glass” or “transparency” according to some people
the Corridor Crap idea is awesome but what about Corridor jank
Jake, your children and mine are both Gen Alpha
From what I've been reading, after Gen Z i'm seeing it most often called Gen Alpha (born 2005ish to like 2015ish). So i guess whatever general lettering they're going on starts over.
if everyone collectively avoided a mild bodily injury event at some point prior to the curse, you may have a final destination situation on your hands
Generation Alpha is next I think
Corridor slides into Hostel territory with the bone breaking LOL. But also...a Corridor Crapp channel sounds like the shit.
Damn I am closer with my age to Jake than the other guys, I wouldnt have guessed (I guess I don't want to accept I am ancient 😂)
Im late to the party on this episode, so did the Corridor Crap channel happen or something else spawn from it?
Cool, Jake and I were born in same year, we're definitely millennials, but on the cusp
But man who worked on Natalie's hair when she had the helmet on?
I heard someone call the next generation "Zoomers" the other day
Eff me I'm old I was born when the OG Star Wars was released
#shoutouttodave
I can't believe I'm older than everyone other than Jake. I always assumed I was younger because they make me look like a child
Ren is....Mr. Glass
I’m th The lan gen, now is the lonely gen. 10 friends before you was a kingdom, now under 100k online friends you have a pickup line that never works.
All these Dudes/Cats are new born"s. I was born in 1959.
9 7 5 what the frog.. makes me feel bad that im like not even close in terms of skills yet a little dang older
Corridor needs to do like LTT and buy their own building.
I'm pretty sure the generation after z is generation alpha.
I think there isn't an unanimous agreement, but it doesn't varies a lot on defining millennials as people bor between 1980 and 1994. So Jake is a millennial.
I don't think we'd be allowed to label Jake's kids generation
As long as the Simpsons don't predict WW3 we're good, right?
I'd have sworn Fenner was 30.
I’m so confused you guy’s are so young but look so old!
Bro I’m only one year younger than Jonah, what the hell
Now, what does dumdum Niko think about phone surveillance after all that DHS junk
the generation after 2010s is generation alpha. and the generation of the ww2 is the silent generation they wen through the great depression and ww2 in childhood, the greatest generation is the one before that one , they fought in ww2 and went through the flu epidemic in the 20s
first
The generation after Z is Alpha. My youngest sibling falls into that category.
Was Fenner responsible for Natalie Portman's CGI arms?
21:12 No, it's called: "bad screenwriting burnout"
It’s also a Disney burnout since they are making the same decisions with the Marvel Cinematic Universe as they are Star Wars.
Don't worry guys Warner Brothers is literally incapable of making good decisions, you will win. And Corridor Crapp would be awesome lol
that idea of a new channel is pretty crappy. I’ll edit the crapp channel😉😂
What the…
You guys look 30 and are basically 19?!
Fenner’s hot that is all
WB is the worst 🙄
What is after Gen Z is Gen Alpha, it's starting over
i mean that what steroids will do for ya, that physique is not possible naturally
Gen Alpha comes after Z and I consider anyone born in the 90s millennials
Jake is an older millennial not gen x. People born between 1981 and 1996 are millennials
