- Hello Everyone! I hope you all enjoy my personal spin on the MLP Infection AU trend that has been going around lately. I tried to use a real concept from My Little Pony for my fake disease and I hope that you enjoyed my idea, drawings and commentary. Yeah I’m a little perplexed on how to design her if I were to
I have an idea for pinkie pie: make her face like an forced smile like he wouldn’t want to do but at the same time he can’t do nothing at the same time that he tells random jokes but with an very dry tone since he would be talking 24/7 hours , make also his throat like being destroyed due not drinking or eaten and everyday his body would be skinnier and skinnier to an inhuman point while he cry’s. Also he pinkie pie would try to ask help but couldn’t because of the marks.

I would like to note: flying takes a ton of energy, and a ton of body heat to be directed to the flying muscles, so Rainbow Dash may also be wasting away due to all her energy being put towards flying. She could also have extremely low blood flow to important parts of her body, especially as they lose heat to her flight

bc w apple jack, second stage is just all her legs being a mangled mess and her crawling around, but not being much of a problem after that, before she starts using her head(but at that point i bet her friends finaly caught her cause no legs no danger imaright)

after a w hile of that she wont have furr anymore, no function in front paws either cause of flying drag
at some pont, she will fall(1 broken wing beyond repair is all it takes) and die from lack of adrenaline
if she wont die due to the virus she will still be just a husk in agony

The cmc usually help people find the meaning of their cutie marks rather than help them receive them!
I believe that Sweet Bell would just sing without stop, ultil her jaw is broken and vocal cords bleeding... But she still do the motion of sing

Getting more obsessive, where they soon stop sleeping just to spend time using their ability.
Let's just say when Luna and Celestia get it, the sun and moon would literally collide. Luna dying because her cutiemark loses it's meaning.
But in most cases, they would work themselves... To Death, except their body would still go through the motions.

Wouldn't it just be constant Eclipses before that happen? Atleast in the early stages (1 and 2 specifically) with stage two the sun and moon would rotate faster and more....violently, like loosing control of a bicycle while going downhill until the eventual "crash"

Thus is the first time I saw fluttershy or twillight not get infected. Both of them already went through so much, so I'm happy they're realitively ok
ive seen other AUs where the alicorns are immune and fluttershy was with discord, safe. Those aus are awesome and have a lot of love put into them

she diiiid survive being butchered but ermmm that was defenetly alot
@@Sparkle8205 and it turned out she wasnt immune later, she just had another infection in her organs instead, that killed off the other one on her wings in a civil war
And Pinkie for that matter, Pinkie's usually pretty nuts when sick in these things. I only saw one where she was immune and she was sacrificed for a cure but it didn't work and they got a mutated infection instead. The only infection Au where she's still normal is the Sombra based illness.

Wow, i love this au so much, i imagine twilights version of the infection would be her actively trying to learn and looking for information 24/7 (i know her cutie mark was obtained via magic but she already has an obssesion with books so why not kick it up a notch) heck she wouldnt even know shes infected cause shed activly be trying to look for the cure and i like to think that by the time she finds the cure, shed be too far gone and start to immideatly start learning more things

Adding onto this concept, what if when Twilight realizes that there is no more knowledge available in Equestria for her to learn, her cutie mark forces her to use magic to wipe her own memory of every single thing she's learnt. Not only would this mean that, on the hypothetical she found a cure, a cure'd be lost, but she'd lose memory of everything she's learnt. Including the ponies she knew, to possibly even basic things like walking, eating, etc. All so she could learn them over again.
"Here's the cure, now leave so that I can unlock the truth of reality!"

I think she’d definitely notice the symptoms of an excruciating pain on the side of her butt and veins portruding from her Cutie Mark
Let's just hope the princesses never get infected with your cutie disease. So for Celestia, I just imagine her constantly using her magic to move the sun around the planet, like 24/7. So days would literally last only a few minutes. This could potentially turn the ever moving sun into a sort of microwave effect, cooking the planet.
Luna though would be trapped in an eternal slumber as her disease traps her in the dream realm and no matter what she does, she can't escape. And while she can enter pony's dreams, she can't interact with them and her presence actually causes nightmares while also magically spreading the disease through dream magic, as I think that's a more logical way of this disease spreading, by mere touch or in unicorn's case, magic touch. Whether that be a magic blast or telekinesis.
Cadance however is probably the worst, as she basically forces whatever she sees to fall in love with either her, someone else, and/or something else. This goes to the point that the love spell she casts makes the victim can only think about the object of their affection. On one end of the spectrum, they become practically attached to the object of their 'love'. Forgoing sleep, eating, hygiene, everything just to spend every waking moment with the object they are being forced to 'love'. On the other end though, the 'love' they feel is so great, that they want the object of their 'love' inside them, so they will literally eat the thing they 'love'. Just imagine a pony with hearts in their eyes as they gourge themselves on another pony, or force themselves to burst by shoving literal food down their throats.

