How good would a move that is every single type be ACTUALLY? Edit: Actually, I'll answer this myself, because now I'm legitimately interested. It's a really complicated question, and you would assume such a move would be OP, but would it be really? For starters, such a move would be totally walled out by Normal, Ghost, Ground, Flying, Dark, Steel, and Fairy types, as well as Pokemon with the abilities Levitate, Lightning Rod, Water Absorb, Flash Fire, Dry Skin, Justified, Motor Drive, Sap Sipper, Storm Drain, and Volt Absorb. That list contains a TON of Pokemon, so not off to a great start. Here is a list of the rest of the type weaknesses and resistances. Basically, if a type has more weaknesses than resistances, it will be super effective. If it has more resistances than weaknesses, it will be not very effective. Including immunities again just to have them comparable to overall super-effectiveness at a glance. Immune: Normal, Flying, Ground, Ghost, Steel, Dark, Fairy 1/8: Fire 1/4: Poison, Water, Electric 1/2: Dragon Neutral: Fighting, Bug 2x: Rock, Grass, Psychic 8x: Ice Overall, two neutrally hit types, four types that are hit super effectively, although the rare Ice type is the only type that is hit harder than normal. Dragons resist, while four other types are even more resistant than normal, especially Fire types, which would shrug off hits with ease. And of course you've got the *seven immunities.* Yikes. Just about the only thing that saves this from being utterly terrible is the fact that this move would get double-STAB on a dual type Pokemon, meaning it hits twice as hard as it's stated power. In this instance, the chart becomes this: 1/4: Fire 1/2: Poison, Water, Electric Neutral: Dragon 2x: Fighting, Bug 4x: Rock, Grass, Psychic 16x: Ice Since we've still got seven types that resist, meaning to total number of types that "resist" is still 11 compared to 6 types hit super effectively with one neutral hit, overall the resistances definitely win out, and more often than not, the move will be not very effective. Ice and Rock types have become fairly rare and grass isn't very prominent, so awesome. You can hit Psychic types for 4x effectiveness, but that's the only common OU type you hit extra hard. And most of the common OU types are immune to your hits. You'd be better off using a monotype move. Unless you are an Arceus that is every type at once firing off effective base 147790 power Judgements. Seven types are immune to you, but you'd smite everything else.

@@randyrandalman8234 Jeez as if there is any better place to do competitive singles. It's not like you can't use something when smogon bans it lol. Just move up the tiers until its legal (e.g Ubers, AG).
@@redwarrior118 You're right - smogon's the best among the crappy options we got for singles. The problem with the "just move up the tiers" approach is that it the upper tiers (especially AG, a tier created b/c Mega Rayqueza) are not nearly as popular as OU, the staple format of singles with most players. I don't have an issue with moving pokes with overpowered stats into uber, but when you start banning specific attacks (e.g. Baton Pass, which is even banned in ubers lol), then it enters the realm of subjectivity and people wanting to ban stuff because they personally don't like it or aren't creative enough to metagame around it
@@randyrandalman8234 The thing with Baton Pass, ANY pokemon could be the recipient of those juicy stat boosts. SM introduced the two best baton pass recipients OU has ever seen: Magearna (access to Soul Heart and 140 BP signature fairy move), and regular Necrozma (access to a bevy of boosting moves, high all around stats, and access to stored power). This was way too much for OU to handle. You could read the Smogon post here www.smogon.com/forums/threads/baton-pass-in-sm-ou.3604290/ Banning these sort of stuff isn't exactly done by one guy either, it's done by community. Smogon usually raises pretty good points on why a certain thing should be banned to create a healthy metagame.
@@redwarrior118 I'm pretty sure Baton Pass was banned before SM, Magearna, or Necrozma even existed. Besides the strength of Baton Pass isn't about the recipient poke rather maintaining the chain of boosts along the way. U can even use Magikarp as the finisher for maximum fun. While Smogon loves swinging a its ban-hammer like a big stick towards anything that disrupts it's beloved spikes+rocks, I prefer letting players adapt with alternative strategies to evolve the metagame through a more freeform approach over the inherently subjective ban hammer. What does a "healthy metagame" even mean?
