Nice to see another gnome mini back even just as a familiar/assistant - always a favourite back in the halcyon days of WFRP. Definitely not a fan of the dwarf-like head on the second, but his staff is incredibly close to that of the Truthsayer of Albion, which is nice.
I like these three wizards a lot. I'll definitely be picking up the necromancy wizard for my vampire counts. Might even get two of them and put one on a round base for my Gravelords. I like her enough that maybe I'll even go all out and put her on a mortis engine?
Definitely agree the current magic situation in old world is a bit of a problem. I think it's down to the core magic system - adding caster level to casting rolls is just too much. It makes even multiple low level casters unable to keep higher level casters in check, which forces mage lords if only as a defensive measure, but that just means there are even more mage lords in the meta which means even more pressure to run even more mage lords. Definitely a system that will need to be re-thought when and if the Old World is updated with a second edition. IMO the core system from age of sigmar is a better base to build on - since caster level determines number of casts/dispels per turn but not the power of those casts or dispels it allows for a couple weaker wizards to put up a reasonable defense against a single more powerful caster, freeing up points (or hypothetically in a fantasy battle sense lord slots) for other kinds of hero. much more limited bonuses to casting rolls also keeps the most powerful spells in check via unreliablility, as opposed to the current old world situation where a liche high priest in a mortuary cult might be effectively auto-casting all their spells with a +8 to cast, and that's without even resorting to shenanigans like stacking buffs from multiple caskets.
I agree that the lore states that The Empire at this point has a high suspicion of 'Sorcery', but it also appears to say that it depends on what part of The Empire you are talking about, and it's main religion. In Reikland, where the Sigmarite Doctrine is the major faith, yes, they absolutely despise and fear Sorcery, and will burn you at the stake for it. But in places like Talabecland and Stirland, where the worship of the other older human gods like Taal are more prominent, Wizards are more execpted, and where armies and mercenary groups are more likely to have them as part of their ranks, or even as leaders. In regards to specific practiced lores, Battle Magic would be the most execpted and tolerated, as it seen as useful, with maybe Elementalism and Illusion somewhere in the middle. Necromancy would be tolerated only by worshippers of Morr, leaving Daemonolgy to be the least tolerated and most feared, probably only utilised by corrupt and tyrannical Border Princes and those closer to The Chaos Wastes. But that's just from my own personal research on "Pre-Chaos War" Imperial Magic.
I love these new sculpts. Especially the battle magic one

One on foot, one on horseback and one on pegasus. That is the way they should have done it. Minis are great though.
That would have been really nice, especially if they did them as easy to kit bash
