Ugh. I miss growing Asiatic hybrid lilies. Realistically, I love vicariously through these videos because there are so many things I can't grow because I'm limited to containers on my balcony.
Oh I was like jaw dropped with the camellias blooming crazily behind you .Such a lovely idea to plant Galtonia candicans in between. Would love to see the final outcome. 🎆🎇🌠😁😁😍🥰
Thank you for your great comments. The rhodos are fab in bloom. I was just noticing how those lilies are so much taller this year. I guess they needed the first year to find their feet. You can expect them to be featured in a garden tour, hopefully soon.
Cannot wait to see how beautiful the oriental lilies will look with the galtonias. And how lovely to see the garden robin come by to see you work as well. 😍🥰😘
I live near the mountains here in South Carolina in the states and tiger lilies grow wild here and are one of my favorites. Good video and content thanks.
I've been planting my fall bulb varieties and as I cover them over I put a sprinkle of vermiculite around in a loop, to show where I just planted. This lasts awhile so if I come back to plant more I can see where I planted.
Lilies are wonderful plants!! I only got two bulbs this year, to see how they will go in my container garden, hopefully next year I'll get some more. I'm really looking forward to seeing yours bloom!! How will you keep the beetles away? Have a wonderful day (or night)!! ☺️
Hello Valia. I just discovered your channel and subbed. Love the illustrations. The plan for dealing with the lily beetle this year is a daily patrol and catching of them. I already found a few this year!
@@GardeningatDouentza the day after I wrote that I actually seen the first cardinal beetles if the year. Two pairs caught in the middle of mating. Glad I stopped those few from producing more 😁
Yes, my garden is open a couple of times a year to the public and also to groups by appointment. I post the open dates on the 'community page'. Obviously there will be no opening this year.
I am pretty sure that bird was trying to work out how much of your hard work and effort he can get away with stealing lol you have to keep an eye on those little buggers.
I like how the little bird was keeping you company.
Always welcome. Thanks for watching.

I am not sure if that is good or bad but I will assume good. I bet you have the choicest things on your balcony!

How wonderful. Tiger lilies are so beautiful.
I like the orentpets a lot. Same fragrance as oriental on a vigorous plant.
Thank you for sharing! I now have an idea of what to do in my front garden! Cannot wait for the blooms!❤️
Me too. Thank you for watching and have a great day.
Hi friend nice tree video and your all video see

Sounds like a good idea. If you mark them then you're less likely to disturb them.
@@GardeningatDouentza I've been enjoying your videos, thanks for all the info!
Those lilies will be gorgeous!! Going to have to look that variety up for here. Just finished planting 20 or so myself of mixed varieties.
Delicious 💐
Robin approves of your trench method of planting....
Thank you, Robin!
I've always loved those, my grand parents had them in their garden and they smell absolutely heavenly! Thanks for sharing :)
Yes, I love the scent. I feel so sorry for people who are allergic. Thanks for watching,

i have some tower lilies last year had problems with scarlet lilly beetles
The lily beetle is a real pain. I will be on lily beetle watch soon!
Those fecking cardinal beetles absolutely savaged my lilies last year. Not this year, I will keep looking out for them and remove any I see
That's the way to do it!

I have sonme Star Gazers. Is it too late to plant them now, or should I wait until Fall? Thank you
I would plant them now.
Here in India lillies have already started blooming
How wonderful! They are such a great plant.
Question for you, is your garden open to the public sometimes? Thank you

😂😂😂
It isn't a question about lilies, I'm just wondering why the tree behind you needs a scarf? 😉
Haha. It was chilly of course !
I've planted Turks cap lilies last fall. Is it safe to plant them with oriental and asiatic lilies in the same bed?I've heard they carry virus.
Lilies can carry viruses that will infect tulips too and vice versa. I never heard of the Turk's cap ones being more virus prone than others.
@@GardeningatDouentza thank you so much for your reply.
Hi! Do you have Crinum latifolium builds for sale?
Sorry, no
Should look nice
Thanks
do you succession plant?
Of course
What happens when a lily is killed to the ground by a late freeze or eaten to the ground by a deer?
I imagine that if the bulb is still intact it will attempt to regrow but I don't know what it might do.
lol
Как же лилии в такой плохой твердой земле у вас будут расти? Удивительно.
The soil is good and nutritious once plants are established in it.
