Deception was one of my first video games period. I love Shujinko, I love his mantis stance, I wish we could get him in later games. Imagine the money too! They could sell all his ages as skins, then put him in other characters outfits!
give us sassy old man shujinko. it can breath fresh air to see another light hearted mentor. usually friendly but serious when its neccesary he can say its from the chaos realm where in a messed up way he learned to find comedy in some situations. maybe even crack a dark joke. and in his defense with mileena tricking him. back then the only way to tell mileena from kitana was to look at her face and shes wearing a mask. hell kitana in some arts has mileena deception outfit but in blue. so mileena would know how she dresses.
Deception may not be the best written game by an incredibly wide margin, but it was the first MK game that really hooked me because of that konquest mode, Shujinko's story deserves a lot more love despite how poorly it was told My favorite part of his character is how he's a huge fanboy of Kung Lao(of 'The Great' variety), and his base fighting styles are the exact same ones that Kung Lao(the 'not that great' one) had in Deadly Alliance. Incidentally, he also taught Li Mei several of her fighting styles before the events of DA
I adored Deception, and loved playing as Shujinko. It was fun to watch the events of the games through his eyes. The modern games treated him so terribly, he deserves so much more.
I actually think Shujinko is a good character. That fact that he can just copy any move of any fighter by just watching at them make him really versatile and powerful. If they redesign him and make a moveset combining different attacks from the other fighters he would be a very interesting character in MK 12.
Shujinko is really relatable because the Onagas of the world deceived him into thinking that giving the Kamidogu is for the greater good. What makes it sad is that Dark Raiden (and then Cassie Cage) killed him even if he corrected his mistake and killed Onaga on his own. Then, in the new timeline, Kung Lao's arrogance pushes Shujinko to become greedy and power-hungry, making him a major threat to the realms. He was subdued, bringing him back to the beginning of his training.
I would really like to see shujinko coming back. He deserves to be a part of new mk game not only for the astounding conquest mode but us a character so kind and naive.

And like he said, even the Deadly Alliance got tricked by the Dragon King into rebuilding his army, and even Raiden pitting himself and all his heroes in fighting the Deadly Alliance unaware that the Dragon King is waiting to strike when both Earthrealm and Deadly Alliance are weakened. Onaga was waiting for that moment and deceived everyone to fight each other and return when everyone is weakened. i think that was a good elaborate plan of his

Shujinko taking Bo Rai Cho’s spot as mentor to the next group of heroes would be fun, especially because Bo Rai Cho is way worse in every way. They did shujinko really dirty in MK1 as well old version is a really situational kameo that requires 400 iq to use and young one was relegated to an ending
Check it out - Bring back Shujinko. How people hate on him is beyond me. They all say “He’s a dumb, naive stupid head for helping Onaga.” Shujinko met Damashi at around 13 years old. Before that, he only dreamed of becoming a Champion, hearing stories from others about the tournament, foreign realms and train to be the greatest of all time. When the little boy meets a larger than life entity, possibly his first interaction with something as mystical as Damashi, claiming he’s a servant of the Elder Gods and wants Shujinko to be their champion? How can you blame him? The idea of Shujinko is amazing. A warrior who goes around realm to realm, training and training with beings of all walks of life from their respective worlds, sounds badass. At the end, he’s the ultimate master of skill. He’s so powerful, he shatters the Kamidogu, powerful artifacts that contain essence of the realms. He even defeats Onaga, correcting his mistake. What a beast. Not to mention, he was top tier in Deception. Respect Shujinko, put him on the main roster of MK1.
Thanks for summing up my entire point in 10 secs, Dawg. While I won't take hope away from anyone, NRS has destroyed my faith in them respecting their own characters. It is so dyed in the wool with NRS ny now that no one, but me even really cares, but still. I would say I rather Shujinko not return because we all know NRS would absolutely guarantee have him walking home alone late one rainy night; he slips on the muddy road, falls face-first, breaks his hip, and drowns in a puddle...I WOULD say that is the reason I don't want him appearing in the future, to preserve his legacy...but NRS, as they are want to do, beat me to his character assassination anyway. As I said before, out with the old, in with the new, logic be damned.
