Bo Bartlett makes me a better person. From the time that I first watched Bo and Betsy's wonderful film: "See: An Art Road Trip" to the many hours I have spent looking at his amazing paintings, I slow down enough to realize what is really important for me.
I have just been introduced to Bo Bartlett's art through a video entitled "Great Museums" as seen on PBS. Bo's work was shown in the Morris Museum of Art, for great southern artists. I was very taken with his work, and with an internet search, that brought me to UA-cam, and your moving tribute to him and his art story. A very enjoyable afternoon, indeed! Thank you both.
This is a stunning and beautiful tribute and insight into and artist whose work touches a place deep inside me. Excellent choice of music, and just a really profoundly beautiful video. Thank you for your efforts.
I love his painting...but notice all the people are beautiful slim and tall...just an observation. Obviously his family. Love the colour...his Maine paintings are wonderful. Great story of his life.. really enjoyed the video. Thanks.
Thanks John....www.janicetantonblog.com did my album art - she introduced me to Bo's work. She'll be heading down to paint with him soon. When I saw Bo's work my heart melted. It's wonderful you created this piece. xo
Hi Julia, that is very cool. Ask Janice to say hello to Bo for me! There was another guy at our art school named Vincent Desiderio who was a friend of Bo's and has ended up being very big in the international art world. You might find my film on him interesting as well. ua-cam.com/video/mwFVIhmZzeo/v-deo.html
I'm an ex- PAFA and I really enjoy your videos. You're a super fun guy. Plus, Doris Staffel was my favorite teacher at PCA, where I graduated in 1986. Now I paint fulltime in France. Would be happy to host you!
Unlike Hopper, his subjects stare right at the viewer, portraits I suppose. Hopper painted snapshots of the lonely, with all their flaws , anxieties and longing. Bartlett's work is beautiful, but comes off a bit slick and pretentious.
absolutely gorgeous. Thank you so much for this inspiring video.

True Americana.
The music sounds so javanese
very Hopper-like
