Latvia did surprisingly well against the US, especially when you consider that the population of the country is 1,9 million. To field a national team that plays in the top league against rich countries with populations of hundreds of millions is a credit to them.
Well, this was actually one of the worst games we have played against the USA if not the worst I have ever seen.

@@TristanJCumpole During the participation in the world championships in ice hockey, the USSR/Russia national team became the world champion 27 times (and almost always winners). Together with Canada (also 27). These are the best results. Before Russia and Canada - Czechoslovakia/Czech Republic (12 times). So you can have fun playing a fake 2022 cup in the absence of one of the strongest teams.

The United States should make it to the semifinals unless they lose to Sweden, Finland and Czechia. Then they’d play Canada and lose
Finland on Monday, Sweden next Saturday and Czechia next Monday
@@pierresoorden5975 US aren't looking bad this year. I think we (Finland) will have a hard game. I guess it depends on how well Granlund integrates with his first game tonight.

@@valdu6759 Have you noticed the general positive vibe of the championships this year? There's still the usual abusive rar-rar types, but generally everybody seems to be enjoying what looks like a great season for competitive sport. I hope everybody plays a great game and helps prove just how good ice hockey can truly be when everybody plays within the rules and in line with the spirit of the game.

Я думаю это последний ЧМ у сборной Латвии, так как местная команда динамо рига больше не участвует в чемпионате КХЛ опыта больше негде брать,да и в кхл играли отвратительно.На этом ЧМ играет благодаря санкциям против России и Белоруссии,так что больше видимо мы не увидим в ближайшие годы сборную Латвии в элите ЧМ...Хоккей в Латвии практически не какой,смотрел игры молодого поколения,и скажу наши дворовые пацаны лучше играют их,просто нет средств дворовым пацанам заниматса хоккее,много талантов,но заниматса хоккее в Латвии могут только обеспеченных дети,у которых есть все в жизни,поэтому они и играют плохо,больше любят индивидуально выпендриваться.Знаменитые и легенды в основном вырастают из бедных семей,есть цель повысить уровень жизни и помочь своим родителям,а богатенькие сынки это клоуны....
