I don't know how I came upon your sight but so many of the hymns you play on this beautiful instrument are my favorite just love the sound of your organ playing
I am an ELCA Lutheran from South Carolina. I play the piano and organ. Today (April 7, Easter 2), we sang this as our Closing Hymn. It is #361 in Evangelical Lutheran Worship.
I have always wanted to hear this again! The organist at our 8-26-1989 played this for our recessional. I asked her to play her favorite hymn as we walked out. I didn't hear it in my mind!!!! This is a tune I have heard many times since then and didn't know that it was the same hymn! Totally enjoyed your talents! Thank you!
“If...” the first of Lindsay Anderson’s film trilogy featuring Malcolm McDowell as our hero Mick Travis on his journey through life. Great stuff, and a lesson for today’s Covid Rule Takers and Rule Breakers. Who’s side are you on? ua-cam.com/video/2FahMGaCoow/v-deo.html With the wonderful reworded Ellacombe to kick things off!
Hey Rob, here in the States we also use this tune with the hymn "I Sing The Mighty Power of God". Either way, it's one of the best hymn tunes ever and you play it just as it should be played!
Hi Rob , from the USA. Such a beautiful organ and that hymn is well played. I’ve known some really good organists in my lifetime , I love how much you love music and really put your heart into it . I have always appreciated good music. Thanks so much
RobCharles1981 I hope to someday visit Wales . My parents have been there, but I had already gotten married and moved when my dad retired from his lifelong career as a police officer they took a trip overseas. Wales was where my mom’s ancestry is. Wales is beautiful she said .
Sorry, meant to say have to keep coming back to listen to this hymn. Each time I hear it the sounds of the organ sound great and you can hear all of the great talent pouring out of the grand organ pipes!
Such a great hymn and tune and very well played. I will be playing this at Queen Camel in Somerset this Sunday, not as grand an organ as at All Saints, but the Lord's name will still be praised!
@@RobCharles1981 this reminds me of the good old days when I was in Catholic school choir. I was never a good singer but boy did I love it. You’re a talented piano player.

It was helpful to see how you pull stops between the verses. I struggle with that. My presets are usually nonfunctioning, so I have to change all the stops one by one.
Thanks for that, most modern nowadays have a Solid State Capture System where you can set your own stops this tends to be on larger organs such as this one! :-)
Rob, could you possibly post a video of you playing the hymn tune "Es Flog Ein Kleins Waldvogelein" ? We sing the hymn "O Day of Radiant Gladaness" to that tune. It is one of my favorite hymn tunes, but it is very hard to find a good video of it. Thanks!!
A-Major and A-Natural are the same thing. ("Natural" simply means not sharp or flat.) My point was, the key is not B-Flat as stated in previous messages.
Yes indeed Rob. This key is usually obtained when one crosses John Travolta with The Fonz, i.e. "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAY" fever! :D [sorry about that one Rob -- I couldn't resist! Just FYI, the organist at the church I go to (St. Elizabeth Ann Seton in Shrub Oak, NY) usually plays this hymn in G major. I first learned of this hymn as "Go, Make Of All Disciples" when I was vacationing in Chicago in August 1995 -- I attended Mass at Holy Name Cathedral which is located in the city. I heard this in the brilliant film "If...." with Malcolm McDowell. A true masterpiece, both the hymn and the film
I heard it the first time in the same movie. An English girlfriend taught me the alternate words "Why was he born so beautiful...."

Hmmmmmmmmmmm, you're in the key of A on this hymn, am I correct? I've seen some organists play this hymn in G.

Lovely sounding organ who is the builder?

Cool
No, you're playing in A-natural. I can see all the C-sharps and E-naturals you're playing, as well as the many A chords.
