High quality, for sure. No single hander (nobody would expect that), awkward interior lay-out, but that 's a personal pov, plenty space on deck and yes, a vry attractive yacht.
I’m glad I’m poor, what stressful will be having money to buy a boat of this size , which one to choose ? They are all awesome, thanks for sharing , great job Toby
Beautiful boat. I didn't see the center hand hold in the ceiling of the saloon until the very end. I noticed that in all of the yacht videos, even those with many hundred thousand subs, the ceiling isn't shown so much but it is very important to how an interior feels.
I can't help mention but after the Bayesian incident, some of us wonder how the water from a big wave or a `downburst` will be drained in that deeper cockpit area, or will it do down in the cabins via the washboard door...
@@gregsutton2400 If the keels fixed at that depth...it's going to be a nightmare to anchor in a lot of places or get into mamy marinas .... Certainly in tidal areas and places like the Caribbean...unless you want to spend a long time in your dingy...going back and forth.
Always were excellent boats with high price tags. A proliferation of this size and level reflecting the annihilation of ordinary yachting. This boat looks to poncy for ocean crossing and hanging out in deserted coves. Mainly for showing off in expensive marinas. Seen it happen here in Port Andratx and Mallorca.
the price.. even for contest, even while they have some of the most optimised SAD ratios (ive made a whole detailed chart of detailed specs of all high end sailing monohulls) among other things, at roughly 3.2-3.5 million USD on the water, its pricey. in fact in my opinion it crosses that line where you ask, what else is available, what else can i get? both, in sailing monohulls or miltihulls or even motor yachts, 3.5 million usd goes far.
I look forward to all the salty old seadogs complaining that it's not a "real cruising boat". Because it is not designed like a 1970's Nicholson/Moody/Hinckley etc...
I am not a fan of 1970' s cruising boats, but this boat is clearly designed for summer cruising in the med, not world cruising. For Bluewater cruising there isn't enough shelter on deck, the cockpit is too wide and will be dangerous at sea in waves or when heeled, and the position of the mainsheet in the cockpit in particular is disqalifying. I don't think that mainsheet position is suitable for any cruising but for a summer cruise around Sardinia and Corsica or maybe the Greek islands this boat would be lovely. For sailing across the South Pacific it's poorly suited. There....happy now?
@@SHGPO Not even slightly. Can you imagine being on the high side of that cockpit with the boat at max heel banging upwind in 30 knots and 5m seas? And the mainsheet should never be in the cockpit on a cruising boat.
@@deerfootnz - Completely agree. I also dislike the lack of a traveller, having done some offshore miles in the traditional, single wheel cockpit version of the Contest 50cs with a similar rig - we used the traveller a lot to good effect. Having been a guest on a chartered one off Garcia 70, with an identical cockpit set up to this boat I can concur - the non traveler, ankle height, cental main sheet winch is a great big, un user freindly risk, in a place that should be clear of hazards. I think a pro crew was killed fairly recently on a CNB 60 footer by such an arrangement. Could a traveller be mounted forward of the sprayhood? or is the boom not engineered to take loads from that point - plenty of carbon boomed boats do have that arrangement, but the fashion for ever bigger mainsails and long booms perhaps prevents it….?
Well that would the salty british commentators who really think those three where the only real boats but were/are still blind for the fact that in a little country on the right the bit better yachts are made. Sorry
Teak noone wants expensive to replace, tanks from inferior stainless steel, or galvanised, keel bolted on, keel pigiron instead of led, make a quality boat and they could very the HR of the Netherlands. Instead they produce inferior yachts to keep the price down. At that level price is not of importance. As is, I wouldn't buy from them .
The Dutch know their trade! An incredible boat. Thank you for the presentation.
Beautiful vessel. Love the reviews Toby!
These beautiful boats get better every year. And more advanced. When they make a 70' single hander. Call me.
Nice job Toby.
👍
Oh my word, what a stunning boat - no contest.
❤Looking forward to the test drive!
Thank you for a very professional and informative tour
You're welcome!
Thank you Toby for the tour of a beautifully built yacht.
A pleasure
Wow just looking at this boat gives you tingles imagining what it would be like sailing it.
Visited Contest stand at the Palma boat show this year. Impressive yachts. There is a very nice C55 kept in St Mawes called Vara.
I'm a multihull fan but this yacht is beautiful and impressive!
Yes.. Absolutely stunning

2:51 ‘The crew locker’. 😂😂😂 Just don’t put them away wet.😂😂😂
Nice quickie tour Toby. Stunner in real life. Looking forward to your sail video.
Thank you - me too!
I think I can see why you were so impressed Toby…!
At 8:43 sure looks nice, but I’m wondering how hard it is to keep clean.
What a beauty! If I was in the market for a yacht like that it would be a hard decision between a Oyester 595/625, a HR64 or this boat

That's CLASS.
Thanks for the tour, but where the hell is Theo and Yachting Monthly? Does anyone know why they stopped making videos?

Its 8 inches deep. You should ask rather what the tipping angles is for the boat.

Remarkably similar in layout to the Jeanneau 64 / 65

Nice to see a proper king plank on a laid deck.

Engine??
It has one, yes.
Interior gives the feel of a camper interior, can't sense the super yacht aspect.
Wow you must know some pretty special campers!
Just little bit of pocket change and she’s yours

So no difference between this model and the smaller version.
from the basysian stand point.. not impressed due to the lack of safety features..
I have one safest feature for you : stay on land honey.
Come on lotto, it must be my turn. Contest or Hallberg? I don't care. Anyone want to buy a very old Benetteau for a few million?
Well classics do sometimes go up in price....!

again your bla bla bla, almost the same blubber as a few years ago when introducing the ds
World class feedback. Toby, take note, the children want a costume to spice up the actual sailor talk please :)
