Would it be weird if Québec separate from Canada but stays in the commonwealth, driving canada away from the united kingdom and closer to the united states? Btw, that's something that almost happened in the 70's, the united Kingdom was willing to arm and train Québec forces if the federal gouvernement of canada would not respect a vote "yes" to leave.
Due to the fact that Quebec is surronded by New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Ontario Quebec would not survive "technically" survive on its own. But would essentially be at the mercy of the Canadian govemrent in terms of imports Canada could cut them off from the outside world whenever they want. Unless if they want to ship through Canada which would most likely cost them. The alternative is to become more favorable with the US with the Lacol / Snye land borders and others but 1. Importing on land is more fuel consumming then on water even when compared to International imports. And 2. Relying on the US isnt the greatest option either. A "independent" Quebec would only be independent in name but in reality would be at the mercy of its surronding new neighbors like Canada and USA.
@@sans_hw187 no they wouldn't. Maybe the portion going into Ontario but the Nova Scotian and Newfoundland Labrador Border almost touch tips at the start of the St Lawrence going in. So if Canada wanted to in this hypothetical they could cut off the St Lawrence. Nova Scotia and Newfoundland are Canadian Provinces it isn't the "outside world"
@@sans_hw187 also this doesent even bring the point that an "independent" Quebec probably wouldn't stay the same size as there are still alot of English / First Nations communities that would not want to live in a Independent Quebec. The portion of Quebec that would actually be "independent" would be the strip of French cities and towns along the St Lawrence like Montreal, Quebec City etc.
@@PressXtoDoubt why on earth would Canada act as a dictatorial rogue state and place a naval blocage? That would make them the worst losers in the world. “Boohoo Quebec broke up with me I’ll make them suffer”. No such thing would happen.
@@sans_hw187 blocking a river doesent make a country a "dictatorship" they could still allow US and Canadian ships through but probably wouldn't go well considering Quebec would own the St. Regis / Snye parts of the St Lawrence as well so who knows of US and Canadian ships would pass through there. But again. Ya this is really unlikely in the highly unlikely Scenerio of Quebec "independence". When I wrote that I'm 90% sure I followed it up with "in the event of a worst case scenario or relations becoming so poor" or something. Like if they really wanted to Canada could. Obviously Canada being a friendly country and wanting more focus on Economic growth that would be unlikely.
Yes, but that would also be like Elon making his entire net worth in profit every year. So it is impressive but nowhere near on a country level. A nation, province, or state spends their entire budget.
Also Canada would be smaller than USA without Québec

But would essentially be at the mercy of the Canadian govemrent in terms of imports Canada could cut them off from the outside world whenever they want. Unless if they want to ship through Canada which would most likely cost them.
The alternative is to become more favorable with the US with the Lacol / Snye land borders and others but 1. Importing on land is more fuel consumming then on water even when compared to International imports. And 2. Relying on the US isnt the greatest option either.
A "independent" Quebec would only be independent in name but in reality would be at the mercy of its surronding new neighbors like Canada and USA.
What? You realize that Quebec would control de St Lawrence right, they couldn’t be cut from the outside world.
Make a video about the first Bulgarian empire reuniting
You can title it ,, What if the first Bulgarian empire reunited today?"
The Maritime Provinces would also maybe join the USA or Quebec because of how isolated they would be if Quebec had left
Atleast I found out that my province is the third most populous
I’d go live in Ontario
Same I’m Canadian not a Quebecers

Jesus, "Just Infront of Elon" just proves how rich Elon really is.
Yes, but that would also be like Elon making his entire net worth in profit every year. So it is impressive but nowhere near on a country level. A nation, province, or state spends their entire budget.
And its why the world is so fucked.
