For all his flaws Johnny earns my respect. In his final moment he makes the most noble choice he can, not risking or hurting anyone else, but taking a shot and going for glory
I love this ending primarily because when you’re on the first level down, Johnny reviews the game plan with you, and then finally admits, “you got this - you’re better than them.” 😈
the only time a video game quote genuinely inspired me IN THE MOMENT, i really did feel such a boost of confidence its corny i know but 300 hrs of gametime gets you immersed
@@Arkhestra I totally understand what you mean, I just finished my eleven-seventieth playthrough and this time I roleplayed my V was already turning out like our beloved Rocker-Terrorist, and hearing that while wielding his Malorian, like “hell yeah I’m better than them let’s go”
Best part of that mission was just Johnny constantly ‘helping’ you and encouraging you. As the game progresses you become more of one but in that mission he felt like a part of you but also a whole separate person there helping you.
@@mercenariosmechaghost9579I thought it was singing over to arasaka I did that and talking to johnnys construct, right before he walked away he said “ remember quiet life or a blaze of glory.” And said some other shit entailing you picked the one he hated. The quiet life.
In all of Cyberpunk lore, Johnny died an egotistical narcissist telling the story of a legend in his own rewriting. But in his chance at redemption, he found kinship and what really does take to become a legend, that last line from Johnny didnt just meant V alone.
Got the RED book. It's different. There were three strike teams on the tower, one of whom was led by Morgan Blackhand. Johnny went in and got killed first and was the designated fall guy. Murphy slipped in all the memories that Arasaka got their hands on for the night, then DataKrash happened so Arasaka never knew Militech provided the nuke and only thought there was one. That's why Alt kept saying that Johnny never knew the real details of that night and their relationship wasn't such.
For real that's what I wanted but they leave the rest to your imagination and interpretation so I guess if that's how you want it then that's how it is. I know V and Panam have a little argument before you do the casino mission but you can end it on amicable terms with her being fine with you in end credits and Saul being alive he says you are an aldecaldo so as long as you believe that V makes that choice to leave after that one last job that cements him as a legend then I think it's a good ending with all things considered.
Was literally hyped up when johnny said, let's mobilize.. And after entering arasaka and I was like 'Lets go!' ....only to get killed soon after cause I was only level 31 with netrunner. build.
Damn now I get why people get emotional with I really want to stay at your house and the fact that I have seen all the endings is just sad. I feel bad for Judy 😭
But that’s the point, you are literally dying in your last moments you just go “Fuck it, I’m dying better die in a spectacular way, and if I survive? Fuck it I fucking made it.”
It took me 3 tries to beat it. Had shitty gear but being a max lvl netrunner is what got me through it and tbh the fight with smasher was wayyyy harder than normal & felt as close as you could get lore wise. It was worth the second playthrough to get this ending (i missed it on my first playthrough at launch)
I know this ending is not hard to get but I keep ducking it up like I made other character for this ending but still duck it up and when I finally made it to the end of the game, I didn’t see the dialogue for it and I was just so mad I lied down and questioned my life choices for a solid hour. In short be careful with dialogue choices.
I love don’t fear the reaper I was playing the song and just rolling up to arasaka tower ready to die I went through the front door and died a legend raising one last middle finger to arasaka just like David…. One day… I’ll make it to the moon
This mission is still a buggy mess. At 2 points during the mission, my ability to sprint just vanished completely, only solved by a reload. Just before you enter the room that occurs in the room where Alt fries everyone, there seems to be a bug when the enemies spawn and rush out to face you, where all Cyberware on active cooldown or in use when they spawn are rendered permanently unusable. If that Cyberware happens to be, say, your Operating System (which, in my case was a Sandevistan), you're actually boned. The following fight in the room is probably one of the hardest in the game. And no OS means the most important part of most builds is locked out. During the Smasher fight, I could not sprint, or fire while aiming Johnny's gun. This mission apparently used to not have checkpoints, period. Without those checkpoints, I would have been bashing my head against a wall with a long wait before even getting to start it each time. It sucks because this is one of the best missions in the game to many of us, but such bugs ruin the experience.

This song should play in this scene. It’s beautiful.
It doesn't fits with a tense and hard decision
It didn’t fit in the anime either but they did it.
nah bro dont fear the reaper by B.O.C
Not in this scene, but in the ending of this when V in space
What song is it?
Gonna SLAUGHTER the saka pigs in this ending again once phantom liberty drops
Phantom Liberty gives you the ending we should've already had by allowing V to make an engram of himself.
Rather just give Johnny body going don't fear the reaper cuz it's not worth living in my opinion losing everything
