Hey DJ! I’m a bit of a wuss when it comes to curries. Can only have the mild sweet ones. Never think about having lamb in curry either. Even though it’s my favourite meat. I always have chicken. Nevertheless a nice looking starter and main dish - not that I could eat those. Your face spoke volumes again. Could tell it was OTC. Very nice relaxing video as always and the restaurant was fabulous inside. Take care 😘👍🏻
Can't beat Indian food. I had some great Vindaloos in Goa back in November. They're weren't 'burn your mouth hot and make you prance around looking for your raita' hot. They were 'hot', definitely, don't get me wrong, but a slow, lingering heat, and it is genuinly enjoyable. The thrill of the heat sensation opening those endorfines is such a heart racing experience and such an adrenaline rush. Those Vindaloos that do nothing but burn your mouth use dried red chilli powder which burns your mouth, and that is not a good feeling and definitely not traditional Indian style!
The thing about the beer from the American bar owner/tv personality, is purely about speed of serve and increasing profitability in busy busy bars and then your own preference when it comes to drinking lager/beer that’s carbonated!
I live in France now and love it...but I do miss a good curry. I discovered an Indian restaurant 1/2 hour away and went. I asked for a vindaloo as they, not the French, eat it. They were worried it would be too hot but cooked it for me. Then they stood around watching me eat it ! 😂
Looked nothing outside but incredible inside. Good looking vindaloo and starter as you say definitely off the charts. Thanks for yet another brilliant vlog. Colin
Lovely stuff👍🏽 When I get off the train at Euston it’s usually into the Euston Tap for a couple of liveners and then round the corner into Roti King for some top notch yums. I’ll take a stroll down to Kings Cross and check out Indian Lounge next time👍🏽
St Pancras station is a fantastic looking building, I can remember it in the late 70's before the refurb. We used a pub called the Euston Tavern close by and a KFC in the same area and if I remember right was open 24/7, a novelty for the 70's. The prices at the Indian Lounge are very good for London, the food itself looked excellent as well as the restaurant décor.
Brilliant filming and music. As a rugby playing student in the North we had a tradition. First match for the first XV we had to play the game, run a mile after the match...sink four pints and eat a vindaloo...all in 40 minutes. I hate beer, cannot stand very hot food but WTF. Darren is like my dad. He could tell me every bus I needed to get from A to B in London and we lived in Yorkshire. Going to London with him was always good news as we would hit amazing restaurants, pubs, museums. We had our differences but who doesn’t?
Looked great and loved the garden and pound downstairs, like spice but would be to hot for me. The architecture on that building was beautiful till the next one.
Fair play . It looks quality there. I cant handle the hot stuff . Tikka massala is my limit so i will whimp out. Great shots of London as usual. Thanks
Good evening Darren. What a beautiful building that is. The restaurant definitely has put it some magic with the decor. Food looked tasty. It did look a bit small in portion for what you paid. But the main thing is you enjoyed it. I'm not brave enough to try the vindaloo lol! I like the chasni and patias. Just love the extra walk at the end Darren. Thanks again for sharing and see you on the next one! 🥰🌞🥰Xxx
Had a vindaloo once, ended up sat in me string vest such was my sweating, needed a shower when I got home.... other stuff happened later too but this is a family channel! 🤣 I'm a baby with heat
Yes I definitely could. Love spice. Trouble is now I'm 60 odd it doesn't like me or my stomach. It's so annoying. !!!!!😫 smashing vid, stay well and happy 😊😉
Always love a quality Indian meal, the heat is just part of enjoyment of the food. I have a lovely local Indian restaurant, the Himalayan but when I'm next in Kings Cross station, I will give it a try. 10 out of 10, it's 21.45pm and I'm now feeling hungry 😊👍🏽♥️
Another fantastic video Darren. Have to say that Vindaloo is one of my favourite curries. I actually had one the other day at my local restaurant. Definitely off the charts👌👌. Agree with you about the portion size but glad you enjoyed it. Great choice of beer too. Cobra is my go to lager at a curry house🍺. Thanks for sharing as always mate.
Your so right about Kings Cross, many treat it as a means to an end, instead i will start treating it as a means to enjoy some great food. Incidentally, the hotel at St Pancras is absolutely beautiful, we stayed there in December 2020, had a great view of the Barlow trainshed.
What a beautiful looking restaurant and the food looked great too!! I've had Vindaloo curries here and loved them so I'd definitely try it in England. Delish!! And I'm definitely with you on just wandering around the City and finding new and exciting places to explore. A City like London would have so much to offer. Love a good curry vlog and this was great! Made me super hungry and crave a curry 😂 Cheers for that 👍🏼😁💙
@@nige3801 No I'm not from NY but have been there before but can't say I ate Indian food whilst there. I ate more American type foods like burgers, pizzas, hot dogs and bagels 😂