Fighter pilots don't hear themselves breaking the sound barrier, so Rainbow's hearing would be fine in that regard. Although, if we're being realistic, the windblast from traveling that fast would make her deaf.
"not hearing" is one thing, "not feeling" on the other hand...
fighter pilots wear helmets and headphones, so good odds those headphones are either noise cancelling, or the plane itself shields the pilot from the noise of a sonic boom.
@@randomocto9842 No because pilots can hear sonic booms from other jets traveling at supersonic speeds if they intersect with that jet's shockwave cone. Pilots can't hear their own sonic booms because the boom created when breaking the sound barrier is like a wake that trails behind the plane. In layman's terms, boomy sounds no reach Rainbow's ears because Rainbow is faster than the boomy sounds she produces.
I wonder what happens to those who don't have a cutie mark yet?
Are they immune? Are they sent away for their own safety? Are there other ponies trying to help by ensuring these markless ponies stay that way?
Or worse, what if the markless are not safe? What if the infection manifests as a desperate desire to find the cutie mark? To the point these fillies and foals practically go missing as they wander aimlessly, waiting to spot something new to try, or think of something they could do? What if the early stage lasts awhile longer for markless paitents, starts as a simple desire to find the cutie mark? The pony would still go to school or work, head home for the night, generally act normal, except they cannot refuse a new opportunity. What if paitent zero joined the cutie mark crusaders unknowing of their own infection? What if paitent zero is a certain lonely little filly with absent parents that rarely goes home?
It makes me think of a movie called Maboroshi (I’ve seen the synopsis but haven’t watched it), where no one in a town is allowed to make any changes to themselves. Maybe fillies/ponies with no cutie marks would have to be contained and isolated to prevent interests from forming to prevent infection
I personally think the disease would act like it does in show if the infectee is a blank flank. It will keep generating cutie mark after cutie mark, rather than the single cutie mark enveloping the pony
I do believe this AU would also do something to Discord, in that he becomes a bit of unstable entity, all the chaos caused by the virus would build. *Maybe he glitches a lot*
He doesn't have a cutie mark, but his physical body is kept around due to chaos so an influx of that would have a bad effect on him.
He has the power to fix everything... But the chaos gave him too much power, that he would in danger the one friend who was spared if he even tries.
*I believe fluttershy would have been in his dimension, and was never exposed.*

Considering his casual antics, he'd probably possess an entire town and have pixels and fluctuation animation processes everywhere.
I really like this au because while its still really dark, it's also feels very connected to the show and it's themes and honestly still something that could potentially be put *into* the show. Obviously if that happened the body horror and gore would he toned down a lot for kiddos (for instance, instead of applejack breaking her bones she'd just be shown being very exhausted and sore, and would be unintentionally knocking down trees with her kicks, rainbow dash would just be uncontrollably speeding everywhere and crashing into everything, and rarity would probably become a literal crystal magnet and would be physically dragged against her will towards the nearest gem) but the overall concept is perfect for the show. It even comes with a fitting lesson- its great to have interests and talents that you're happy with and proud of, but you should still have balance in your life and make room for rest/socializing/having an identity outside of it and not letting your interest consume you and take over your entire life and being

What if Twilight being the element of magic would have her either try to gain more power or start shooting people with her horn? Or maybe the unexpected is she becomes immune because of the fact the disease wouldn't know how to do anything with her talent cuz its magic. Or its cuz of the fact Twi is already having a tendency to stress herself.
And for Fluttershy I can't help but think that bcuz her element was for the animals she thought it wouldn't be as bad at first until her food storage runs out. So the disease has her feed herself to the animals! 😢
But those are just my theories and guesses XD

