- Let me share what's been going on lately.... We've got a new laser engraver enclosure, new wax pots coming, I built a cheap and simple bed and let's talk some homeschooling too. Also, any recommendations for editing software?

We are so blessed having computers to do homeschooling or any teaching on. My son is now a Software designer, code writer and I put him on my computer when he was about 3-4 years old and everyone was horrified he would break it or it would "damage" him. But they learn the fine hand-eye coordination of using a mouse so quickly and I had some super educational dvd's they could watch and educational games etc. So no internet, just good quality educational games and information. The only way he could break it was by pushing it off the table lol. But also in moderation as children must play and read as well and mine, like me, are voracious readers!
The bed reminds me of the beds we make at a charity called Sleep In Heavenly Peace and delivering them to needy children.
Yes this kind of build would be great for that - cheap and fast to put together, yet super sturdy.

RE: Video editing software, I know DaVinci (from BlackMagic Design) has gained a lot of traction and mindshare as an alternative to Premiere and Final Cut (on Mac only). What's "more" interesting is the integration, or friendliness between Blackmagic Design products. If you don't have a big investment in BMD hardware that's fine too. But I would add BMD just released a camera App that U.I.-wise mimics :100: their pro-camera U.I. on actual physical hardware cameras. So that's a plus. And also Davinci was ported/re-written to run on iPAD!!!! Which folks really took as a threat to Apple and it's iMovie/Final Cut video editing heritage. So Davinci is "growing" and Blackmagic Design generally growing as well. And there are lots of Davinci tutorials (probably more every day) now that people are migrating off Final Cut on Mac.

I can't offer advice for editing software, but I doubt you'll find anything that will be "forever" software - Windows updates changes what software it supports. Our lab data systems had to be changed at least three times over a 10-year period because of that. Best wishes.
Yup, I'm not expecting a forever software.... but something that will be good for the next couple of years would be good. 😁
