Fantastic video Lee! I can see how much that will help a load of track day riders. Thanks for pulling this together - would love to see more of this type of thing 👍
Brilliant video Lee. Great to see a top rider sharing key info with us mortals - thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it
Good video, also 30years ago I use to Marshall there. Lived in Mojacar . Now I'm up north in Navarra. And Los Arcos is my local track. Looking forward to more videos.
This advice was really helpful for me!
Thankyou
You're so welcome!
Excellent Lee many thanks, good to see and also hear your thought process during the lap. Heading over to Almeria in a few weeks and I'll definitely be applying your top tips. Looking forward to any further training video's down the line. Many thanks again.
Thanks hope you have a good time
@leejohnston great video mate.
Yes more like this would be great, very informative and considered I thought for all levels of riders.. cheers mate
Great video! I'd love to know in a next video how you got comfortable running the bike all the way on the curb on corner exit, without overshooting it into the gravel
Excellent video Lee, thank you for this. 👍👍👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Really interesting video Lee. Your getting really good at this stuff!
Glad you think so!
Fantastic video & info, real nice camera view, videos are getting better & better 👍
More top content Lee, great point about getting your moneys worth out of the tarmac. great to see your line though 3-4. 4-6 is great if you nail the flow. Great view for the inters lads
Thanks 👍
Love it Lee 👏👍👍😁
Thank you Lee for dissecting a lap. It helps the amature racesr like me, Setting up your bum posistion early helps but can you talk more about not lean angle per say but how you drive towards a angel I use my elbow to force it down and push my head down into the corber whine pushing the tank over with my inner thigh for me its setting uo early so I dont bounce a =round the bike and unsettle it in the turn. I might be completly wrong but many of us likely are self taught we have good habits and many bad ones for sure. Keep doing what you are doing its very much appreciated
Great video lee not done almeria but the talking through body position and procedure is really helpful i hope you can get some uk tracks covered 👍🏻
A great video Lee, never be able to replicate this, over 60 and an adventure bike rider😂. Would be great if you could overlay some bike data onto the video, even brake and throttle position would be good, keep the vids coming, great content.
Excellent stuff , hopefully will help some people , enjoyed it ✊✊
Thanks for the kind words
This was excellent, you are a very good teacher Lee. Many of us are like a sack of spuds in the saddle after decades of road riding, takes a lot of effort to move around the bike with an ageing body 🤣
Thanks 👍
Nice one Lee, thanks 👍👍
Glad you enjoyed it
Lee great footage
Could you do an onboard and point out where your looking ?
Great video!
Brilliant, very interesting
Great video, would love to see the same thing at Cadwell Park
Class Lee. Thanks
Great information 👍
Glad it was helpful!
Great video buddy,85kg 😂 I wish don't see many of my mates would get under kgs 100 either 😂 maybe we need the LJ13 fitness & diet plan✊
Maybe one day 🤣 as long as your enjoying riding it’s only a number 👍🏻
Nice one mate great help, now the hard part is getting allowed to get back out there 😂
Haha I’m totally open if you want an email sending saying it’s work related 🤣
@ your going to be able to retire on that idea bud
Hi Lee. I agree with you that Almeria is a great track, and it's good to know where I've gone wrong! A few more like this would be ideal, not so sure about the helmet camera as I'm living the lap as you go round, so I'm already looking for braking points, tipping in, etc. And because your skill levels are way, way, way above mine, when you turn your head to look at what else is happening, I panic!
Yes but when your out riding sometimes what the think your doing ain’t what’s actually happening so you could look back over your footage 👍🏻
@Leejohnston Thanks for your reply Lee, and I totally understand where you're coming from. What I actually meant to say was when I'm watching you in your video, you suddenly turn your head, and my mind is frayed!!
A matey chum of mine has given me very similar advice to this vid and helped me speed up. If you get a chance a throttle application vid would be super. General advice given is you can use more throttle as you get more upright but big choppsy dong holder like you seem to use a lorra lorra throttle even at lean.
Great vid, cheers honks
Your friend is right a a rule of thumb get the bike up onto the fat part of the tyre before getting hard on the throttle this will help your collar bones that’s for sure 🤣
Great video thank you. Would love to know where you are looking at each given point through a corner or series of corners.
Could you do some more of these , particularly the James Whitham tracks you teach at. I want to do more this year after doing my first one last year.
Yea I will be doing more coaching this year so maybe you could be in one of the vlogs from the riders point of view 👍🏻
@ Hi Lee I would be keen to do that with you.
Woolsey Coulter does great trips out in Spain with the ART Academy
The one thing we tell new riders constantly, shoulder check before exiting pit lane and stay behind the blend line, then never look over your shoulder again.
Yes this is true but I was checking again as I new I wasn’t quite up to speed just to be safe and not be on the line if in the way 👍🏻
Can u go over how u trail brake - breaking and giving power😊
Oulton park next 🤞
Enjoyed that but a Cadwell version of the same would be much appreciated please ?
This is definitely an option at some point this year 👍🏻
@ great to hear… will look forward to to that and some warm ☀️in Lincolnshire
A ride along at Cadders would be much appreciated 👌
👌👌
Love hearing the racer's perspective. I haven't ever done a track day. Not good enough. And now I'm into cruisers and old. But spent a big chunk of my life going to and watching racing. And also marshalling. Even done Gp and WSB. I like my racing.
Has the mullet gone with the snow?
Do cadwell park
👍🏻🇨🇦
Definitely mix up the channel content with some more of this.
Thanks will defo try
Am feart to do track days. Don’t want be in folks way. Had a bike accident in 2016 a have limited bend in my right knee + drop foot + am 6ft8 tall a have lowered the pegs on my s1000xr can’t touch edge to edge on my rear tyre more witch is driving me crazy.
I wouldn't want to be in a gunfight duel with you as i dont see you blinking,.
Haha or drop a fiver 🤣
Having a camera inside your crash helmet is really silly....the thing is people see this and then copy the idea.
