In this video I demonstrate how to properly replace the front brake pads on a 2003-2006 Infiniti G35 or Nissan 350Z (nearly identical procedure). This video shows the process on a 2006 G35 sedan. This is an easy task if you have the required tools, and should only take you 30-60 minutes.
I am using Akebono ceramic pads, which I have been using on my family's vehicles for the past 8 years with great success. Low dusting, no noise, good longevity, and reasonable initial cold bite if bedded in properly.
    Torque specs:
    - 18-22 ft-lbs for front slide pin bolts
    - 113 ft-lbs for front caliper bracket bolts (you shouldn't need to touch these if only replacing pads)
    - 80 ft-lbs for lug nuts
Be sure to properly bed-in your brake pads after installation, especially if you are not replacing or resurfacing the rotors at the same time. A proper bed-in will not only ensure the greatest stopping power, but will also reduce the likelihood of a condition commonly mistaken as "warped rotors." If you are interested in the details, the below article form StopTech does a great job explaining the importance of bedding in your brake pads.

I didn't know about pressing brakes at the end to return calipers to touch pads.guess that's why my accord feels funny on the brakes since I replaced them.going to be doing the G this weekend.thanks.👍

Thanks for the video!! Saw exactly what I needed! Anyone know why the bottom slide pin has that rubber sleeve? I was changing the pads and the bottom slide was seized. I could see that the boot had come unseated and it was a little rusty under. It would still spin but it wouldn't move at all in or out so I had to pound on it to get it loose and got it out to see that rubber sleeve. It had a little tear on it. It wasn't sliding back in easily so I came online to see if it was not supposed to be pulled all the way out.

What is considered "moderate driving" to bed-in? Because once I do this one Saturday morning, I've got to do some highway driving for an hour later that afternoon. If I don't slam on the brakes while driving on the highway, will that be considered "moderate driving"?

You might need a long handled wrench/breaker bar.
If you turn your wheel outward, it'll free up space for the longer wrench.

@@timwong3532 Hi Tim. Thanks for the video. 5 hours later and I finished my front brakes and rotors on my 2003 infiniti g35 sedan :(. The caliper guide pins were completely seized and not moving and required a blow torch and some immense muscle to get undone and lubricate. The entire assembly was pretty rusted which made it alot harder to do. And when i put my brake pads into the brake hardware they did not have any springiness even though i threaded them through that metal piece. I changed the rotor and pads because I was hearing a rhythmic scraping sound and i assumed it was a warped rotor. Well, upon replacing the brand new looking brake pads and slightly worn rotor I found that the sound is still there :( Any thoughts? Im thinking it might be the dust shield scraping along the inside? Otherwise im completely lost as to what it could be. Im also hearing a really intense grinding sound from the rear and im not sure what it could be! Are you able to do a video on the rear brakes and parking brake system? Thanks again for the helpful video, i referenced it throughout this ordeal :(

Why would you put new pads on without resurfacing the rotors, you will get uneven wear on the new pads.
