Some of the best Haydn playing I've heard!!!! The "period instrument" people are teaching the "standard" orchestras so that you can hardly tell the difference.

Haydn seems to underrated in the contemporary programme and general taste - yet he was mentor to Beethoven and Mozart.

DAMN I want to have this class of playing combined with period-instruments! Hurry up, Antonini, Faster, Giardino Harmonico and Kammerorchester Basel! *shamelessly promotes haydn2032*

Haydn's last minor key symphony.I think he wrote nine in all.mozart only wrote 2,both in g minor, possibly 3 if you include the "odense" sym in a minor which they are not sure was written by him.

      Stan C
Haydn wrote *eleven* symphonies in minor keys:
      26 d minor
      34 d minor
      39 g minor
      44 e minor
      45 f# minor
      49 f minor
      52 c minor
      78 c minor
      80 d minor
      83 g minor
      95 c minor.
Mozart as you correctly say wrote just *two* minor key symphonies:
      25 g minor (K183)
      40 g minor (K550).
The symphony in a minor (‘Odense’), sometimes attributed to Mozart, is spurious ie not by Mozart.

What kind of timpani are being used here? These aren't the regular Ringers..

Hilf mir, ich kann es nicht ertragen! Der letzte Teil der Symphonie Nr. 95 von Haydn ist ein Denkmal der Musikkultur !!! Was sollte Haydn Mozart und Beethoven beneiden?!
