Hi James, thanks for a terrific review - much appreciated. Hey, weathering isn't that difficult really, just a matter of taking the shiny plastic body and making it look old and used, ie realistic. Usually, you can just dust on some chalk, in the yellow, orange and brown end of the colour spectrum, then shoot some plastic friendly clear coat out of a rattle can to preserve it - it's fun and easy and effective! Keep using the chalk until ur happy with the look, then lock it in. Anyway, great video, thank you, Murray.
Thanks for doing this overview very informative. As everyone I've watched WPL grow in leaps and bounds in the RC world. It would seem that they are listening to there customer base on changes that will improve the truck over all. Thanks again😁👍👍
Thanks for the kind words man, they have grown a lot indeed. I think they are listening, and won't be surprised if they get into the hobby world soon- seeing the trajectory of their development. Thanks again, hope you enjoyed the review!
Thanks for the nice comment! Indeed the shocks were the biggest letdown, otherwise it's a fantastic rig! I look forward to hearing your thoughts on it too!
Thanks. Just ordered mine. Appreciate the informed review. I may message you for help, as I've never put one together. I own a full size FJ40, so that's my interest.
That's fantastic! If you could open an account on RCGroups then there's the option of PM over there.. and there's a thread with many other C34KM owners
really nice, i think its more 1/12 than 1/16 scale and i like it because more good figures will fit the cabin. good review bro! i will definetly take the metal one
Agreed! Definitely not a 16th scale, Haha. Thanks for the nice comments man, Yup I need to buy a little figure for the C34KM too! The metal one is definitely the one to get!
hi there thank you for posting this video, i was going to use this model maybe to convert a single axle old 60s tonka dump truck, could i ask you for the width and wheel base of this model, id like to see if it will line up with the tonka, thanks nice detailed video here :)
I’m thinking about purchasing one of these for my kids. I know the kit is under $100 but how much money in accessory do you have to add with it to get it able to run and drive? Any information would be great and much appreciated
Hey Ttct50, you'll still need to purchase a battery, charger, esc, rx and tx to complete the set. I'd say probably 50-60 dollars for a decent set but pricing may vary depending on what setup you go for
@@Longsheep the website says it will ship after the 9th🤞. I hope it does lol. It wasn't the case for the mn model mn45. Have to wait forever for that so I cancelled because I dont like my money tied up for that long.
Hi, did anyone of you perform the Pre-order WPL C34KM at Banggood? I have paid from the first day April 22 that was announced on the page and now it indicates SOLD OUT, and they have not sent me anything.
Hell yeah, btw thank you for posting this video , I’ve been dying to lay eyes on this beast , unfortunately I think I did order the c34 rtr instead of the c34km which I now understand stands for the metal kit .. lol all is well thou I’ll just have to upgrade it my self I guess . This was my first wpl purchase so it was a bit of a learning process.
@@greasetits3 I'm glad you liked the content Andrew. Even if you bought the RTR, I think it'll still be much better than the previous RTRs. I heard somewhere that the C34 RTR comes with a sound box? That'll be really cool to see! The only thing would be that it won't be waterproof :(
Chen James man that would be cool, and yeah I have heard from a few sources that this rtr should be better then the others. So I definitely got my fingers crossed, also I’ve been watching runthatrc’s videos on how to water proof with plastidip, so I’ll probably be using that method I think.
Nice one. She's a sweet little thing for the money. Shocks need to go - the rears don't look straight when it was on your bench which means they may bind - but yeahman, cool stuff.
Great video did you end up using the shims that came with the kit I just received my 34 and built the axles Mine is also the KM I can’t wait to finish it my C 14 KM the axles are a perfect operation them not the pinion but the other gear ring gear
Excellent job on this video, new sub now. Is this truck come where you have to build it piece by piece? also does I come with a receiver and controller? Thanks, Donnie
Hey Donnie, thanks for the kind words! Yes this is a kit that you'll need to build from the ground up- There is a plastic version that comes with everything prebuilt but if you'd like the durability seen in the video, the metal kit is definitely worth the extra investment in my opinion. cheers for the sub and please do let me know if you've any other questions/concerns!
The chassis itself is waterproof and so is the brushed motor. The servo seems water resistant but I'm not sure if that's just my unit, as it isn't officially waterproof from the factory. On top of what's in the kit, you will need a transmitter, receiver, esc and 2s lipo+ charger to make it run. Hope that helps!
I think they may have given you the wrong measurements to use on the rear links. The driveshaft angle looks way too steep. I'm surprised that you aren't having a lot of binding. Regardless, it's a cool truck at a good price. Thanks for sharing!
Yeah I thought the angle was a little weird too but looking at the prototype photos they seem to be at the really steep angle as well.. odd design but it works I suppose! Thanks for the kind words!
Thanks man, many brushed ESCs are waterproof by default but with Rxs the easiest way would be to use a balloon. There are systems now that are waterproofed from the factory, which makes life a whole lot easier!
@@Longsheep another method is to use rubber cement or candle wax. I let the wax just drip and harden around the RX and put tge case back on after cleaning off the excess wax. Rubber cement just brushes on.
Actually it's got no diff at all! Just two bevel gears that connect the driveline directly. Not a lot of spare parts and hop ups available yet as this is still quite a new truck but I think we'll see a few options real soon.
@@willp6067 I think it's because of the slow shipment times and if parts are missing, they're sometimes hesitant to replace them... So that's a risk in purchasing from these online drop shippers.. I believe they all suffer similar problems unfortunately
It really depends on what electronics you have in it. The chassis and the motor is going to be fine underwater and the servo doesn't seem to mind water in my testing (though it isn't officially waterproof).
I have subscribed to your channel. Your video is clear, well edited and announced. Great work! Thank you
Sorry about the late response! I really appreciate the kind words, Bob!

You gotta change the spring in those shocks to loosen them up a little bit

Is the steering control proportional?
yup the kit version uses a hobby grade servo
nice, wpl have upgrade chassis, for more steering angle its nice !
Indeed, a huge improvement over previous WPL trucks!
You could of only had it a very short time. How the heck did it get rusty so fast?
I did a lot of runs in water with a bit of salt content.. and the screws weren't galvanized or anything, so they oxidize VERY easily :(
