Thanks so much for posting this video. We were on the train and I noticed you at most stops. It's great to watch this, knowing that I was in one of the carriages. Cheers, Jan
Gosh I wish we had data on how fast these locos could go. I know the Ka classes could get up to 75mph but I can't find any kiwi locos that go faster and this is the only one except for the Kb that I'd think could do it.
@Rawrnz My dvd productions are going great! I've just finished my 7th dvd last week which is a cab ride from palmy to makatote (ive put a few short clips of the ride on here). I'll probably do another cab ride dvd soon but im working on finishing my 'King Country Rails' dvd at the moment which will replace my central plateau trains dvd. Thanks for asking :)
@Crintingnut yea, i went and saw steam inc train a week earlier, shame about the weather and the slips.... what do you plan on running up there? kiwirail loco or your own? oh spelling error fixed ty
Superb collection! We are heading to the art Deco in 2011 - lookng forward to the Steam Incorporated contribution. PS Sorry to be picky but you might want to edit the spelling of Gisborne.
Funny at 2:30 the regulator is out and theres absolutely no smoke, then the regulator is turned off, and theres smoke. Its supposed to be the other way 'round haha.
Beautiful Gloria! Bring her back to Auckland for the Mystery Creek Fieldays,so miss steam up here.
I'd SO love to do that trip

The J classes were built for speed. Off the top of my head, J1211, Ja1240 and Ja1275 could crack 80kph
track is only 3'6" wide. That limits speed.
@@michaeltb1358 Christchurch to Timaru holds the speed record for the J classes. I'll try to find it
@@michaeltb1358 Not really. It's engineering, necessity and loading gauge that limits speed.
haha. no problem, hope it was as much fun on the train as it was to follow it.
0:35, that must've hurt.
I remember riding on these when I was a kid.
