LETTER 22 is a story of the positivity that underscores all movement towards progress and enlightenment, no matter how many obstacles stand in the way.
It is the story of a pure force of will, hidden somewhere out there, that is dedicated to revealing evolutionary truths to this universe in a systematic way.
It is the story of a visitor from another place, charged with delivering an enigmatic message; a wandering guardian, protecting a civilization that rejects the sun; and a being watching over it all, orchestrating its rhythms.
LETTER 22 is also the story of all of us, who have each, at one time or another, felt ourselves to be in possession of knowledge or insight that appears an innate, universal truth to us, but is callously dismissed by others. In such moments, it is easy to feel as though you truly are from a different planet, governed by a different sense of logic and order than this one, which used to feel so familiar.
However, in such moments we also find ourselves at a crossroads - a point in spacetime where we must choose to either succumb to these tribulations, or overcome them, and let those triumphs fuel the continued search for others who are also willing to open their eyes to another point of view.

Pretty Lights Music as a whole had changed my life from the inside out. I lost someone close to me years ago, the music helped me find myself again. I cried at pretty lights seeing that persons aura above the lights dancing with me at his show. I am eternally thankful for everything I have created under his musical influence and for helping me get out of some of the most heartbreaking confusing times of my life and helping me see the light and happiness in bringing people together through one common purpose. Music and love. He helped me find myself through film and photography a talent I was inspired by the ACMOTS doc with Krystle Blackburn. I never cried tears of joy or was so happy in front of stage in my entire life. I owe a great deal of that happiness to the entire PLM label. Thank you Derek, I don’t mind if you don’t produce another album yet. I would much rather see you happy and healthy and mentally ready over anything. We owe that to you, that simple type of understanding. That you have already given us so much ❤ Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I soon as I saw the title I thought of that song. It was a little before my time, though. Strawberry letter 23 is still one of my favorite songs of all time though

My friend who is about 20 years younger than me literally JUST turned me on to this artist and this song specifically while he was talking to me on the phone as he waited in line to see Pretty Lights LIVE in Chicago. When he suggested that I check out "Rainbows and Waterfalls", I instantly sang the line from "Strawberry Letter 23" ....written and recorded by Shuggie Otis (made famous by The Brothers Johnson tho) in response.
I was actually shocked when I pulled this song up and it turned out to be this song, "Letter 22" ...basically an Electronic Music DJ cover of "Strawberry Letter 23". But this song has always had an interesting history. I remember singing along to it on the radio and thinking to myself, "why did they name the song "Strawberry Letter 23", but the lyric in the song repeats "Strawberry Letter 22"? I was just a kid tho...not yet understanding that the title of a song, or poem does not at all have to literally mirror the chorus or lyric within the song. I am keeping an open mind these days as well, realising quite rightly that "Letter 22", although basically a remake, can be respected as a creative re-interpretation of "Strawberry Letter 23" in 2023.

What i take from this video is that people live in a dark shaded world conformed to society, once they are shown the light they enter a new plane of existence.
