My commander cube got played for the first time last weekend. I tried to establish 10 archetypes and have some support and payoffs in each colour. The commanders per guild and shard cover a wide range. Thankfully it worked well! Everyone had smooth decks. I'm cutting some duds for more ramp now
In the WotC-designed sets, you have to draft your commander, and stick to its color identity. This can be tricky, so the first time they did it they seeded each pack with a “The Prismatic Piper”, a legendary creature with Partner that only costs generic mana and lets you pick what color it is. They also made sure to include plenty of 3 color commanders.
I do not play Gruul a lot, but I find that there are some good paths. Lands can be super broken, like RG tricks+dragons, and I have heard discussed to avoid storm. I think a lot of times I see removal with damage via spells or fight spells, shatter effects, and then big payoffs with mana and the biggest creatures for the mana. Vorinclex is a good gruul card, the best in a way haha. I think we touch on werewolves here, but beyond that, the tribe i like for gruul are dragons. The blue or black section of my cube might get the biggest creature on stats and effects, but Gruul has the biggest creatures for the resources available, like Old Gnawbone, Manaform Hellkite, Goldspan Dragon, Terror of the Peaks, etc. Stompy is a cop out like counters for WG. Tricks are awesome for creature decks that have access to dorks, and it gives a great synergy for spells decks as well. I miss hearing this regularly. Thanks again!

Thank you for answering my question you helped me out a lot
Nice content, i realy loved the feedback questions : )
How do you determine a commander if you are making a commander cube?

Another way to do it could be to have a mini-draft to pick a commander before you draft the cube proper.
This is great!
