Congrats champ! You rode so well - your cues looked nearly invisible and soft and your lower leg was solid. It feels like just yesterday you were learning to canter. You’ve come so far. Great work and congratulations on the ribbons! 😊
You should be so proud, you only started learning to canter a little over a year ago and now you are winning champion at your first show! Well done, your progress is honestly astounding
Great job! It was only 4ish months ago when u had your first jump! And only 1 moth ago when you had your first ever canter into a jump! You’re an amazing rider Clara. Hope your journey continues well. I’ll make sure to keep updated with your videos I’m very inspired by yo and your work!❤
Congratulation, Clara! You and Daisy did so well! I've been here since your first 500 subs and seeing you improve through the challenges then having these highs make it worth it!
oh my gosh clara!! i’ve been with you since you had 725 subscribers! i love everything about your video’s and so glad you learned to jump and congrats on your horse show! you’re a big influence on my horseback riding journey thanks for everything you do and keep going! i’ll always be there to show you my support!
Good going! I've been thinking about how to show you how to feel your leads in canter. This is gonna sound a little goofy, and it'll look a little goofy if you do it in public, so be warned. You're doing this without a horse by the way, so you can do it anywhere. I don't know if you've just been working on following with your seat or influencing. Walking and trotting feel very similar on the horse or off, but bigger. The suspension phase of the canter is where you feel the lead, so get in riding position, then mimic what he does with his front legs, with the suspension phase. Don't step further with your "outside" leg than your lead leg goes, so you're kind of loping along. When you get comfortable doing that, look down at your hips and feel the way they move. Do it on both leads till you get the feel of how your lower body is slightly rotated to the outside. You'll be more on your inside seat bone, so you'll feel yourself moving toward the leading hip. Just that little diagonally push toward that hip. That's where your lead is. If he cross canters, you'll feel yourself moving toward the outside. Hope this helps. It's harder putting this in writing than just telling or doing it in front of you. Plus, it would be tricky to do that with a walker. One other thing that might help to try: When you are warming up, let him stretch out in canter down the long sides, then collect him up across the ends. You'll feeling the lead more when the stride is bigger, plus it'll get him listening to you because you keep changing it up. Not slowing him across the ends though. Same energy, just make it rounder. Have Fun!
That’s actually a genius way to practice without being on the horse! Thank you that’s so cool! I will definitely try practicing at home and see if I can feel it in the saddle next time. Thanks so much 😊
It's great that this show has so many beginner gradations. Allows for lots of practice in the ring. Congrats on your successes! Thanks for sharing with us.
I love how you get to do a horse show on Dasiy and hope you have fun I love you and Daisy together I love watching your videos keep up the good work and I also ride horses as well
Thank you !! She’s a very smart girl and already knows I’m gonna be asking for it 😂❤️ she waits for the cue but the second I ask she’s ready to go! Aha
Ahhh!! I know I’m late to this video I was getting pet portraits done of my dogs! You did soooo amazing!! This reminds me of my first show! I was 8 and I got all blue (first) place ribbons except for one 3rd place and I got Champion!! I was also on a like 16-17hh horse! You did soooo good Clara!! First horse shows are always nerve racking but you get used to them the more you do them! You and Daisy are definitely a perfect pair!! When I saw the blue ribbon i thought you got first and then you said you got second and I was confused, because in the US blue is first place! I can’t say this enough but you did sooo amazing!!!! I’m sooooo incredibly proud of you! You are an amazing rider and you always will be!! I wish for my shows they let us canter one at a time! I remember my show with a horse named Aspen (I have a vlog of it) I went to the show expecting not to even do a class because it was his first show and his first time off properly in 4 years! I did a practice class and he did pretty good with a few spooks! Then we did some classes and my trainer asked if I wanted to only do the walk/trot or the walk/trot/canter and I did the walk/trot/canter classes because he did pretty good in the practice class and the warm up! Then my 3rd or 4th class we got 3rd out of 7 and I was so shocked and so proud of him! I thought I got last again then they called my name and number and I immediately gave him so many pats and hugs because I wan not expecting a ribbon! To say you did incredible in such an understatement!! You are going to do so amazing when you do more shows and at higher levels!! I hope I can do some shows this year but I have to find a barn! Keep it up Clara!! ♥️♥️
Omg that’s amazing!!! You absolutely killed it at your first show ! 😍 and wow that’s a big horse to show. Yes in Canada red is first and blue is second! I had no idea it was different in the US, that’s interesting. That’s amazing! Sounds like you did so good 😊 thank you so much for the kind words! The best of luck to you finding a new barn!!!❤️❤️
AH CANT WAIT TO WATCH SOSO EXCITEDDDDD!!!!!!! Edit:Omg u did absolutely amazing!!!!! Especially becoming champion anc those pictures of u and daisy❤❤❤❤

i am so proud of you clara. you did amazing!! ❤ my first ON property show is this coming friday!! i am so excited! ❤ congrats again i am so proud of u !! 🎉🎉
My first horse show was yesterday so I have had 5 lessons ever but my teacher says I’m as good as some of teh people doing it for 1 year anyways here’s my places. The way I squealed when I actually read the title is haunting me for some reason it’s my first show season my 4th show is aguest you inspire to keep going thanks love you (not in a weird way just you know)
I literally started riding quite a few weeks ago and I've always wondered... How do you sit your first canter? 😭😭😭 I literally am so impressed by advanced riders
And if you notice your heels slipping somtimes thats just time in the saddle, keeping ur heels down is the hardest so dont be discouraged if you cant keep them down!
@sxd_starlight838 omg trust me same! When I first started riding I couldn’t imagine how one sits the canter. And when I started cantering I was like how do people keep their stirrups 😂it takes a lot of practice! You’ll be cantering in no time 🥰
MY FIRST OFF PROPERTY SHOW WAS LAST WEEK! I didn’t really want to do 2 foot but it was so fun! Love ur vids btw! (It feels like we are learning how to jump higher and do off property shows at the same time lol-)
You should have seen it a year ago 😂 it’s still not as stable as I would like it but it’s come a long way!!’ Lots of no stirrup work helps for sure! 🫶🏻
i like doing no stirrup work and also i focus on pushing my thighs and knees into the saddle and using that instead of the stirrups. it really helps to just focus on keeping your heels down and your leg right where it needs to be!
Good job Clara! You put down the jump class so much I thought you were going to fall off or somthing when to be honest, it really really wast that bad 😂 I’ve seen far far far worse! Wd to you and daisy tho ❤🎉

I literally started riding quite a few weeks ago and I've always wondered... How do you sit your first canter? 😭😭😭 I literally am so impressed by advanced riders
It’s like scooping the saddle with your seat
You just anchor your heels down (sink ur weight into them) lean back amd relax and drives ur hips down and with the motion! Hope this helped!
And if you notice your heels slipping somtimes thats just time in the saddle, keeping ur heels down is the hardest so dont be discouraged if you cant keep them down!