We've had character's that were only playable for just 1 game that was Kung Jin, takeda and ferra torr and the rest were npc li mei, Sareena, smoke, stryker, reptile, ermac, cyrax and sketor.
6:22 that’s not actually true, Mileena fooled the entire Edenian army with her Kitana disguise to lead them against Shao Kahn’s remnant forces instead of Onaga
Considering that MK12 is probably coming after the reset from Liu Kang's ending and the fact Shujinko was taught under the same master, it would be nice to see him again but altered in a way to make him a bit more interesting same powers though. We don't have a proper playable character who is the stereotypical old master in majority of the games would just love to see him rewritten in that light. AND especially since the reset sees Liu Kang as the god figure instead of Raiden, could be interesting to see Shujinko brought back as the main protagonist how Liu Kang used to be. Multiple reasons and thoughts to bring back Shujinko in some form but all very doubtful with how they treat him now, still hold hope that the reset brings him back cause it is a reset.
unlike most who hates him, I like Shujinko. He was one of my fav characters back in MKD and MKA. and contrary to general hate, he was actually a decent character with a good moveset and a well written background. Deception was one of my first video games period. I love Shujinko, I love his mantis stance, I wish we could get him in later games. Imagine the money too! They could sell all his ages as skins, then put him in other characters outfits!
Taven and Shujinko are very underrated
I really miss playing Shujinko as a kid. I really hope he comes back.
I honestly like and respect Shujinko, they did him bad in new timeline , I hope in the new game he gets the well deserved recognition
Fujin: The Best God in Mortal Kombat History
His ending is by far one of my favorites in 11.
give us sassy old man shujinko. it can breath fresh air to see another light hearted mentor. usually friendly but serious when its neccesary he can say its from the chaos realm where in a messed up way he learned to find comedy in some situations. maybe even crack a dark joke.
and in his defense with mileena tricking him. back then the only way to tell mileena from kitana was to look at her face and shes wearing a mask. hell kitana in some arts has mileena deception outfit but in blue. so mileena would know how she dresses.
Deception may not be the best written game by an incredibly wide margin, but it was the first MK game that really hooked me because of that konquest mode, Shujinko's story deserves a lot more love despite how poorly it was told
My favorite part of his character is how he's a huge fanboy of Kung Lao(of 'The Great' variety), and his base fighting styles are the exact same ones that Kung Lao(the 'not that great' one) had in Deadly Alliance. Incidentally, he also taught Li Mei several of her fighting styles before the events of DA
I adored Deception, and loved playing as Shujinko. It was fun to watch the events of the games through his eyes. The modern games treated him so terribly, he deserves so much more.
Shujinko is my boy one of my favorites and now he gets shit on.. I hope he gets some love in the future
Small note: Goku was actually taught the Spirit Bomb, he didn't just see it once and copy it.
Right, he was also taught the kamehameha by master Roshi.
@@LloydSkyLion Nah, that one he did in fact just see once and figure out on his own after a few minutes.
10:14 “Beverly girl committed hate crime claims Asian man are identical, more on twelve”
I actually think Shujinko is a good character. That fact that he can just copy any move of any fighter by just watching at them make him really versatile and powerful. If they redesign him and make a moveset combining different attacks from the other fighters he would be a very interesting character in MK 12.
I like shujinko, playing as him from a kid to a old man was fun and cool.
I think what really soured Shujinko's perception to the public was honestly ScrewAttack's Top 10 of Worst MK Characters
For real, they just sell you Shujinko as a blander Liu Kang with one of his worst atribute is that he's being old
I love Shujinko. People need to start putting respect on my boy's name.
The conquest mode was underrated I loved how you could run around and go to different realms. Made some of the lesser characters more character development that added to the lore”
Shujinko deserves better.
