That done correct. 2 clamps on the house ground rod and you put the clamps on right. #6 or #4 stranded bare copper would be better but the cost. now later if you had to add a outher ground wire just get a outher ground clamp and connect it just like house ground. it is ok to have 2 or more clamps per ground rod. only 1 wire in a clamp . now if you get a ground surge it will be out side your home. letting the surge in can start a fire. remember to have single point ground for your radio system. and that connects to that same ground you put in. lots of video's on you tube on how to do that. havening a good ground also helps noise floor .nice you help Jason Ham radio 2.0 . you will learn a lot ! 73's
Excellent Point, Frank. A proper Grounding System for your HAM Radio Station is super important. It's important to everyone of us for our own Safety. Tnx for the Video. 73 de Uncle Günter 💯👍🙋♂
I'm working on a similar grounding project. I was wondering how I'd get all of those ground rods in, now I know the right tool to rent. I could still have some problems with hitting rock at my West Virginia QTH, but, I won't know until I try.
I am a electrician in NY . hitting rock is common. if mist of the way in bend it over below grade. also may have go put a outher rod in if does not go in far. stranded wire #6 or #4 bare is better but the cost. use correct clamps like in video . they are UL approved and the right one put on correctly. watch this video. that is the right way to clamp wire to ground rod and to home ground rod. 2 clamps.
Hey Frank, if I'm in town, glad to come over and help, most roofs don't bother me. One of next videos can you include any kind of measurable test of the grounding system?
Do you only have a 2 wire plug system in your house?..thought thats why all the grounding was done like this in the past. But modern homes already have an earth ground ..so when you plug it in its already grounded. ARRL vid explained this in detail..its on you tube ..take a l9ok.
this is done for bonding the ham and antenna group to the house ground. Since it was a long ways to connect the antenna ground to the house ground, you need to run more grounding rods. THIS will prevent a grounding loop across the long ground wire connecting the systems together

Thank you, I wanted to share my project and my experence with everyone

I didn't know you could measure the effectiveness of a ground system. I love to learn how.
I like the idea of it, but I'd need to check if that is legal to do in my area. Either way, it will help your gear. :)
Thank You so Much. I hope so too. Would really know until its all finished
Great way to ground. One question what all you connecting to the ground system?
FTDX10 and two antenna whish are in flux.
Hope you can get thatantenna up soon !
We're getting closer
now you can get up all those leaves 🍁
I hate racking leave
@TankRadio the ground needs the organic material.
I put coffee grounds in the backyard here in the desert.
thank you
Thank you for swinging by
Nice work, Frank.
Thank you sir.
Looks Functional
Thank you so much
Tank! Nice job! You did a thing, Sir. 73 de Bill
Thanks 👍I am glad i can finally do the hardest part of this build.

Looks good Frank
Thank you Don, means a lot coming from you
Won't a ground wire that long become a radiating element??? 🤔🤔
Not while it's bare wire in the ground.
U must be careful not to cause a ground loop .. inalways try to keep very short runs from my main tower to ground rod ...
With this uneill be ok cause your baring the wire ..so this will be ok
Why is all of this necessary? This is not intended as a snarky question or trolling. I honestly want to know what's going on here and why.

I habe about 3 ft of ground rod on one side of my shack and 4 ft on the other. 12 to 13 ft apart
The whole boxes are kind unnecessary imo.
I installed them so no one is hitting them with lawn mowers. Plus it's keeps the equipment inspectable
@@TankRadio Come on man...Live dangerously!
I see no reason for the buckets.
I did it to hind them for the mowers.
