Just goes to show blastoise signature move hydro pump isnt worth having when you can have the more accurate blizzard which also hurts grass types . We also need surf to go across water haha
I also had the same team, but uses Arcanine as Fire type and for ground if I can have somone trade me their Graveller I'd use Golem. If not i will use Nidoking instead.
With how fast and hard Dodrio hits with STAB moves, it's not all that risky to use them against psychic types, so long as Dodrio hits first or flies up to avoid Psychic. Also, with their normal typing, that does help against all of Agatha's ghost types, leaving them with easily dodged status moves.
Thank you for taking my Snorlax-with-Amnesia suggestion! I’m sure others also had the same idea, and it works. Besides, I’ve been wanting to see Snorlax with a Special move set for a while; especially since it can only work in Generation One.
That's for grinding for EZ elite 4. Because of the badge glitch, just spamming agility and double team against a level 2 pidgey would make the raichu OP. same goes for every pokemon with a status move.
Thunder Wave is probably the best bet. Evasion doesn't get a badge boost so agility won't affect evasion like that. However if you use Double Team after getting Koga's badge, you will get a boost in speed from using it.

I like the way pokemon yellow, red, blue and green sprites look. Wish they bring pokemon yellow, red, blue and green on gameboy to the switch like other old nintendo games
Hitmonlee is the best Fighting type in Gen 1, not out of favouritism but because it has the most Fighting Type moves and learns the best fighting type move in the game, there is no Punching moves that is fighting type, Machamp line only has Low Kick and Submission, Primeape line and Poliwrath only learn submission through TMs
While this is true, the others give you more options to deal with more Pokemon (Especially Chan). And you basically don't need to have Fighting type options when you have Blastoise to deal with Rock types and Normal types are neutral to everything and Go down almost instantly (Except for Snorlax, Tauros and Kangaskhan, who are super rare anyways).
If you wanted to go special snorlax go amnesia bodyslam and any combo of bolt beam or thunder blizzard. Fire blast is useless without stab. As ice hits grass for super. And bugs will die to body slam
Why would you mention using tms on certain ones when they learn the move via leveling? Also, you could wait to do the Missingno glitch to get multiples of a tm if you want to use it again.
Odd moveset choices here. Give thunder wave to Raichu, it's a great move and you need something to status legendary birds and Mewtwo to catch them. Submission on Blastoise is pointless, even something like withdraw would be better here. Give Hitmonlee Seismic toss to hit ghosts, and Dodrio needs Hyper Beam. The Snorlax looks quite fun though.
@AccidentalGenius You do need something to status legendaries in gen 1 or the balls just keep on missing. Seismic toss hits ghosts in gen 1. Submission non STAB, only 80 damage and 80 accuracy plus horrible recoil. STAB surf is going to do more damage usually, with the exception of Chansey. It already has EQ as a better physical attack. Withdraw is much better because of the badge boost glitch, so it's boosting all stats, not just defence. Maybe needed isn't the right word, but hyper beam on Dodrio is awesome due to stab and it's sky high attack and crit rate.
@@west7965 Withdraw can trigger the badge boost glitch for set up (Look it up if you don't know what it is) and Submission has poor accuracy and recoil. Blastoise doesn't really need fighting coverage either. Was going to use this team in fire red...then I saw Snorlax’ move set. Can I replace Amnesia with something that would raise its special attack stat? Amnesia in generation 2 onwards only raises special defence. Edit: there’s actually a few moves I need to swap out. I’ll have to swap out submission for brick break on Blastoise and replace pay day on Raichu for something else (was looking forward to some extra coinage in my wallet as well).
For raichu you could have given it submission to be able to deal with the rock types which are also partial ground types like onix , golem and rhydon. You can get submission as many times as you like as you can purchase the tm from the celadon department store.
What about hm moves?i assume your blastoise had surf ? And dodrio had fly?Who had cut.?flash?and strength? I say make a team and sacrafice a move slot for a hm move for each pokemon team member. It can be a pain but it sure beats having to keeo depositing a team member to take out a hm slave.

I have Hitmonlee on my Sword File and honestly I've been searching for a nice Clobbopus/Grapploct but I can't seem to let go of my kicky little fiend. 🙁 His stat total isn't so great, but he's got blaze kick which so fun to use and it's one of my favorite moves. His other moves are jump kick, brick break & fake out. I've always thought he was way cooler than Chan, but have a new found respect after playing Sword for a while. I think Hitmonchan sorta is the better mon just because he has access to all the elemental punches so that obviously offers insane coverage and dizzy punch is decent too. However I'd say that Lee is the better FIGHTING pokémon.
They are, but counterparts aren't always equal necessarily. Chan is defensive and Lee is offensive. It's just my opinion from my experience playing the games. I think Hitmonchan has the better movepool, but Hitmonlee is a better, stronger fighting type. Kinda like box art legendaries, one is often better than the other.
@@steel.9714 you could give that a try, but I think it would be slightly redundant to have two fighting types with the same stat total. That's my point. To me, one fills the role of a fighting type better simply because it hits harder with its stab.
Just sayin hitmonlee has a much better special than hitmonchan, i believe at least. Id also like to point out that idv kept body slam over thunder, just because of the accuracy.

Snorlax's set wasn't bad by itself, but Snorlax only has 65 base special, so even with buffs, it won't hit terribly hard.
I thought you usually went in order of what you could capture first
Why do you not put blizzard on pokemon in gen 1 games
Also Body Slam over Double Team
So what about the hms? You couldn't beat the game with this team
Bruh this was like my exact team when i was 7 lol
Aren't Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan sides of a same coin?
They are, but counterparts aren't always equal necessarily. Chan is defensive and Lee is offensive. It's just my opinion from my experience playing the games. I think Hitmonchan has the better movepool, but Hitmonlee is a better, stronger fighting type. Kinda like box art legendaries, one is often better than the other.
@@renna4216 What if we use both of them at once like some doubles?
@@steel.9714 you could give that a try, but I think it would be slightly redundant to have two fighting types with the same stat total. That's my point. To me, one fills the role of a fighting type better simply because it hits harder with its stab.
This team could also work for FRLG
Yes but with Movesets change
Typing this before it starts: $5 says snorlax is in it. He finds a way to stick snorlax in any team
Told y’all
I officially am first. Happy 25 years of pokemon
Just sayin hitmonlee has a much better special than hitmonchan, i believe at least. Id also like to point out that idv kept body slam over thunder, just because of the accuracy.
raichu learns payday?
Pikachu learns thunderbolt at lvl26 right? So you can save the TM for some body else
Not in RB he doesn't.
@@shadowdragonlord2295 oh well my mistake, must be in pokemon yellow forward
@@KuriFox yep.
Nice
I think primeape has better coverage than hitmonlee, plus you get it earlier
