- damaged? fan boys refuse to see flaws and problems in favorite radio manufacturers? or is brain damaged population that can't follow along with simple concepts? the radio automatically inverts usb and lsb when using direct input dose it with out fail I call that an auto mode inverse function not so brilliant and sad so many can't understand the problem
Next, people will be complaining that it doesn’t log in your contacts automatically.
this is not a problem, also on the FT-991 and FTDX-5000D. This is the YAESU algorithm when you dial the frequency by hand.
It is a problematic to me it should not swap my mode to the opposite mode that's not cool
it only changes mode if you change with band change button quite normal
Rofl 🤣
Go into your menu...Page 17 & 40 will tell you how to preset your radio to be in a certain band when ever you change bands. This is how I did mine. When ever I go from say like to 40 meter it will automatically be into the LSB mode. Then if I change to 15 meters it will automatically go into USB mode. Mine works with no problem.
It is not a problem. You set up the bands and frequencies by holding down the mode button.
I'd hate to think how you would cope with a radio that has a manual / mechanical mode selector switch... Muss fuss about nothing...
It would not automatically change to the incorrect sideband if if was manually operated lol nope I'm not a fan boy and if yaesu gets it wrong I will call it out sorry if that bothers you
I hope they don't change this. When manually inputting a frequency I would hope it doesn't change anything else. That is what the band selector is for.
It changes it to the wrong sideband lol
I'm amazed so many completely missed the point of this video Lmfao
@@aaronlabranche2977 No, it stays on the sideband that you used last. If you're on USB and manually input 3.800, it stays there. If you manually enter 28.400 it will still be on USB unless you change it. Using the band selector will change the mode the way it should.
I don't see this is the problem but I guess you expect the radio to automatically select upper or lower sideband based on frequency. The radios doing what you've told it to do. If you're going to manually enter the frequency like that it's going to follow what you have selected.
Nope another one didn't watch the entire video you don't even know what your talking about what a fool 🤣 😂 another know it all with out all the facts must be another liberal zombie
Why do libtards make snap decisions without all the facts?
You are so wrong I love ❤ correcting know it all hams that have to always inject there 50 cents with out actually knowing what you speak of
@@aaronlabranche2977:: no wonder you have so few subscribers. You are rude and abusive to people that make a comment you don't agree with.
What you are showing happens on my FT-2000 and my FTDX5000. In response to another user you were much more polite and told him that's not how YOU want it to work. Fair enough. Send a note to Yaesu and let them know how you feel. But you were polite to another responder and not to me. I told you the same thing. I am not a libtard and I've watched the video from front to back.
The selection of USB or LSB is done by convention and not by law. That means if you want to operate USB on 75 meters that's your choice. I know of many people operating in the various bands that go against convention.
I've been licensed over 50 years and absent an apology, which I seriously doubt you are adult enough to give, I will make sure not to visit you again.
@@aaronlabranche2977 :: who are you talkin to? There are no other visible replies. If you're replying to me, everything I own is Yaesu. I've also been licensed for more than 50 years. Even if you disagree with a response, there's no reason for abject rudeness and attacking people that reply to you.
You are in manual mode once you begin to enter frequencies using the dial pad. Selecting USB or LSB before entering the 10 digit frequency number tells the radio you want that frequency number in the upper or lower band you selected to begin with. The band will not change regardless what frequency you enter unless you manually change the band.
You think that is a problem? The old FT-101"s you used to have to tune. Plus if you had a tuner you had to tune that. Plus if you had a Amp you had to tune that. If you moved to far off your tuned frequency on the band. Guess what? You had to re-tune everything. Change bands guess what? You have to re-tune. I know your rant is not about the FTDX-101 it's about the 10. Might want consider yourself lucky technology has come a long way and you can tell Huston we don't have a problem. Just a thought.
Cars were once started by hand crank also but that's not really cool today lol 😆
@@aaronlabranche2977 No they are not cool today. Your rant on a state of the art radio kinda made you look like you were having a tantrum. Like a child would have. My point was be thankful for what you have and be thankful you don't have start your car by hand crank.