I'm a massive fan of Horsea, Seadra and Kingdra. Really liked Kingdra, and is one of my favourite gen 2 pokemon. It was actually really strong for that gen.
Random Person Dragonite doesn't need a mega. It would just setup thanks to Multiscale and wreck everything next turn when it mega evolves. Garchomp and Salamence are at least at risk of a stray HP Ice, while Dragonite can even tank a non-STAB Ice Beam and setup.
I remember battling Kingdra at the battle tower in crystal in level 100 and what a hassle it was to take down cause it ran a rest set almost all the time and its balanced stats. It was the reason I ran a ‘curse-lax’ just to take it out 😁
i started playing during johto but i know its starters aren't impressive, at least in competitive formats. i would prefer to see hoenn starters by far! exception: make an unpredictable typhlosion as a special all rounder with extracensory and let everybody go NUTS. there's more than zapdos and heat wave out there.
I'll have you know Feraligatr has been running rampant in the lower tiers ever since it got dragon dance. I mean, it's no OU but being one of the best of the worst is something, right?
I remember 6-0ing some teams in gen VI OU with my Sniper Kingdra And I also remember some ragequits after a surprise Draco Meteor OHKO on Mega Venusaur, I could feel the salt from the other side
if it gets a mega, they need to clean up it's stats Ability: Adaptability HP: 75 Attack: 125 Defence: 100 Sp Atk: 125 Sp Def: 100 Speed: 115 ~ Dragon Dance / Aqua Ring ~ Outrage / Dragon Pulse / Draco Meteor ~ Waterfall / Muddy Water ~ Aqua Jet / Ice Beam

Scolipede with the crit boosting berry and baton pass is a great way of getting the 100% crit Kingdra out on the field. Speed boost not only makes it fast when it's out there but without the need for its own focus energy or agility you can give it a full four attacking moves for maximum offensive variety.
This is why I still ran swift swim on always Kritdra with this super gimmicky rain team in college, losing the attack buff sucked, but outspending threats was priority
Yeah. Especially since you can't get any Dragon type prior to battling it, meaning it has no weakness. Or well, although Steelix does learns Dragonbreath it's no real threat considering the lack of STAB and Steelix's poor Special Attack stat.
In the Pokédex for Sword: “when kingdra and dragonite cross paths, a fierce battle ensues” which does seem more plausible than how whirlpools form when Kingdra yawns. Kingdra likely would’ve become a top tier Pokémon within the competitive scene, had Politoed not been banned from providing drizzle for generation 5, but oh well.
This thing is the best it's been since before the complex ban in gen 7, due to pelliper's ability to set rain and uturn out, rain is amazing and the only weather worth building around in s/m ou.
Rain is so busted this gen it's not even funny, mostly because of Pelipper, Kingdra and Hawlucha. Unless you have a Tangrowth or Venusaur, opposing weather or fat shit, you're going to have a bad time against Rain
kingdra and mamoswine carried my team when I first played soulsilver. Ampharos was good, ninetales/meganium were ok but xatu was sort of relegated to flying me places and getting a battle if it could hit something with psychic cause I didn't realize some pokemon are more meant for status/support. But jeez, managed to get draco meteor from platinum and with surf it just swept through whatever it fought.
I went CRAZY with sniper critdra in OU. I almost always got at least one ko with it. It was so crazy that it helped carry my monotype dragon team when i brputht it ovee to regular ou. It was quite impressive. But hey whatevs the less people who knew about it the more likely it was to take people off guard lol
As a rain team trainer, I can tell you one strategy you didn’t mention that shows where Kingdra shines. I’ve used this in doubles for two years, and it works amazingly- Max Special Attack, Max Speed, Modest Swift Swim Scope Lens Focus Energy Hydro Pump Draco Meteor Flash Cannon Nobody expects this to work, and it can knock out entire teams with Damp Rock Politoed/Pelipper’s aid. Anything weak to it or doesn’t resist it is gonna go away. Your only saviors are Scarfed Invested Dragons, Eviolite Chansey, and Focus Sash, but then again it is in doubles, so that survival often isn’t long.

How GOOD were Poliwrath & Politoed ACTUALLY?
Silver Gaming and poliwarth
I was considering it, I edited it to Poliwrath and Politoed then edited it back.