Man gave his whole youth.
shujinko is the real G man, playing konquest with him while he is growing up was realy cool you got a realy good overview about the other realms and l would like to see a remaster version of it or a game thats similar loved the konquest mode
@@mkfan6167 Sbujinko must return in MK12 his gameplay would be amazing like kung fu style
@@mkfan6167 i dont want to Talk About The Story Here in general i just liked The Konquest Mode and it was very cool to See all realms by my Self of Course you can judge The Story but you can do that in every mk Story xD just i liked this game and im thankfull for the work that was be done
@@mkfan6167 I dont Know what you mean his Main Mission was to get all kamidogu , The First Story in netherrealm was That shujinko helped ashrah to find ermac she needs to kill him to get her soul clean to be able to Leave ,but i dont Want to get into that Now. And The second Story in netherrealm was that shujinko got helped From nightwolf to clean his soul from darkness then damashi appears and told him to go back to the netherrealm to get the darkness back Because it was a Main factor for going to The Other realms and Then the Story beginns With helping scorpion to find quan chi You calling yourself mkfan
You have to Like This Game even if it is weird But since From Back then when that Game came out it became my favourite could talk so much About that game
Well ...... he's back
If any character from the 3D games needs to come back, it's him
@@mkfan6167 Yeah
@@mkfan6167 That's a nice opinion, I'll let you have it

@@mkfan6167 I will make an attempt at caring, I guess
@@mkfan6167 he still deserves
I love older super powerful dudes in fighting games. Oro is one of my favorites, who is probably the most powerful fighter in the Street Fighter universe.
I want Shujinko in the next game. I'm getting the feeling he'll get disrespected again if he's brought back.
You were kinda right but at least he’s back-
@@venusfoo9667 I was watching the Livestream and the first time he showed up I was like, "who...?" And then he popped up again for the Fatal Blow and I went nuts. I still want him fully playable but I'm happy nonetheless.
@@judecider I could’ve sworn it was Shang Tsung until I read the comments lmao
@@venusfoo9667 I thought the same thing 🤣
Konquest mode was one of my first "RPG" experiences and I always thought it was CRAZY how long Onaga waits for him to finish his quest. But then I learn Onaga has been gone for thousands of years and its like waiting a week for christmas to him lol
8:55 ah yes that was the one power shujinko couldn't copy the power of reality
I have no idea why NRS hates the 3d era characters so much
Let’s be honest, if they ever brought Shujinko back they’d make D’vorah kill him
watching this after the reveal of shujinko. I WISH HE WAS PLAYABLE MAN
he needs to be a intelligent and slightly cocky. a wise man that humbles people with his skill
Deception is my favorite Mortal Kombat, with the formula polished and perfected, and Shujinko holds a dear place in my heart. Wish he'd come back, but he's both unpopular and a legacy character, so Netherrealm is only gonna dunk on him.
Love your videos bro 💯🔥
I honestly love playing as Shujinko in Deception. Also Shujinko got deceived by Onaga in collecting kamidogus is the whole theme of Deception.
Onaga was waiting for that moment and deceived everyone to fight each other and return when everyone is weakened. i think that was a good elaborate plan of his
Shujinko in english literally means "Main Character"
It's like intentionally naming your character "Mary Sue"
Honestly... I miss Shujinko. Deception was one of my favorites Mortal Kombat games, still is.
Dude, I love Shujinko! That was the best MK Conquest mode, I'm glad you're showing him respect.
MK Deception is my favorite MK game. And Shujinko is a cool character, him not having his own special moves is probably by he wasnt more popular
Shujinko Is The Goku Of Mortal Kombat That's VERY Underrated
Y'all cant tell me if you were all little kids approached by a divine looking ball of light telling you the godsbneeded to save the realms you wouldnt hav believed it too
Old Shujinko’s design really reminds me of Gen from Street Fighter, I never minded it lol
@@mkfan6167 Gen is amazing
Shujinko was cool. Deception is a masterpiece.
