    I will tell you the reason - the ssd has a slow write speed. Ssds have an area of faster storage (flash used in 2-bits mode) which can even resize dynamically on some ssds, and it can be 33GB for example. When you run tests, at some point it will fill this area and needs to write to slower flash, at 50MB/sec. If you let it sit for a while, it will again work for 30GB with fast speed.
    But this will not help if you need to write to the ssd a lot of data with no pauses.
