I can remember being in Akron in 1977 at the yard.
Besides a bunch of NW power and such,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,The switch stands still had those markers mounted on all the turnout mechanisms. What a sight!
All the colors showing through those glass lenses.

For a moment I thought there was going to be a truck train Collision. Ive never been to Akron but that's a substantial trestle inside a city. Some neat .old factory buildings in the background plus those elongated forward and backward moves plus a good view of the stone company's Switcher. That also is an impressive Corridor they run down I'm sure it must have been really hopping back in the 40s thanks for all those new views

Very interesting. It was nice to see a couple Rio Grande hoppers in the consist. It's always nice to see a freight car still in an old road name livery. There's not many of them around anymore.

Seems some long distance shoving moves involved. Nice to see the old Geep playing its part enthusiastically.

Thanks for the great video, Scott. It's good to see that there's still some work getting done in Akron.

That ABC conductor needs a raise for riding that shove! When I worked for Conrail we use to get a bonus for riding a shove more than a mile.

Stone ? ? ? What's the final product? Various sizes of crushed rock? I think not judging by the appearance of the 'raw material' which strangely enough appears to be 'crushed rock". Cement?
Wonderful video as per usual Scott.

It’s limestone that comes from the quarries at Carey Ohio where it is crushed and screened to various sizes. It appears the customer has a batch plant for making concrete and possibly used is asphalt also.
