I'm subscribed to a lot of people who teach Japanese on UA-cam and they all recommend against using A.I. to speak the language because people don't speak like A.I. A lot of times when they review these kinds of apps, they will test the app's knowledge of pitch accent in Japanese by purposely mispronouncing a word. I.E., pronouncing 日本語 as "niHOngo" instead of "niHONGO," and the app never corrects them. Also, as someone who has a lot of Japanese dubs, including the entire Full House series, you will not understand the language based on A.I. If you watch Full House in Japanese expecting everyone to speak slowly and clearly like A.I., you will not understand what's going on. They will be talking at a million miles per hour, and you will need to keep up! Especially Danny and Jessie. They talk the fastest.

I would recommend starting with Jumpspeak because it combines AI with a guided course. AI on its own won't have a course structure per se, but Jumpspeak has one that you can logically follow to progress in a language.
Very good introduction!! The only problem for me is that I wanted to use it to learn Portuguese. Rather disappointing it’s currently unavailable on the full program. 😕
