Excellent video buddy..I was wondering which color profile should i use in nikon z cameras for these luts to work best with???Flat/Portrait/Standard??? anyways keep up the good work..
I'm sorry I didn't get to you question sooner! I created the correction LUTs to work best with my custom "Simulated LOG" profile, which is linked at the end of the video. However, it is essentially just a super flat profile - so any of the normal colour profiles will work, you will just have to reduce the strength of the LUT.
Hi there. Can i ask you one question? Will using N-LOG and the free presets help me towards my B&W that i record in. I only have an instagram account where i take pictures of cows and max 5-10 seconds videos of the cows? Am i going a bit far with N-Log and just stick to what im doing. I’m using a Nikon Zf. I’m after coming across all this N-Log stuff and im finding it a bit confusing if im honest. Can anyone guide me if reading this? I dont use and 3th party softwear to edit my videos just the photo app that comes with my iPad or maybe Lightroom but my go to is IPhotos. Love from Ireland 🇮🇪 andrew.
Your ideal workflow may not be to use any kind of LOG or RAW. Do a test and see if you like how it turns out and if the workflow is something you enjoy. Ive always liked Nikon's B&W colour profile. Do you have better control over the image if you do the B&W in post? Yes. You also have more flexibility for the for repurposing the footage latter in full colour... but is it right for you? Only you can know.
@@DallasJyl thank you so much with the help. I just post my B&W on the iPad in IPhotos. Think I’ll move over to capcut or Dvinvi when up garage to my MacBook Air.
@@andrewhoulihan7940 iPhoto is nothing to be ashamed of. It may have advantages for you in a faster workflow than CapCut or DaVinci can offer. If your wanting to do any editing though capcut and DaVinci are going to be worth learning!
I don't 🤪 lol. Maybe I should? But as I understand it, I don't think it is as important for compressed footage like H264 as RAW codecs (or maybe multiple codecs with different colour spaces) - as long as you have the correct colour space settings set for the project. For mac Rec.709-A is a must if you don't want your gama to shift like crazy on export!
These recommendations are cinematic gold! Thanks for supporting the nikon community.
Thanks for the encouragement @petersuvara !
Thanks for doing this. I'm still learning how to do these things with my z30.
You're welcome @Blohme_official ! :)
