Great trains video at Sungai Patani station! Anyone can get on the tracks there? My God, they are still using this old signalling system (token key) to open /close the line! Its really ancient! With all the high technology and computers now, why KTM dont use computerised signalling for the trains? Those dirty diesel engines still being used!
I was able to be on the tracks because the Station Master permitted that; at that time, only 2 of the 4 tracks was used. Now nobody can get in there. This video was taken before the double-tracking was completed. The colonial-era token system was used as a temporary signalling solution before the fully-computerised signalling is installed. The token system was abolished completely in the Kedah Line by mid-2013.

Padang Besar. The Special train was attached to the International Express until Padang Besar.
Really? I thought the special train travelled independently together with the ktm coaches from bangkok.
Yes indeed. The KTM representatives welcomed them at Padang Besar and they were onboard the KTM coaches.
