I've just done the Goechala trek from 19th to 28th with IndiaHikes. During the trek, we came to know that we are the last batch and all the subsequent batches have been cancelled. All the campsites have been vacated in front of us. Gupta Ji ka Dhabha in Yuksom is famous for its Pizza and Beer. Sikkim is the most beautiful Himalayan State I have seen. It's saddening to see that there are no visitors. I HATE COVID.

Glad you involved a section about Mid Orchid, after watching your video I called these guys last month and they were charging 46k for 2 people. I love the mountains but paying 46k for it ? Homestays were quoting ridiculous prices. Very sad.
True Lavina. Such greedy over priced people dig their own grave by quoting unrealistically higher prices. Even genuine tourists stay away from there after hearing such excessive rates. They are the ones who is killing the scope of what ever little income scope of tourism right now.
@@ramamoorthy8172 I do not think it is a lot :) 46k is for a month's stay for two people, including food as far as I know. In the mountains, WiFi is extremely expensive along with other things like water and electricity :)

My response is considering the present dismal less than 15% occupancy ratio in this industry, they need to be realistic. They won't loose if they come to a win - win deal at reasonable rate. Otherwise they are losing revenue while incurring fixed cost which is constant whether occupancy ratio is high or low. Again its my take. I may be right or wrong as per peoples individual perception. Feel bad for people who are totally dependent on tourism. When that uncle was telling u that debt ho gya hai, i felt like crying. His shop was full of confectionery stuff for tourisms but no tourist to buy that 😔😔 I don't know how do they deal with that stress, i am feeling helpless 😪😪
Agree with the investment part, however, cryptocurrency still feels a bit risky. But, having said that, one should invest the amount that one should not lose a moment's peace if loss happens. I love your travel vlogs and it just doesn't feel right that the travel industry has to go undergo such hard times, maybe disproportionately to other industries. However, I guess, the only way that seems possible to leave this all behind us, is adopting covid appropriate behavior. I'm hoping this all ends soon, and we can see more of your travel vlogs.

You can legit feel the pain , the frustration in his voice when he is telling about the tourism industry. His pain and everything he felt was quite evident. It is really bad manh. And for people like him, who are directly related to the tourism industry. I hope all of this ends soon and people like me can meet people like Sachin, stay with them, help them in any way we can and most importantly, travel again !

It's really sad that you couldn't visit Dubdi Monastery after hiking so much.. I can imagine how much effort it takes to reach Dubdi Monastery because I took the same path in March, luckily the Monastery was open and I was able to vlog there.