Silver Gaming I think Poliwrath and Politoed have too different of playstyles they would have to be different videos. Blissey and Rhyperior were similar enough to their predecesors to work the same way and work as one video. Politoed and Poliwrath would be more like Porygon2 and PorygonZ
Poliwrath was/is bad
Cousin thats sad Tajiris favorite line deserves to be top tier.
Fun drinking game:
Take a shot everytime SMOGON proposes to ban something
I wouldn't exactly call smogon competitive pokemon - just a bunch of arbitrary rules and tiers setup by a fan community
You could read the Smogon post here www.smogon.com/forums/threads/baton-pass-in-sm-ou.3604290/
Banning these sort of stuff isn't exactly done by one guy either, it's done by community.
WHERE'S MY MAGNETON/ZONE?!
How good was Tentacruel ??!!
How good was Flygon ACTUALLY?
YES YES YES YES YES
u r right
A Ghost HEK YEAH
Random Person Dragonite doesn't need a mega. It would just setup thanks to Multiscale and wreck everything next turn when it mega evolves. Garchomp and Salamence are at least at risk of a stray HP Ice, while Dragonite can even tank a non-STAB Ice Beam and setup.
But flygon got DD now so you'll see more of it and if pokemon gave a extra oof in its Attack and Speed then it might even become the next garchomp
opened video, paused before watching it just to inform you that i love kingdra enough to stop requesting eeveelutions. i deeply thank you.
I remember battling Kingdra at the battle tower in crystal in level 100 and what a hassle it was to take down cause it ran a rest set almost all the time and its balanced stats. It was the reason I ran a ‘curse-lax’ just to take it out 😁
Kingdra is in smogon OU right now and it also has Iron Head and Flash Cannon
Unprivileged Poor Asian Kid What's the reason for it rising to OU in this generation?
Di ya so you’re only an unprivileged asian kid?
Di ya I agree lol
Why is it in BL3 now all of a sudden? Has Smogon banned something again? I'm really out of the loop.
TheStrongestBaka cuz it sucks ass now
Finally finally I’ve been waiting
How good were Magneton/Magnezone actually?
i agree
So happy this came out since I just got a Kingdra in Pokemon Gold Virtual Console for the first time mere hours ago.
The fossil pokemon of gen 1 would be awesome
after steelix how GOOD was Ampharos
Not very good, mediocre stats and it's final nail in the coffin is it's shallow movepool
"Seadra's face melted"
LMAO
Dude, I want to see part 3 of the Gen 1 mechanics! Recognize that!
I wanna see all three johto starters after steelix
Yeah 3 starters of johto
i started playing during johto but i know its starters aren't impressive, at least in competitive formats. i would prefer to see hoenn starters by far!
exception: make an unpredictable typhlosion as a special all rounder with extracensory and let everybody go NUTS. there's more than zapdos and heat wave out there.
good typing relies on all round choices in the party as a whole.
and zapdos is great, but standard affairs.
καλα ντε
I'll have you know Feraligatr has been running rampant in the lower tiers ever since it got dragon dance. I mean, it's no OU but being one of the best of the worst is something, right?
On the way to 100k man keep it up FSG
How GOOD was Delibird ACTUALLY?
I love how with smogon you can tell the rulemakers just get swept and then ban the strategy that swept them
How good was the EEVEELOUTIONS!?!?!
This is one Pokemon that needs an remake review.
I love your humor. This channel is so entertaining
Magneton - Magnezone !!
(Keep it up guys, you are great and fun!)
ayy my comment was heard for steelix
Nicholas Bell same brah
I remember 6-0ing some teams in gen VI OU with my Sniper Kingdra
And I also remember some ragequits after a surprise Draco Meteor OHKO on Mega Venusaur, I could feel the salt from the other side
Great video as always, after Steelix, I think it's Magneton/Magnezones time to shine!
Great to see Citra being used to provide high resolution gen 6 gameplay!
if it gets a mega, they need to clean up it's stats

Muddy Water? Why not surf?
@@edwartuwu7179 Muddy Water is better in doubles and has a chance to lower accuracy
Do azumarill next
Ian.G Vlogz Hes agreeing with you because he wants it as well. Now chill out and stop acting like only YOU matter.
