Sometimes simple sincerity triumphs over words we have heard again and again. This game tells you and convinces you that the pain in your soul is more often caused by yourself and you have to get past it. It isn't necessarily cheesy because it works hard to drive that message home and it doesn't feel like cheap words from a stupid cat poster.

I would love to see the full VOD of the final run released, maybe in little chapter-based episodes! Also, I *loved* the explanation for the Chapter 3 boss, that was an ingenious strategy!
God i love this game so much, its one hell of a trip gameplay, theme, visual and everyother way wise but what speaks to me then most is the ending We are flawed as that is what it means to be human and there will be some amongst us that stray far from the path of goodness and seek to plunge the world into darkness but all the same as long as we move forward with hope and courage to face those evils we will always prevail. Or you know im overthinking shit but all the same i like the idea of it
This game is an emotional roller coaster, while I didn’t do a challenge on your scale of starting a new profile, I did do the grand slam achievement with the “Rot Squad” team, which has no stress healers. It initially started off as a meme as I felt like running my main blight back line of Plague doctor, grave robber and flaggelant, but on a whim playing denial I decided to change out MAA for Leper. To say that this journey was just that is an understatement, depending on enough laudanum to have my party fighting in a drunken stupor half the time along with the ever present threat of any simple resistance encounter turning into a fight for my life if the Pale lady decides to say hello. But through copious amounts of luck and support I managed to discover uses for a lot of combat items, skills that I never use, and trinkets that seemed niche. Eventually culminating in my final battle being a success, beating the grand slam with no stress healers.
Love how this video transmits all the emotions you were going through in that moment! Such a good produced piece of content. You never fail to surprise me Otz

I remember being there for this stream and hanging on the edge of my seat every moment of it! And i still cant get over just how *amazing* the act 5 boss is- not just from a gaming perspective, but from a narrative perspective too! His attack using the hero's backstories against them is so unique and probably my favourite part of the entire fight.
Seeing oatzy explain his "the new plan" at 11:12~ish reminded me of using float ring against the giant eyeball boss in ff5 t-rex earth dragon in ff6 that if you had float rings equipped would just permanently be stuck in a loop trying to remove float from you but because it is from an accessory, can't be removed thus making the fight really easy, Or the shield mage exploit in dragon age inquisition, when you pick the magic class( I haven't played inquisition in a while so I don't remember much but I do remember the exploit, you could eventually upgrade to a class that specializes in the mage shield and whenever your magic sword skill hits an enemy it builds your magic shield and so long as the shield is up you cannot take damage so as long as you keep attacking,which is easy as you aren't being stunned out of attacks because of said shield, you never die basically Or the optional elemental boss dragons in bravely default all their attacks are considered physical for some reason so the ninja class can just constantly activate the dodge one free physical attack buff on themselves while slowly chipping away at the hp of these infuriating bosses and just never get hit
To add to the shield thing from inquisition, it only protects you so using it will most likely get your party killed but you can solo anything using it
@@notOtzdarva I was curious ,in dd2, is there a way to heavily punish enemies if they have too many positive tokens? I am watching this and am about at the end of body of work phase 2 and that thought came to mind, if the boss likes to steal positive tokens why not let it have all the positive tokens you can generate and then punish it with a characters skill or a trinket that increases damage on enemies by certain amounts the more positive tokens they have that would be awesome

Massive GG WP to you for this I JUST beat the game a couple days ago, just in time for this. Honestly it's so incredible, I was scared that the final boss wouldn't live up to the hype of DD1's final boss, but it really delivered and I was sooooo fucking hype to hear DD1's final boss theme make a comeback. And the theming of the boss condemning a hero to death, but instead they're condemned to relive and overcome their trauma, that shit just hits different.
I had a run with a trinket that converts all dodge tokens to crit tokens. Put it on my graverobber and used the buffed consecrations from vestal to ensure she always had crit tokens every turn. Absolutely fantastic combo there.
cant say how happy I am to see more vids from you about this game, always brings me back to your dark souls days hope youll consider to play armored core 6 and/or remnant 2 also, would love to see you play both. Seeing you play souls likes or very difficult games is always very special, some kind of nostalgia for me because of your old vids I guess, the (no hit and no death runs) love your videos otz .
I had only played a bit of the first game, so I wasn't really knowledgable about the intriqite aspects of darkest dungeon games, but the video was made in such a way that I had no problems in following through. Nice

Thank you otz of the strat it help a lot on the ravenous reach it helped so much that no one died even with a not so good boss trophy (harvest child max hp and reduced death door) update I’ve just beaten the last boss while they where buffed by the mountain with zero hero deaths
I used as many noise makers as I could get my hands on and kept taunt on the flagellant to make sure he was the only one with tokens. Then just let his usual unkillability tank the boss while everyone else murdered it. And added some of the blood to the leaper to deal a chunky 1/4 of its health per turn.
Still in the intro to the video, and it's giving me some "Dark Souls II all bosses no hit" vibes. What with the super commitment/desire to a "perfect run".
I'm a bit of a completionist so I replayed the first area till I got the Jester and upgraded him till I had all his skills. Can't remember the names rn but 1 skill puts him in the front of the line with a lot of defensive tokens and lets him use an attack on his next turn that does an insane amount of damage even without buffs. I'm surprised I don't see more builds with it but so far his playstyle of jumping around his allies to attack is fun for me.
I’m really enjoying dd2 right now but I wish some of the boss mechanics were clearer, for example the tangle dungeon boss with his vine mechanics. I had no clue my first run that the vines were tied to the position not the character, resulting in me losing a very good run due to the game not showing it’s mechanics well
I also had many problems with the Focused Fault, even with a pet and flame on my stagecoach. But the way Ive managed to beat it was: Occultist-HWM-MAA-Hellion. Occultist and HWM with more ranged damage, MAA with Sergant, Hellion with Ravager. MAA kept guarding the others, while HWM used caltrops to get rid of dodges, and finish off the eyes. In the end, my MAA had all the seen tokens. Sadly, he died at the point where FF had half its hp left. From that point on, I somehow managed to take multiple hits, while my Hellion and Occultist kept bursting it down. Only my HWM survived, and he was at Death's Door, but the weakened didnt stop his Double Tap from dealing the last 6 damage (literally the minimum he could do there). It took me like, 10 tries at least. XD
pretty sure they buffed act 3 boss. It starts as big eyes now. N u have to kill all to summon focused fault. 1 of the big eyes whichever goes 1st marks random person in ur party n this process repeats until all eyes are dead.(u hit eye clusters n they shrink until dead). Then focused fault comes n it can just mark anyone anyways with a observe.
Hey Otz, have you considered making a DBD style guide for DD2? I tried getting into it but its overwhelmingly difficult and cos of that also not really fun when the game just stomps on me over and over, and to start off the game can be daunting for a new player with what to unlock first, hero powers and abilities and some set ups that might be useful for early game
I'm so looking forward for any future DLC...

this game really just ended with "the indifferent cruelty of the universe vs the indomitable human spirit" meme

I tried getting into it but its overwhelmingly difficult and cos of that also not really fun when the game just stomps on me over and over, and to start off the game can be daunting for a new player with what to unlock first, hero powers and abilities and some set ups that might be useful for early game
I recommend a guy called @ShuffleFM. He did a lot of stuff for DD1 and is making guides for DD2 as we speak, he already has a great deal of DD2 stuff.
