Wot ever you decide. Be nice to see it used as a daily runner. Wot ever you decide I be watching you all the way ❤🛠🚗
Hi a shell that good has to be saved for Shaw i think sell it and reinvest knowing you're saved 1 more 🤞🤞👍
I would go with option 3, it's a very solid car. Use the money to fix up Christine 👍🏻
The cortina estate is for sale maybe Pete might want it 2.3 auto
@@minisareus I don't think Pete will be buying any more mini.
@@minisareus i have this car on my channel a lot as been done to it since i have had it
Definitely worth saving, be nice if you could carry on with rusty and build this in the future
na, don't cut her up, let her live, you said it yourself, your a Capri man, get road worthy, someone else will keep the line going, and use the cash on Rusty......you know it makes sense...respect
Keep going with the first Capri, the one we've all been following. It's a mammoth task, but you've come a fair way with it. Give up now, and you'll have wasted all your efforts, not to mention disappointing a lot of people who had high hopes for this car. You have years ahead of you to do the new Capri, which seems a lot better.
You need to save it mate. You are, after all, Saint Jamie, patron saint of Capris and role model to all us would be owners and restorers!😀👍
Very good capri shall
I see a couple of options here.
The new Capri is pretty solid and doesn’t look like it would take much to tidy up body wise. Therefore, if it was me, I would potentially think of cutting my losses with rusty at this stage and use the interior / parts from rusty to make the new Capri good and put that back on the road instead. OR another option (if you love rusty that much) is sell the new Capri and the Cortina project together and chuck all the money at rusty to get that done.
I personally think you would be mad to cut the new capri up!
Hope that helps 😁
Keep going on rusty don't give up and next project the new one Capri definitely worth saving 😁
Also be nice to see you do it up ready to sell on.
Keep going with rusty 💯
I would like to see videos of the work on new Capri it would be a shame to cut it up a good car, my personal opinion is have the welding, full respray and underseal done also put in the glass and sell at good price and put the money on rusty.
My view is get the project completed as quick as you can. If projects go on to long, they often get abandoned, for stupid reasons normally! You make the choice Jamie. Your the person that's paying out on everything!
By the way, I'd very much like a 2.3 Cortina. 30 grand car if it was restored right. Unfortunately the days of me crawling under cars are now behind me 😁
Just seen u we were in the tiny blue Peugeot in Leicester City center
Lol :D
I would do it up and sell it on and use the funds to restore Rusty. That means that there'll be 2 more Capris on the road so happy days all round.
Very nice shall needs doing mate 💯💯💯❤️👍
i dont think you have a screw loose the reason i subscibed is the fact you are saving cars that no one else would do in a million years and thats what i love im really looking forward to the cortina rebuild i would have had the cortina in the unit with me lol so i can keep looking at my next rebuild keep up the great work :)
Carry on with Rusty and do the blue one and do a deal with me on the blue one on one of my vw 👍as I know you like classic vw as well
Build the new shell with the parts from rusty.
That's a hard one it's a good shell with original panels save alot of time and fit 100%. No log book would been a easy one cut up. Think you got to look at money and time to flip it. how much money at the would be made 🤔 or use the panels and sell parts not used. What ever you do Jamie I will still watch you chanel all day long bud 👍
i am really inpressed with what you have already done to rusty i know for a fact this car is going back on the road with blood sweat ant tears hahaha i want more videos i just get into it and it ends grrr hahaha i knew the moment you said you have another capri coming that you would look at it and get attached and not want to cut it up hahaha just new it we are not ment to get attached to our parts cars but it is very hard to be the one to cut it up and end its future fix her sell her another one saved
Hi,enjoying watching the progress on Christine.
Personally, unless the blue one is a particularly rare base model which would be worth doing separately I don't think the money it would make would out way using it as a 'donor' ,it's missing all the specific trim etc and you would put a lot of time and effort into it whilst neglecting Christine.
I'd use it as a donor for everything you need, carefully unpick the spot weld and maybe have those bits blasted as you go,repair them where you need to and then put onto Christine as you would a new old stock item, you'd only be doing this with what's on her own parts anyway ?
Anything left that's useful and you don't need part out to other owners to help them keeping a few other cars on the road, you would probably cover the costs of the second shell and you would have all the panels you need for your own for free.
Keep up the good work 👍
Judging by the decals on the wings (34:50) you have a 1.6 Cabaret model, and with a quick search on howmanyleft there's about 100 of them models left taxed/sorn. Mine being one of them, in my opinion, fix what you can on it then sell on for cash for rusty. A rare underdog that needs saving.
A fair bit of work involved but as you can do it all yourself I think it is worth saving. Even basic non running 1600cc fetch silly money these days.
I'd say, the more Capri's that are saved and put back on the road the better. So do it up, sell it to get money to carry on with rusty. You have spent far too many hours to not carry on you end up with a great car that you will be proud of.