+Get Shrekt ahahahah good one
dude chill
yes
Jack Lehane I got good because of huge power
How good is the Dragon type actually
I second this, along with how good is the Psychic type actually.
We are the superior type :p
The only thing I dislike about the Dragon type is some of the obnoxiously loud fans. They're part of why I approve of Fairy's introduction.
Another Pokédex entry talks about how when a kingdra hears a dragonite, trouble follows as both Pokémon are natural rivals.
Pretty sure this is about number 20 for videos where I asked for *Clefable* ! :D Loving your content anyway so I'm still just as eager.
Still sitting on that Magnezone! Or Azumarill. Would be interesting hear your thoughts on the whole Pikablue dabacle back in the day.
Also, thank you so much for Kingdra! Used one on my Y nuzlocke, been a favorite of mine since. Cheers you guys. Swipe away!
Did it
How good was Houndoom ACTUALLY?
My Kingdra has the Sniper ability, so I taught mine Focus Energy.
Now give it a scope lens. And draco meteor.
@JBcoolbreez that only effects your one next move. You'd have to use it every other turn.
How good was magneton/magnezone
Did it
Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan, and Hitmontop!
Cristian Garcia they all have different playstyles and deserve their own videos
good video
Sir you are first
Awesome. I love Kingdra. Had a few obvious problems with it, but overall still cool.
The Pokemon that saved me multiple times in my very first Pokemon playthrough of my life.
You are unforgettable
List of suggestions
Cloyster
Clefable
Hitmontop
Slowking
Pinsir
"Seadra's face melted"
🤣
Even Clair's Kingdra is very powerful
Forget Miltank, that Kingdra bugs me way more.
Yeah. Especially since you can't get any Dragon type prior to battling it, meaning it has no weakness. Or well, although Steelix does learns Dragonbreath it's no real threat considering the lack of STAB and Steelix's poor Special Attack stat.
I can't wait for the next smash competitive vid
In the Pokédex for Sword: “when kingdra and dragonite cross paths, a fierce battle ensues” which does seem more plausible than how whirlpools form when Kingdra yawns. Kingdra likely would’ve become a top tier Pokémon within the competitive scene, had Politoed not been banned from providing drizzle for generation 5, but oh well.
U should cover the gen 2 starters.
Michael Beris yeah gen2 starters
This thing is the best it's been since before the complex ban in gen 7, due to pelliper's ability to set rain and uturn out, rain is amazing and the only weather worth building around in s/m ou.
Rain is so busted this gen it's not even funny, mostly because of Pelipper, Kingdra and Hawlucha. Unless you have a Tangrowth or Venusaur, opposing weather or fat shit, you're going to have a bad time against Rain
how good is Swampert?
It's good, but not anything special. If you're using standard rain, you'll be using swampert. The mega buff helped it so much.
Wait, why Hawlucha?
Because koko is amazing on rain and electric seed in terrain allows hawlucha to outspeed and ko threats to rain with unburden.
Gligar and Gliscor
or
murkrow and honchkrow
GLISSCCOORRR YEEAASHHH
kingdra and mamoswine carried my team when I first played soulsilver. Ampharos was good, ninetales/meganium were ok but xatu was sort of relegated to flying me places and getting a battle if it could hit something with psychic cause I didn't realize some pokemon are more meant for status/support. But jeez, managed to get draco meteor from platinum and with surf it just swept through whatever it fought.
kingdra is still my favourite water pokemon for my teams..just love it
All hail Sniper Kingdra!
Cloyster next! This water poke has been forgotten for too long!
Do flygon and milotic
Did em both
I went CRAZY with sniper critdra in OU.
I’ve used this in doubles for two years, and it works amazingly-
Max Special Attack, Max Speed,
Modest
Swift Swim
Scope Lens
Focus Energy
Hydro Pump
Draco Meteor
Flash Cannon
Nobody expects this to work, and it can knock out entire teams with Damp Rock Politoed/Pelipper’s aid. Anything weak to it or doesn’t resist it is gonna go away. Your only saviors are Scarfed Invested Dragons, Eviolite Chansey, and Focus Sash, but then again it is in doubles, so that survival often isn’t long.
