Vieb looks nifty, glad to hear it's not bogged down like Surf. I've recently embraced command line file management and had almost dropped PCManFM from my regularly used applications. In fact, I flat out ditched it a couple days ago and started to use YAD to take care of drag-and-drop. Nice list of productivity software, roll hard on those for us, appreciated! Take care.
Logseq user here and I use it pretty much on a daily basis, as my activity log, outliner and personal wiki. It's not all that close to Notion at all, as August Bradley recently found out. I would say that it's much closer to Roam, as that is what inspired the app's creator in the first place. I would recommend Bibisco, for an open-source writing app, as an alternative to Scrivener. Ta for recommending Vieb, I'll certainly take a look at it!
I've used vieb for over a couple of months before, and it's really good. I really liked the simple look and it being keyboard based, and it's fairly minimal and customizable. My only problem with it is that I had to use another browser whenever I had to open a google account because google doesn't seem to support this browser. I had to use a google account for work reasons so I eventually needed to switch to a more mainstream browser. But overall, it should have been my choice for a browser.
I really like MarkText, but it has a lot of bugs. Mostly because i got tired of the old version and downloaded an alpha one. You can say that the bugs are because of its state, but the old version (before 17.0) has a lot of bugs too. I'd still recommend MT, but be careful. Great video! Btw, I also hate solarized lol
Inspired me to try Logseq. Agree on the Solarized theme, but for whatever reason I actually was able to install the Nord Theme Plugin so I'm happy. Thank you!
No new apps for me in this one, but a pretty decent selection. I'm a heavy logseq user and it's true it has a bit of a learning curve, but it's worth it. I think the themes from the extension marketplace still don't work properly (unless you enable developer mode ?), but you can manually add a .css file to your graph folder change the theme. Marktext may be the ideal free markdown editor for me. Has all the features I need and the writing experience is decent, unlike may others I've tried
vieb is electron based browser, so it use blink under the hood. And it pretty fresh I would say. All interface was developed using javascript, so it more native to the browser as qute. Unfortunately you can't configure it via javascript or any programming language, so it limited to vimrc like config file, but the autor is very open to extend API and config options. And this is only one chrome based browser, which support firefox container feature. Unfortunately some google services is not working correctly in Vieb and thats only downside I have with this browser.
i've been using marktext and it's perhaps the best markdown editor for linux but I think Apostrophe is worth a look. It's a markdown editor made by gnome if you haven't looked at it before.
The best one I know is for the Ubuntu Podcast. The Podcast isn't going anymore, but the telegram group is still really good. I find Discord to be better for that type of thing.

Krusader has my heart. I do use Ranger, but Krusader is so integral to my workflow, I can't leave it behind
Good video, and +1 for the vocabulary word near the end.
11:44 Oh hello there!

Just use vimium extension for FF or Chromium based for keyboard navigation
Marktext is written in electron btw

Where can I sign up to beta-read the novel? ;)
For markdown I use Obsidian Appimage on Ubuntu.

idk dude both Mark Text and Logseq runs on electron

For note taking, I like Joplin
All very good choices, but user beware, Mark Text and Logseq are Electron apps.
batcat make also the job for markdown...
None of these are emacs.
This is not an original comment. LOL
Your existence isn't emacs.
Any telegram or whatsapp group for linux discussion?