Have you ever tried the Indian restaurants in Drummond Street by Euston? Used to go there a lot with my Indian colleague. And Ambala is there too (or was!) so you can stuff yourself with gulab jamun!!!
I can't even handle a vindaloo in New York any more, although I used to be able to. A vindaloo in London is much hotter, as I discovered about 30 years ago, so I'm not likely to try again. But I will watch the video because I like your food reviews and I've finally subscribed as well. Also I now think I owe you a watch of the video just to be sure that your head doesn't fall off. I wish I could still eat these very hot things, such as dried Sichuan peppers, but I cannot. I even pick the jalapeno bits out of dishes that come with them. I don't want to endure the reminders that come the next day.
Is Bagleys warehouse still behind king cross station? Used to go to lost all nighter in the day and fall asleep in the northern line to Tooting broadway afterwards 😂
I’ve mentioned previously DJ. The quality and price in London is unbelievable. We pay at least and sometimes more in Sunderland. Great content as usual. Many thanks.
Excellent review and gorgeous looking food glad you chose lamb as most people go for chicken but your last words were my first words the portions were very small especially compared to some of the other curries you and Luke have reviewed 👍👍🥘🥘🍺🍺
What a place I didn't expect there Amazon rainforest in the basement. It's Looked a good curry with plenty of source to hot for me I wimp out on a lamb bhuna 😁👍
Back in October I ate in the one next door for a light lunch and basically chose that one as had more people in it than that one you was in. Expensive I found for what I had tbh but food was nice at least
Great stuff, Darren. Food looked good, and very reasonable prices, especially for 'Laandan'! Went out to our local Indian ourselves tonight, too. Was great as always. 😋👌
Was really fortunate to go to Harris park in Sydney Oz, big Indian eating experience..loads of eateries in a unique neighbourhood hood..goat vindaloo Gert lush
Food looked gorgeous Darren, must give it a go there sometime. Vindaloo - perfect heat ! I love an occasional curry on my own, one of my guilty pleasures ! Cheers and best wishes. p.s.......are you still using Creed ?
Hey Darren that looked like a nice place and the food and beer looked the business. Vindaloo how hot was that. I used to love that, unfortunately 15 years ago I copped for a bit of stage4 throat cancer and my mouth just can’t do spice or heat. A small price to pay. I have a local Indian restaurant near by in Massachusetts and he makes me the best very mild roganjosh or chicken tikka masala. My wife however loves hot and spicy stuff so we are all good. Keep up the fantastic content mate. Suprising fact Americans are starting to like a nice curry!
That curry looked amazing, I do like a nice bit of heat 🌶️ in my food 👍🏽 The starter you had looked superb, I had food envy 😂 Indian restaurants for the most part are all stunningly decorated inside aren’t they and that one was no exception, beautiful 🤩
You wouldn't think a dish that was of Portuguese and Goan origins would have become so popular as a curry in Britain. Traditionally made with pork. A really tasty dish, although not as hot, in its traditional form it is the wine and garlic along with some heat gives it a sweet and sour element. Really enjoyed making it and the eating. Making butter chicken this weekend. 😁
I only ever went to an Indian restaurant once didn't make it past the dips , I was a first date years ago that was the end of me and Indian food didn't see her again either for some reason lol . Great review though as always
Love how you pulled out the poppodoms to finish off the starter plate... Wasted nothing, love it mate x
I find a good Vindaloo is actually sour and tangy rather than super chilli hot - it can get confusing if they DO add some chilli, though.
Your video reviews on food are the only ones that make my mouth water! Great stuff!
Glad you like them! shame UA-cam dont share your view
Most restaurants portions have become smaller due to costs from suppliers, increase in utilities, etc, etc.
Vindaloos are lovely, perfect heat level for a regular day
Just found your chennel, what a hidden gem. Food looked really good, need some heat with my indian food.
Awesome! Thank you and welcome Mats

The decor kinda reminds me of somewhere around 1987, but I like it!

The buildings are really nice around King’s Cross.
NO, you're not crazy. I know exactly what you mean about wanting more. I used to eat this once a week for 30 yrs and miss it so much. Enjoy 😊😋

What a magnificent building at the beginning of this vlog. Your food looked extremely rich, glad you enjoyed it.

As an Indian, that Bangladesh food looks brilliant
The sniff gives it away! 😂

Excellent content and great looking food, good value for money

There's something about curries Penny, makes you want one just by the aroma

I have filmed a few phall curries, nice
Superb DJ, I couldn’t have ate it myself, a bit too spicy for me, but it looked Amazing 🌶️🌶️👍👍
Hi Darren, that vindaloo looked great. Bit puzzled though why you accompanied Indian food with oriental music. Minor gripe but thought it was strange.
Not strange at all - I would play Mexican music if it worked Mark 👍🏼👍🏼