Other random ideas i had for this au:
Starlight:
-If the flower (from the cutie-pox episode) fails, Starlight Glimmer could become a vital charecter when it comes to removing their charecters. This however, could make a harsh/breaking desision for starlight, as it would mean to repeat a horrid part of her past again, a thing which she truly fears. Idk i think that it'd be a cool charecter arc.
-To continue with this, Starlight is powerful, but sometimes she can get extremely carried away, and be extremely ambitious. A dangerous chance of her being infected.
-I think that either thorax and/or spike would be good choices to keep Starlight from trying anything too extreme, like protectors or guides. They have shown to calm her down before, so i think that theyd fit the role well as her gaurdians.
Spike:
-At first when/if twilight is infected, Spike begs to stay with her to help her, being that he doesnt have a cutie mark, but twilight before losing it, might beg him to run and/or finding starlight, or somewhere safe.
(Kind of like that one crystal empire special)
- will be able to have a higher chance of safety from destruction with a smaller size..i think.
-if their IS a way you would want him to be infected, perhaps you could make his spikes hurt and be really painful, but not taking him over like the others. (This might work because of that one episode where he is called by the map.) :>
Changelings/Thorax:
-because of this virus, i thought itd be a good sub-plot/obstacle of Thorax banning any changling, from shapshifting into a pony. It could be due to parinoia, or perhaps they would actually be infected with their false cutie marks, who knows? :0
The infection may find a way....
-Thorax has been shown to be accepting of different quests, so i feel like he would pair up with Starlight and Spike.
- While hes gone, he might leave his brother in charge. (Maybe, i think-)
-definitely, thorax would be the one who keeps the group from falling apart. He is very calm and gentle, and has kept those qualitys even when in danger like in season six. He may find it hard to harm other ponies to stop them from causing harm, but the two things combined may find help quite nicely for good charecter dynamics.

i love these sososososo much !! i love that you didn’t go with rarity’s love for fashion, but !! i did have a little idea as an alternative for her, constantly sewing is obviously not good for you physically because it results in bad posture, back pain, hand cramps etc so that could’ve been played into really well !! she could have bent her spine out of shape, leaving her permanently hunched over, and had her hooves be all cut up and sore. on top of that, it could’ve gotten to a point where she physically couldnt get up from her sewing machine to fetch needles or pins so she could be using her own legs as pin cushions. though that is just my own idea and i absolutely love what you went with !! this feels so original in comparison to all else i’ve seen :D

Theres a episode in the show (That i can't really remember the name) ,where big mac couldn't help in a apple seaseon because of some trouble, and applejack starts doing all the work herself, refusing to get any help or sleep. You really made a dark version of that episode, i am looking foward to this!

I'm wondering how this would affect Shining Armor, since his cutie mark seems to be based around wanting to protect people. I think that maybe he would either over use his magic to keep others safe or he would isolate himself to the point of insanity to keep himself from spreading the disease to anyone else.
He’d probably become so obsessed with protecting cadence and the baby he wouldn’t eat or sleep

the mlp apocolypse aus have been awesome! im glad theyre coming back! i remember back in the golden days of g4 when all there was was the smile HD stuff and the Rainbow factory creepypastas, i really missed this time in the community so im glad its making a come back your au is fantastic and so are the designs!

Makes me think about what would happen to the Cutie Mark Crusaders. Everybody’s Cutie Marks start taking them over, and the CMC’s talents are helping others to find and understand their Cutie Marks. Do they look for foals to “help” them get their Cutie Marks when these foals no doubt want nothing more than to never get a Cutie Mark now? Do they force them to do things against their will? Maybe the foals all start hiding from them and leave them with no way to feed the compulsions. After that, would they see the ponies around them being affected by their Cutie Marks like this and know that there’s nothing they can do to help? What kind of torture would they go through, being compelled to do something until they drop, but it’s something unobtainable because it’s incurable and they can’t stop it?

God damn is this good. One of the main weaknesses I’ve seen with Infection AUs is that they tend to (heavily) rely on stills and graphics from the show and official content; while the edits can be very good, it’s still noticeable. Seeing one with custom art - and so far, damn solid art - is a nice change of pace, as well as it being a take on the Cutie Pox.
Looking forward to seeing where this goes.
AJ's reminds me a bit of the Apple Sleep Experiment Grimdark story where she ends up not being able to sleep and breaking a leg at some point
On MLP infection AUs, some of my favorites have come from being inspired by things in the show. Black Tree Disease being a reference to a throwaway line from Granny in Where The Apple Lies and Rainbow Mouth Disease coming from the prank in 28 Pranks Later are the main two. So I'm definitely invested in this.