Let me be the voice of reason Jamie.... keep the new capri.... that's another 20k motor once done... and another one saved
We all want to see Rusty, but, it's worse than you expected,, SO, do this new one up,, to what ever standard you think will produce the best profit,, and show us,, then use the cash,, like you said,, on Rusty 👍🏴
Surely to good to cut up. Have you the time to do one without loosing interest in the first?
Don’t waste your peak life years welding up Rusty, and that ‘Tina… just reshell Rusty to this new shell, and be done with it. Remember all the extra months you’re going to save on rent, and the more time driving a Capri. Apart from some Mot welding, and some dubious wing repairs, you’ve got a great shell there. Life is short, fella… and bills never go away, till you move out.
Whatever you decide DO NOT cut up that Capri. Every one of them is worth saving at this point in time. Unless you intend to keep it just think how to make profit out of it to use the money for Rusty. That’s my honest opinion.
Get the new one blasted do the welding sell it on as a primed shell get good money to spend on the other one
do all of them on the channel mate
I would say it would be mad to cut it up, probably do it up and give it a spray job and sell it on would be good
Alright mate great video have you got drivers door for sale capri mk3 👍
Use the shell to repair your car what would be the point of cutting up a good shell to repair a total rotten shell
Sell the cortina, keep the new capri for later and carry on with rusty the way you are going.
You should definitely fix the new capri, then sell it for as much as you can, and soak them funds into rusty
Seems a shame to cut that one up, I’d probably go with option 3 to be honest, at least that way two capris get saved…
This shell is worlds apart from rusty, and it wont take that long to get back on the road. It would be silly to cut that up. It wouldn't hurt to reuse what's left of rusty and shell it into this one. It still would be a good series anyway as you a still restoring a capri and the project can be still called project rusty anyway because it still needs work anyway. Also things on this are in the right place etc, compared to the chassis of rusty. Be a lot more cheaper. But if you are going to go the full hog with rusty, I would be taking as many chassis measurements etc off this one, and use it as a template to see where things go on rusty, then you can just move it on as it is. My old VVC metro GTA 16v shell was going to be far to expensive to fix. It had already had welding done in the past, by me. A better shell came up, it was a 1.1s. So i thought ok i have the tech and everything anyway. I swopped all the electrics, fuel system and running gear, and subframes, and a few odds and sods over. Kept the 1.1s spec trim and reg.
dont think you get the point lol if you reshell rusty its no longer the same car he wants to rebuild rusty the car he started with the car he collected from the canal that is the project to peopel cars are just metal boxs on wheels lol but to a lot of us they have a soul histery to bring it back from the dead and back o nthe road while he is driving it he is going to be smiling with his achievement that he did that its to easy to swop the parts over to another shell where is the chalange in that no fun at all it would be just another sinple capri but he will be driving one he as saved from beond and will have a name
the bobby looks to solid to cut up ill do the bare minimum to get a runner the sale it on as a bit of a project to past it on as fast as possible. Ivan
I would do the repairs and paint it then sell it on for profit to finish rusty
Just saw u zoom past me
Lol car gets thrashed everywhere lol
Use it for panels
Too good to cut up, do the welding, prime it and sell on as a rolling shell, use the funds for Rusty
If you can flip the new capri for a quick profit do so then concentrate on rusty we all subscribed to see rusty restored.
Yeah, if you cut that up you’ve got a screw loose what do you get up and do the windscreen put the windscreen into_panel do it all up even get it sprayed up and sell it to make money do I need a nap go out and buy a new panels for you free later use new panels, not secondhand panels to buy original panels for wings and a cost you an arm and a leg if you go out and buy original wings so you wouldn’t you can’t hardly get them anyway . that’s what I do. I need to do the file up. What do you want to do up and after you’ve done that do the Cortina 😅😅
why dont you just re shell rusty?
Restore but as it won’t be original make it a modded rat car . 👍
Re shell rusty with it save yourself aload of time and money
i am steering towards this idea too, going on how bad that floor and chassis is on rusty. Plus he has Rusty's running gear and this shell needs running gear.
I wouldn't cut it up mate repair it sell it on
I'd do repairs to donor she'll get it nice and strong and sell far too good to chop up
Cut all the useable panels out of the new capri to repair rusty, rusty is a genuine 3 litre ghia, and what an achievement it would be to restore that back to its former glory! that 2nd capri is a base model nothing special
Do it up and sell it on
make the money
Restore it
There’s no point in selling it unless you are planning to stop doing UA-cam after Christine. These old shells are getting very rare now and you are luckier than you know getting hold of this one. It could easily become another £20k car with about a year’s worth of light repairs. No. Strip off the heavy suspension parts and hoist the shell up towards the ceiling and leave it there until you’ve finished Christine.
Keep the new capri and restore it after rusty
Be a shame to put second hand panels on rusty,do what you need to do on new shell to get the best profit and buy new for rusty!!