@DELBERT 935 if you buy a china rig you should praise Jesus it even turns on but premium 1700$ radios ... naaaaa
@DELBERT 935 looks like your having a tantrum like a child over a video I made did it hurt your feelings? Show me where the video hurt you
Let me guess you walked up hill both ways carrying your little brother and sister on crutches right lol
Sorry this is a bit late, but "band stacking" by using the band button eliminates that. Tune lower 20 CW with your settings. Press band a second time, get a second 20 meter entry. Set it up for, say, digital mode. Press band a third time set up 20 phone. Next time, you can select any of those three presets by merely pressing band to get to that memory slot. Memories are variable, each just remembers the last setting you had for it.
I know it just seems odd and easy to fix not a huge problem but it's same in the 101d
Other rigs do as one would expect, go to USB or LSB based on the HF band. I dont see it as a serious issue, but is nice to have rigs do setting automatically like offset on 2m & 440 FM rigs and let you change if you like. The FTDX10 does a few things like this like turn off break-in when switching bands while in the CW mode. Is a pain to have to go into the menus and make changes that the rig changed. This is firmware and I hope Yaesu makes some changes along this line. I do like my FTDX10, is very nice rig, but does have some operational issue.
After I used RT Systems software to load my stored information on
my FT-991A the problem of having to choose operating modes just
stopped happening.
Fascinating
Its only a problem for the appliance operators
Mine does the same thing........just got used to changing upper and lower wherever I am.
My only beef with this radio hopefully fixed in update 73
@@aaronlabranche2977 I can live with this problem as this radio is great otherwise.
Seems ok with the new software Aaron. Good spot 👍🏻✅. 73 de Will, M0LGW
Good to hear thanks 73
@@aaronlabranche2977 what firmware? I just see the one of January
I have v01_03
It’s not a flaw. Sheesh!
Hi Aaron, thanks for the video! RX is clear, but what about TX? How is the unnecessary sideband suppressed? On 101D it is very bad. Please look at the adjacent transceiver! If the suppression is about 25 dB, then this is not enough for a modern transceiver.
So are you saying if the sideband TX in the radio is not suppressed by more than 25 db then you will prefer a radio with an inferior receiver? I thought the DX10 passed the FCC requirements.
@@vijovame He is saying that a clean transmitter is a good neighbor on crowded bands.
latest firmware has addressed it already
Cw settings in menu, select direct frequency
? Is it not staying in the mode you put it in before changing frequencies? Im confused 😐
Bingo automatically inverts the ssb
Sorry I notice shit that many miss
That is not a problem, if you change the band in the band button then the radio will retain the last mode used, same as my 2 FT-991.
It's ridiculous, makes no sense very backwards if you make the same mistakes over and over it doesn't make it ok.
But I want to change it this way... stop making it ok for yeasu to goof up
You misunderstood clearly
Another one that clearly dose not understand what I said lol
Hi.In cw setting set cw freq. display to direct freq.
Huh?
It will stay on same freq..It is on cw Freq display page 96 of manual
@@kenmcfarlane226 the way it is is stupid I not going to defend that. Its clear you are defensive about yaesu errors I hope they correct It I heard it's been fixed with the first update witch only validates my complaint either way 73
I’m wondering is the settings on the vfo is set to manual. I know that on my ft891 I can change it to auto, lsb or usb and it will not change if I switch sidebands unless it’s set to auto.
There is a way to enter frequencies by going through the band button......it will change to the right side band.
I don’t see a problem manual is better I hate auto
Me too! But in the video it seems like he thinks it’s changing the mode?
It automatically reverses the last mode used. many got real confused by this! Lol showed my friend same on his 101d it really shouldn't do that. those that see it understand, many can't even watch a video and follow along
If it did not automatically reverse the side band that would be manual but it inverse the sideband automatically grrrrr why are so many seriously confused sick population brain dammaged?
you have one of the broken radios from factory since Ill have to rebuild it ill give you 200 bucks for it? Ill be rt back I need to tell my girl friend my great big possum grin is not from to much turkey, chuckles😀
mine changes automatically
Prob fixed in update Mine is original firmware I know they have at least one update...
It's Houston
LOL
Cool, another green screen mood light video! 73
Latest one not green lol
Lol
this behaviour appears to be working as intended, but your aggressiveness and language use tells me that I probably shouldn't sub to your channel.
I'm not suitable for all audiences I can understand that.
