ranked definitely over corrected. I do like the emphasis on playing ring/winning the game over pushing hard but idk why we have had only extremes. Squad wiping and getting 0 LP because i didn't make top 8 is wild
Add on matchmaking based on MMR and not rank, to make matters worse
I mean people literally made Pred without shooting a bullet. That says everything about ranked. It's absolute trash

The ranked controversy is S tier. They lost so many players over it.
As someone who came back to play the last 3 weeks of season 18 after not paying attention or playing this game since season 8/9, killing 2-3 squads but then not getting placed high in the match overall and getting negative LP is ... its hard to play and not be disheartened.
yea these guys are braindead
man it was my first time hitting masters last season (didnt rat) but i didnt feel any pride in equipping it. i just used it for the aesthetic and many newer players never got to experience the actual mad grind needed to hit masters which is really bad

6:15 I've always hated how kandy calls himself a "normal player" this time it's "pleb" yet has so much more time to grind out the game than an actual normal player.

One thing i didnt remember all the much was the difference in activation tomes for wraiths tacticsl, now you have to have a sixth sense of when you should get it off just to be safe as opposed to when you truly need it but change or no change 9 times out of ten people are gonna chase you down to get that kill even if their risking dying from it especially in mixtape modes

Not really close to killing the game but I remember the pretty much universal rage at the Iron Crown event packs with the added cost on top for the Bloodhound axe.
S3 was soo good! I remember I nearly got my 20bomb and 4k badge with Pathy because Wraith got nerfed massively.
I guess for ppl who were going to hit masters/pred anyway it affected less….but for everyone else it was catastrophic. It wasn’t just plat, or even fringe plat players jumping up 2 whole ranks. It was bronze players whos pb was silver crouch walking around in masters lobbies. Did y’all not see that graphic? The top ranks had a majority of the player base? How is that not a glaring issue? Ppl hit pred day one without firing a bullet. How is that not a problem? It completely eliminated the grind, the satisfaction, the pride, and bragging rights hitting high ranks is supposed to include. What was the point in even playing a mode meant to test my rank when everyone was apparently in the highest bracket. They gave everyone participation awards and sign in bonuses in the form of master badges and dive trails. There’s a reason the player base tanked, and pros petitioned and quit.

which is insane considering crypto is still basically useless since no one knows how to play him
another relating to the last clip, the time when broken moon was released, a lot of players had their games randomly freezing, like more frequently than the usual. like every match is destined to crash. no errors, game just freezes and you had to close it throught the task manager. really hated that time because that was the time I was finally enjoying the game (I installed apex rather late), was starting to get wins, was winning my ones, was slowly mastering movement tech. Like I was so hyped about the game. then just suddenly after the big update, I couldn't play the game at all. they managed to fixed it after around a month.
another one was the removal of punch boosting, that was a really fun movement tech and it was very easy to do. going down a hill at mach 1 was fun and hilarious. still wished they didn't removed it. or atleast kept it in pubs.
I’ve been playing apex since march 2019 to current day, but that shield nerf had me almost delete it altogether. That shit sucked eggs.

i thought ranked was good before, i didn’t think there was a needed change (other than advanced matchmaking so i don’t get into a pred lobby when i’m in gold) but then they just made it ass

a controversy that was forgotten, except i don't think it really counts, was when Apex was hacked and unplayable because of the Titanfall players being pissed about their game or something like that. I remember that day vividly. The only game I really played at all at the time being hacked in protest OF HACKERS.
I also just remembered all of the DDOSing that happened a little bit after the release of Arenas that just wasn't being fixed for a little too long. Got so many penalties for that. Which is ALSO another controversy to me. Dumb move to get rid of that Arenas just because all the pro's were proing so Respawn forgot most of their player base is regular people.

i'd always been on the cusp of diamond 4, but s17 was just. bad. i usually love ranked over pubs, even when solo queuing, but holy shit are 17 (and 18, really) terrible for actually playing. all my teammates seem to want to do is rat, which makes for real shit game experience
Flatline iron sight nerf S tier 100%. Not even bc of the iron sight. But because they released Teal Zeal in the shop the same day as the nerf...

Heirlooms have never been a issue for me like kandy said if you can't afford it or don't like it you can skip it I've barely spent any money on apex packs and I got 2 heirloom packs within the space of 2 weeks sometimes you might just get lucky I only got those packs 2 years ago and I've played apex since season 1

Honestly they could just have just updated old sights to fit the new better ones instead of reverting or removing them all together. Lowkey would love it if weapons with the holo standard sights would remove the upper half as it's redundant and just straight up gut the scouts sights why is a marksman weapon got the worst sights possible.
You forgot season Legacy on open people couldnt get into the lobby and the people that could get a game or if they did it was super laggy more than usual for begin of season and the store was broken and they fixed the store within the hour and people still couldnt play but you could pay in the store
the season 17 ranked was D for me because most people stopped playing ranked completely after season 18. it was a way for people who don't play ranked that often to make masters. i got mastered that season and i hated that placement meta so much that i never want to play ranked again. it was so boring

Wild they removed b hopping and punch boosting even tho anyone could do it but tap strafing strictly for PC nah. Sure console can restrict PC lobbies but my buddies play on PC and probably others as well.

