Thank you for your compassionate comment about the difficulty of showering every day for those with mental challenges. It made me respect you even more.
If you're on a budget, instead of body scrubs you can use a regular washcloth. I started using an exfoliating glove every other day and noticed my skin was much smoother and cleaner than it used to be. It's the only thing that cured my backne and prevents it from coming back. I wash and dry the glove or washcloth after every use and replace it every couple of months.
@@SanaaFriday but scrubs are rough yk?...if u have weak skin barrier or any skin problems it will clog the pores and make it worse...i had skin problems and my dermatologist said not to use it(i had smthng close to eczema but it was not eczema i js had itchy dry coloured skin)
my autism only lets me shower 2-3 times a week. my parents constantly say it’s gross and i need to shower more. thank you for mentioning that if you can’t mentally get yourself to shower everyday it’s fine.
Getting in just to rinse is also a good idea! Or wiping yourself down with wipes/ damp towels. Make sure to put on clean clothes every day and you'll be pretty okay. Anything is better than nothing
Most people don't actually need them daily, I think 2-3 times a week is OK. But I definitely understand where you're coming from. I have sensory issues too (mostly with food, showering actually gives me sensory euphoria) and my loved ones sometimes don't really get it. I've heard there's water filters that u can put on the shower head that will make less water come out, if that makes it any better.
@@alishasapproach 💓💓 it would also be amazing if you did a video dedicated to skin care (baby smooth skin, lip care, what exfoliants to use etc) and a video dedicated to hair care (routine for soft hydrated hair etc) much love 💕
You can get microfiber or terry cloth wristbands to use while you’re washing your face so the water isn’t running down your arms. Got mine on Amazon I love them!👍🏼
My video!!! I am a European person who fell in love with Brazil. I am planning to retire there. One of the things that I fell in love with is the fact that BO for them is a terrible sin, Brazilians take at least 2/3 showers a day. I have been obsessed with smelling good since I was a baby. I am a grandmother today. I am also a doctor. So no, showering does not hurt the skin. Absolutely does not. What hurts the skin is using harsh soaps and or not moisturising afterwards. I am so obsessed with smelling good that I bring home all the moisturisers I need when I go visit my son, because their deo-lotions are the best in the world.
Seriously, thank you. I’m learning more from videos like this then my own family, and since in a way you’re a stranger, it’s easier to ask you something like this. I’m sure you’ve helped lots of other young girls too. Thank you.❤

I appreciate that! I'm sensitive to scents and there is nothing worse than having to be in close quarters with someone with too much perfume on!! I had a hair client that wore really heavy, exotic perfume, and her friends came with her with equally heavy perfume on. I have asthma and almost died coughing! I finally had to tell her that her friends would have to go cause it was too hard on my asthma. Usually one squirt is all you need, not multiple squirts every where!!!!
Very good video. I'm loving these hygiene videos. For the most part I do everything as you stated but I love watching to learn about new smell good products

Nice video, great you mentioned chemical exfoliants because these work best for bumps KP and any texture on top of the skin. For oils, there are so many different oils, not all are hydrating and not all are locking moisture. For example rosehip is hydrating however jojoba is not works better to lock in moisture. I’ve learned this from curly hair ladies and dermatologists :)
you can use an oil before lotion, it varies person to person. especially if the lotion is thicker than the oil. personally, i like to do the oil first before my lotion, makes me softer than ever.
Body clay mask is so brilliant. I have never thought of doing this and I surely will VERY soon. I love clay mask but it is indeed a habit to only use it on the face. Thanks for the tip 😊
AHAs and salicylic acid cleans pores, benzoyl peroxide kills service bacteria, lotions containing urea are good for sloughing dead skin...dry brushing and scrubs are very hard on your epidermis ❤ your skin naturally sloughs off dead skin...wash cloths that you wash every time are best for cleansing...and if you have sensitive skin always use products with no fragrance ..so many can cause contact dermatitis ❤

Using a foot peel mask every couple months or so is a GODSEND, and then aloe socks to bed with lotion -> oil -> Vaseline/aquaphor, it locks everything in
Another great video! I'm learning a lot. I've been drying myself off with a towel, but I guess I shouldn't and put lotion on. Especially for summer. My skin is super dry
Thank you so much for these videos, they’re sooo useful! I just have one question: if I use a body butter after the shower instead of a body lotion, is it the same? Should I apply oil anyways afterwards?
The one with active ingredients should be used last ( and it let it sit on the skin for about 5min before washing off , to allow the actives to work/ penetrate) . Alternatively, you could get a shower gel with both a scent & active ingredients .
I use different stuff, but if they are all in the same group (vanilla-based, white flowers, rose, spices etc) you use them to do a thing called scent layering. It requires just a bit of knowledge on the base, middle, and top notes of the scent you want to use and you will enhance it and make it your own.
Big sis, i never had. Thank you, especially the difficulty showering daily. And i wanna ask do you (or any othercommenters) have any tips on how to bemore confident. I actually really like the idea of dry brushing, but that brush seems too harsh. I'd rather use something like Luna 4 body, it kinda looks softer and better for the skin.
So I love the body oil from sol de Janeiro and the video on their website explains to use it first then seal it with the moisturizer. Is there a reason why they are saying something different?
Not sure why they are saying it differently! Those things aren’t always researched super well. But scientifically it’s supposed to be water based lotion and then oil!
Does coconut oil count as a good body oil? I use coconut oil for oil pulling and I don’t know if it’s good for the body and holds the scent. Someone help me 😭🙌🏻
Body oils just lock in moisture. Some will make your body ‘glowy’ depending on the formulation. However consider using oils with shimmer if you want that summer ‘shine’ look , or opt for oils specifically formulated for dry skin as they tend to be heavier and will give you that glowy/ oily look .
See I struggle with finding the right shower routine for me because my skin is dry and my hair is oily but also has dandruff and is flaky...I used to wash it 3x a week and that made it bad...then I washed it 2x a week and that was embarrasing because I always held myself to that schedule and made myself go to school with really greasy hair...now I'm washing my hair whenever it gets gross but now it gets gross too fast and I'm scared to just wash my body because I know my hair gets even more gross because of that??? but if you have sensitive/dry skin/skin conditions its better to not use body scrubs because its going to be rough on your skin
