For me, The Flagg had an almost mythical quality to it. No one ever actually saw one, but someone knew some one else who had one.
Oh I hear ya there! I actually had a friend as a kid who had one…and he always treated it like it was ‘in his way’. He’d walk across it and such.
My cousin had one. I still secretly hate him.

Hey CHADSTER, looks awesome. Those lights were originally made as VALVE CAPS for BMX bikes and cars. TIRE FLYS is a brand and WALMART also had a brand. You could also get flashing versions. I have a set of TIRE FLYS that change from red to white to blue in a strobe pattern.

Great video Chad. I got one of these masts off Etsy and still need to get around to it. Definitely going to follow your lead in many ways. I would either scrape the lights or find smaller ones as they don’t quite fit in to the scale

That mast is dope! Love the detail work you added to it for that color pop. The USS Flagg is definitely as you described it, a grail, and truly one of the most amazing playsets in history. Are the lights the same ones sold on Raise the Flagg? Those gels are awesome for custom stuff, used those after your recommendation for my custom Super Mamba. Your 8 & 5 flags came out great! Really appreciate the explanation down to the exact products you use. I prefer the lights on both sides of the crows nest too! Side note, that Phalanx CIWS is awesome up there too! 2:44 um, akshuuualllly... that's where the tacan goes. That's what we make people climb up to the top of the mast and smack for them to get qualified aloft. At which point we may, or may not "simulate high winds" by uh... swaying the mast. 😂
After you folded the can gels on themselves, did you glue them to themselves? If so, what kind of glue did you use for that?
I did not, no. Just the right fold and the straight ‘I’ stickers to wrap the edges - all they need
That was a lot of fun to watch your process. Are the mast parts fdm or resin?

@Its.Chad. the main reason I asked is because of the gray color and how clean the prints are, I was thinking resin. Lots of fun to see it all come together. Dig the light a lot, too.