I think the issue with Shujinko is they attempted to have him replace Liu Kang during a period where the series just kept shitting on Liu (Killing him off, turning him to a zombie etc.) so he was placed in a bad position and I am not too shocked he wasn't accepted.
Honestly I loved shujinko! The concept of an old kung fu master is so cool. Please bring him back and give him a big role in MK12!
MK Deception.... Teenager grows old while completing a scavenger hunt given to him by a glowing orb
I wish he could come back in some sort of way
Deception is the most popular 3D Era so at least Shujinko has that going for him. The real most forgotten MK hero has to be Armageddon's Taven
Not forgotten he is always in my heart
I like how I’ve been on a Mortal Kombat binge all day and this video gets uploaded!
It's ironic that in the MK1 Shujinko reveal trailer people confused the illustrious Shujinko with Shang Tsung.
Poor Shujinko
Shujinko taking Bo Rai Cho’s spot as mentor to the next group of heroes would be fun, especially because Bo Rai Cho is way worse in every way. I’d like to see him appear, even if he gets killed off for plot development, It’d be cool. I loved Konquest mode in Deception so much. Also I’m dumb for not putting 1 and 1 together since the name of the game is “Deception” and I was shocked the main character was, you know, deceived.
He's actually awesome character!!! I love shujinko. I always wanted him to come back
03:09 Hé look likes Kollector 😳
11:05 Uh, yeah, about that…
This was recommended to me after the new MK1 trailer
Honestly I'm not the Shujinko fan but I'll admit he does have it rough! Also you forgot how Dark Raiden took him out, even though it's not really Canon, though I feel it should be.
MK:Deception was my first MK game (I know not a lot of people like the designs in it and the characters but it’s my bias) and I absolutely love it. I love every MK game except like 11
Shujinkos' second-to-last konquest costume is literally fire. If they bring him back, they need to use it.
They did shujinko really dirty in MK1 as well
old version is a really situational kameo that requires 400 iq to use and young one was relegated to an ending
If they bring back Shujinko they have to bring back Taven as well.
You forgot to mention that before defeating Onaga he ran away like a pussy first to come back later.
Ye I want shujinko back he's my guy
Give him a new, snazzy design and I'm sure he'd be cool in the current age or mk
I can imagine being him
Here after The Raiden and Sindel trailor 👀
Mk Deception has Sexy Mileena art. 👀
Since onaga is mentioned in mk1 and if he makes an appearance in the future it would be cool to see shujinko return too
Check it out - Bring back Shujinko. How people hate on him is beyond me. They all say “He’s a dumb, naive stupid head for helping Onaga.”
Shujinko met Damashi at around 13 years old.
Now in mk 1 shujinko is literally put on the back burner as a cameo character
It makes me sad because Shujinko was one of my favorite characters
6:22 that’s not actually true, Mileena fooled the entire Edenian army with her Kitana disguise to lead them against Shao Kahn’s remnant forces instead of Onaga
The only reason scorpion was picked as an elder god it's because Midway killed off Liu Kang
as long as he gets some good drip then he should be in mk 12
they could bring him back as a younger version
Shujinko is the True Underdog while being Overpowered Man i hate how Subverted things are toward him
I liked Shujinko cause it felt like the game was telling me not to.a little op? He was fun play, and his back story was a blast.
Shujinko gets no respect I swear
I find him hard to forget. The biggest yes man in MK history. A tragedy he wasted his yrs serving the dragon king
I dont care what MK 1-2-3 obsessed freaks say, they hate any 3D era games and characters anyway. _oh I will hate Hsu Hao because Ed Boon hates him so its a trend to hate him_ , _Oh I will hate Dariou Darrius etc because they are unpopular_ (like they were given enough development or chance to shine). _oh I will hate Kobra because he is Cobra Kai ripoff_ (like Liu Kang isnt Bruce Lee and Raiden isnt that lighting guy from Little China movie)