I honestly found that episode to be terrifying. Imagine no longer having control of your own body, unable to rest with no known cure as you're doomed to work your body to death.
Yes I know the episode didn't go that deep into it, but the concept is still very much there.
Oh this is an interesting take. I'm not usually not the biggest fan of these zombie apocalypse AUs and gore yet for some reason I've been fascinated with these infection AUs for MLP. I also like how you used show lore to make this one. Others I've seen have used Everfree Forrest or the Swamp Fever from the episode that introduced Mage Meadowbrook and those have been my favorites cause of using show lore

For rainbow dash, shed actually die pretty fast due to the gravity being forced onto her body making all her blood go into her back hooves and not be able to flow throughout her body. Also rd reminds me of that one pony.mov where she kills everyone from a sonic rainboom, aj reminds me of apple sleep experiment, i was afraid rarity was gonna go towards rarity's new patterns but i was surprised it didnt.
I've just recently discovered the disease stuff circling around with MLP, and this is honestly one of my favorite ones so far! I wish to see the other ponies, please! I'm also curious if you're cool with people making fan-versions of this disease you made?

I can see why the village from Story of the Blanks fear cutie marks
I remember finding the game Story of the Blanks in the past & it was apparently before the Cutie Pox episode(at least from what TV Tropes had to imply), while they wrongfully hurt a filly over her getting her cutie mark this infection/disease would be a good explanation for why they're scared of a pony getting their cutie mark cause who knows what could happen & how messed up cutie mark related diseases can get
I had this exact idea in mind for an Au and was even making it. Mine was a cutie mark curse that creates specialized deaths for each characters special talent. I'm sad to know my idea isn't the original, and now I'm tempted to just scrap the whole project and make something else.

Holy crap why is the beginning of Apple jack’s description reminding me of “An Apple sleep experiment”
I wonder how you’d do Twilight, since she’s one of the many characters who’s Talent is just sort of generally being good at learning magic. Would she just be in an endless loop of researching new spells she doesn’t know and randomly practicing those spells without warning?
And like what about Fluttershy? Her Talent is her ability to take care of and speak to animals, so would she be forcing her care onto others? Like obsessively doing every little thing even if the animal doesn’t want anything to do with her?
I love this AU so much! One small correction for Rainbow, though: when breaking the sound barrier, the person that is doing the sound-barrier breaking does not actually hear the sonic boom that goes off. This is part of why it's so dangerous to break the sound barrier: you literally cannot tell that you're doing it. I do agree with others saying that the heat from the constant flying and air resistance would destroy her, though. Great ideas so far! I can't wait to see more!

This is so cool! Rarity reminded me of something! In G1 there were 'twinkle eyed' ponies who literally had gemstones instead of eyeballs!! They are lovely but so morbid
I LOVE your designs and I also came up with another idea for Rarity. This one starts with heavier psychological effects than physical. She becomes even more of a perfectionist and doesn’t even eat or sleep because she’s spending all her time on the “perfect” design. If she finds a flaw in what she’s making, real or imagined, she’ll take the entire thing apart and try to remake it. She’s also constantly trying on her projects to make sure they’re perfect.
Because the effects aren’t as obvious (at first) as AJ’s Rainbow Dash’s and because she’s constantly wearing full outfits, at first others don’t realize she’s infected, potentially making her a super-spreader as customers still try to come by. But as time goes by, others finally realize she’s not eating, sleeping or even opening and closing the store. She’s obsessively taking apart everything around her and redesigning it to be perfect. Eventually she’s barely even in there and her creations only have a somewhat recognizable pattern because she’s just going through the motions now and processing very little of anything she does.
Sort of like a worse version of Inspiration Manifestation.
This is such an interesting concept, i was literally thinking about something like this the other day! XD

I’d say honestly that Rarity’s Talent is essentially finding the beauty in things, as she got her Cutie Mark when she found beautiful gemstones hidden inside an initially dull looking rock. So it could be neat if sort of like in the Inspiration Manifestation episode, she goes around to find people and locations and stuff to try and force them to look more beautiful perhaps
I also like the idea of rarity trying to use the gems to make her BODY the fashion piece

Jokes aside, I absolutely love this stuff. Most of my stuff is cute and round, but at heart, any and all horror/gore art is my favorite. So I love when they're combined!

I really like what you did with Rainbow Dash here, it kinda reminds me of what a zombified Flash does in DCeased. I like to think her Rainbooms are carrying the virus through the air, spreading it much farther and much faster than normal
i love this au and it’s definitely one of the most creative ones I’ve ever seen! i love your grotesque designs. ive never been really sensitive to gore so what i see is some sick as hell stuff keep it up!! 🔥🔥
my immediate thought upon finishing the video was "i wonder what kind of torture my OC would go through" but then i realize i never figured out their talent, just slapped a cutiemark on them and forgot about their existence for the rest of time LOL (the cutie mark is literally icicles on fire, because their name is Fireicy......... don't judge, i made them when i was like, 11 LOL)

Hey its ok! I actually thought that the cutie mark is really cool! I even thought of some possible ideas, if that's ok lol
1: one thing I thought of, was that the cutie mark could represent a desire in them to do the impossible, or to defy what is known/said in general. A contrarian, or a, "dare devil," to be presise. If the cutie mark were to be infected, perhaps they will be forced to do increasingly reckless tasks, refusing to do what literally anyone/anything says, causing immense chaos.
2: One other thing that the cutie mark could possibly represent, is the ability to bring opposing sides together, a peacemaker of opposite sides, like fire, and ice! I'm not sure what would happen to the cutie mark in this version, but the concept is cool.