S17 ranked is easily S tier. As a solo Q'er. On 4 out of 5 games, teammates would just play AFK Legends. Quit and moved to TF2/Doom Eternal
It'd like you completely forgot the matchmaking ghost change of this season. I can't play a normal game anymore, it's so not fun anymore.

See with wraith they should have kept the one second portal bc she was a character that was supposed to get you out of a sticky situation temporarily to be able to push back now it takes her way to long to get out of it so in my opinion they should have just shortened the time of travel
People saying the scan meta was toxic aren't wrong but saying it lower the skill gap not likely doesn't matter if you scan someone if you were counter scan or out gun you losted those fights people were just made they couldn't no audio run up on squads anymore because it trackable now i got to deal with the louds foot steps being my teammates while a octane stims and one clips me with a r9 by with or a 360 no scope kraber slide from a bh running on my maggie ball pads because all i hear is a hum from the speed affect as this man is literally right behind me. Don't say it's uncommon 12 games in a row I've died to no audio while reaching a peak of 50 ping. If seer was still somewhat viable there would be a chance i would at least be able to play around moments like that instead of dies to them. At this point I'm convinced it's either a 3rd party software or apex on that artificial difficulty like COD where certain players get a advantage ingame. Cause all those times that is occur there was no audio disconnect symbol in the corner of my screen

6:27 they did lose players 80+% less players than normal playing ranked. I just want a real badge not these fake badges they keep making since u feel embarrassed for owning a master badge in Season17+ since everyone will automatically assume ur a ratting bot even if u got it being aggressive. I would personally never display a master badge from S17-18 since ur basically looked at as trash for even owning it
Heirloom recolors should be free for people that already have the base color heirloom, spending $160 on the same exact heirloom you already have in a different color makes no logical sense. It's just a shameless money grab from Respawn.

This season the rank system is also trash, You wont get any LP before you get to top10, so If I were to get like 10kills before and die at 11squads left, I get either -LP or 0LP, luckily the season ends in 3days
He definitely just doesn’t care about the $160 cosmetic because he can afford it effortlessly
Seer was so hated everyone forgets he was added earlier than planned as a way for us common plebs to fight the disease that was hackers we had growing in the game..
I still hate him, but I won't let the fact he put hackers off coming to Apex once they saw the growing natural counters..
Wraith tactical nerf was and is still the worst thing to happen to the character and she’s never been remotely good since. Her actual issue was low profile on top of her hitbox not her tactical, those are no longer an issue and now she’s just bad. Her ult is whatever and she basically doesn’t have a passive, insta phase was all she had.
Nah she's been in a good spot. Old one was basically just a passive, had no depth.
@@DreadCore_ wraith in a good spot? her ultimate is mediocre at best still to this day with her upgrade, her tactical is okay now and her passive is still useless. letting you know a squad is pulling up is completely useless when you can hear said squad across the map anyways. she’s mid at best and that’s a stretch.

You guys missed a LOT! Pathfinder was also low profile! Absolutely unplayable! I am a path main that’s STILL mad ab this. It was seasons that he was terrible. Missed out on a lot of kills bc I had to stop playing him. S tier problem there. I even got the bloodhound heirloom instead of path. Now he’s in a good spot and I got his heirloom on a free pack :)
On the other hand you had Loba who had a bugged tactical for at least a year 😂 It's still not perfect now, but it's better than it used to be.
Mantal jumping isent impossible on controller i can o it consistently but it still take practice just like mnk

Having not played since season 8, and then coming back at the end of season 18, it suddenly all makes sense as to why you get like minimal LP gains this season.
Season 17 was so full of overboosted rat monkies sitting in ranks they shouldnt have been, they *HAD* to shit on s18 LP gains.
So whos ranking is this? Im gonna choose S tier.. the other goes no B tier, first guy, yeah its b tier..
Literally no point if you're both gonna rank everything the same. You may as well just do one ranked system where you both contribute in not have a 99% identical ranked board

@@KandyRazzle you are one with 2 lists?, just saying what is the point of 2 lists when they are identical, if you think as one and respond as one the have a singular. I think its a disservice to your viewers having two lists and having the same reaction, to lists should theoretically show two different opinions not the same thing whereas the other can be so easily swayed on what to place things at. Its a lot of editing for nothing. I would rather watch either 2 sets of opinions with 2 self thought out tables or if you are as you say “we are one” then 1 list with a cooperative thought process.
I didn't understand why people were so upset with ranked in season 17. People were getting so pissed at other players for camping....but you literally couldn't rank up without pretty much hiding until top 10. If the ranked system punishes you for fighting, why take fights? And if you want to mindlessly W key, go play pubs or mixtape mode.

Season 17 having too many Master players. I bloody loved it. I am one of those players that made it to masters and I will never touch those heights again but for one season it made me feel like a god… what was not too like.
