Hi Mpumi! This is gonna be those essay paragraphs people hate so much but please read it all, even if you have to take breaks in between.🤭
I’ve been searching for you for so long on this platform and I came across your content today cause my algorithm must have caught you and I’m grateful it did. Before landing on this video I skimmed through the others because there was a specific thing I needed until I made a stop on this video cause it was the one I’ve been looking for-
I’m 24 and did some diploma in journalism(wasn’t sure of what to do) and although I never pursued it, cause I had no interest in mainstream journalism, I’ve always liked writing since I was around 9. I wrote poetry , music, short stories, drama scripts(also used to ace oral speeches) but I still never went into writing anything professionally. I only wrote something when I felt like it but as a job, I’m now realising it seemed tedious & not exciting to me & perhaps that’s why I resisted pursuing journalistic jobs and the likes of it, but somehow I was still convinced that I’m meant to be in something that has writing in it cause I thought well, it’s my “passion” so obviously it’s meant to be my job.
But like you said , nobody cares about what I have to write if it does nothing for them. It’s true, they are indeed a lot of singers who we don’t care about because we don’t enjoy their music and so we don’t reward them with our attention and streams , that was a beautiful analogy . You’re truly made for this! You’re making me confront some truths, I think I’m having an epiphany that although I may like writing poetry in my journal or notes app or even songs, it’s really just hobbies and that’s that. And doing them doesn’t even mean I’m actually good at them. In all honesty my writing is actually just average or even below par by some standards, nothing exceptional, most people can do it-I’m not a writer actually, I just enjoy writing amateurish poetry that talks about my feelings that’s that-I’m admitting this for the first time cause funny enough I never even thought about it. I needed this but Nobody could relay it to me so succinctly, not even the career counsellor I once went to . This has made me feel like my life is about to change and I’m about to have direction finally! I would appreciate assistance cause I’m not sure of what to pursue. If there’s a way I can get in direct contact with you please provide me with the details, I’ll appreciate your assistance very much.

Some things are timeless, some things are transient, and these have to exist together.
Purpose is timeless, and remains true throughout your existence.
Passion can be a transient expression of purpose based on available skills, networks, gifts, opportunities etc. As these grow (especially through intentional personal development) so can one’s expression of purpose grow… 15:46