4: OK, one more, this one is serious, I promise! What if your ocs talent, is to warm ponies cold hearts..?

They might be very compassionate, caring, and persistent, even with those who are cold-hearted, warming up their hearts in the process.
If this was cursed, perhaps they would continually help others, to the point of completely ignoring their own needs. Slowly they would deteriorate and fall apart, wishing for a break they could never get...(unless of course there cured. ^^)

For twilight, she would be constantly casting difficult spells or even dangerous ones, or she uses alicorn magic till she dies or exhaustion or gets consumed by the crystals created from alicorn magic (all-a king sombra style).
Pinkie Pie is kinda weird though… Her talent is to help others be happy, so she would probably start by “trying to cheer everyone up” after this sickness starts to spread, until the others realize that she never brings a stop to the party even after days on end. Pinkie never sleeps, but she is eating and drinking, and other-wise acts normally, until tears start to fall from her eyes despite smiling and telling jokes for days-on-end, and eventually dies from lack of sleep after 2-3 weeks.
Fluttershy? Her talent is talking to animals, so It think that eventually she would just be unable to talk to any intelligent creatures that could already talk with ponies (dragons, changelings, yaks, etc) and could ONLY communicate with animals, and eventually dies in their care, alone.

Did you know that eardrums can heal? And if they don’t heal on their own then there are surgeries. I actually really like the idea that Dashie has permanent hearing damage from her first rainboom, but not because her eardrums burst and never recovered, but because the little “hairs” in your ears responsible for your hearing can be damaged from extremely loud noises and they cannot come back.

This is awesome!! I love all the designs and I've been waiting for someone to make an au based on wasting disease. It's such a scary disease. It's like rabies in the sense that it controls the person and kills them slowly.
I feel like Rarity would get her hoofs badly chipped from grinding them against rocks to dig for gems too. Maybe she would get bad cysts or rounded scabs that crack and definitely be really skinny from not eating, and all the others too.
4:15 probably one of the most relatable things ever for anyone who draws/writes is just apologizing to characters for the great yet also intensive plots you put them through

I know next to nothing about MLP, but I am a neurology and infectious disease enthusiast and specifically fascinated by prion diseases so I tapped on this video immediately.
This infection AU made me think of a condition that could be like a counter to it.
Missing Cutie Mark Syndrome is a genetic disorder that disables the pony from earning cutie marks. Meaning that no matter how talented one with MCMS is, they’ll always remain a Blank Flank. This disability often leads to mental disorders such as depression, however due to recent activities involving Cutie Marks it would mean that those with MCMS could actually have a high chance of surviving the Cutie Mark Wasting Disease without the help of magic, this newfound confidence helped decrease the risks of ‘dangerous’ activities from those with MCMS
After years of escaping and resisting this fandom's deadly grasp, it has taken hold of me once again. I will dive back into this fandom with new eyes, new beliefs, and more calloused trauma to soften its blows. I hope that when I do this, it won't reopen old wounds.

fr, i love Rainbow dash and i knew where you were going with this since i love the realism in stuff like this! when you brought up the blindness, damages, and even deaf Rainbow would be, i swear i was nodding like " yessss!" plus i know that i wouldnt even try saving her cause she would probably go right through me if i tried to help her.

So a couple of months ago i decided to make an au based on the episode 28 pranks later, then this au trend got popular and i think its a sign i should continue on my au lol. Gave me a bunch of ideas.
I love that Rarity kind of mirrors the twinkle-eyed ponies lore, where ponies were enslaved and forced to work in mines collecting gem stones for an evil wizard. They went blind due to being in the dark for so long. But when Applejack defeats the wizard, his gemstone throne shatters and shards of it are lodged into the ponies' eyes, giving them a gemstone look and restoring their eyesight

She is so obsessed with finding them that when she’s unable to carry them, she stuffs them in her own body to carry around easily. Idk why my mind went there, but that would be messed up if she did.
