- Well, after more than a decade of shooting a Hoyt (and bashing Mathews) I decided to change up companies and accessories for 2021! This bow is awesome, excuse some of the lighting in this video, bad weather kept the garage door closed for most of it! Thanks for the video. Like you, I’ve owned a lot of Hoyt. Great bows. The RX7 just priced me out. Don’t want to spend that. I’m moving to the 31 V3. Looking forward to it. Didn’t want the 27” or 28” stuff, was glad to see a 31”. Keep up the great vids!

Awesome video. Just wanna suggest something that I noticed. It’s good that you used a safety with your draw board but my suggestion is to not hook it to your d loop. In the case of a d loop breaking you will still dry fire. I just put my safety on string itself

As with any Mathews, I'm sure it's a dream, but bow technology is moving faster than computer technology these days. I bought the VXR 31.5 last year, and it's a shooter. The VXR and V3 are virtually the same bow, with just a few minor differences, but IBO is roughly the same, and as far as smoothness of draw, how it feels at break over and let down, the solid wall, and buttery smooth release and quietness, I can't see forking over another $1000 for basically a VXR 2.0. Nice looking rig, though, and it's always cool to see another Hoyt apostate convert to Mathews.
Thanks for watching, buddy! You are correct, the only performance/feel difference I feel is the valley. The VXR draw cycle was a bit more harsh, other than that, the V3 Is a 2.0 as you stated! Happy hunting bro!
@@harvesttimehunt2332 I've read that the draw cycle is smoother because, I guess, of the more parallel limbs. Tbh, I haven't pulled back a V3 yet, but the VXR cycle, I feel, is quite good. Now, if Mathews would do a direct trade, I'd probably be in. But hey, happy hunting right back at ya!
Doesn't the paper tuning need to be done level to get a correct indication. Shooting down would indicate a low tear? Maybe it was level and the vid looked off.

why the 31 as apposed to the 27? just curious. I'm looking at a 27 now.
From my competitive days, I have always shot longer ATA bows. The 31 is the shortest ATA I’ve shot and probably the best, most consistent bow I’ve owned! I was also worried about my string angle with a DL OF 29 1/4, but after toying with this bow and a 27, that’s nothing to worry about with these!
