Layton was love at 1st sniff. Never smelled something so unique, complex & pleasing all at once. If I could only own 1 frag.. Layton would be it. Period!! Creed smells great also.. the pineapple in the newer batches are pretty much all you smell, & it’s a very nice refined pineapple I love it. I layer creed with another very popular date fragrance & transforms it into a masterpiece “true panty-dropper”

In general Layton has garnered me way more compliments. It's way longer lasting, less expensive, has more depth, and is super sexy!

Both smell amazing imo but I agree I personally prefer Layton, also kinda prefer Xerjoff Nio over Aventus as well (not saying Nio is similar to Aventus btw but I go to it more in summer over Aventus).
Layton, hands down! I like Aventus but the QA issues and lack of performance are major deal breakers for me. Add to that the compliments I receive wearing Layton and the choice is real easy.
They both smell great, but I feel many more people have experienced a aventus scent profile, than layton. So while you smell good its a familiar scent to many so they aren't as intrigued. Layton for a lot of people outside of fragcom is something more mysterious so they go wild over it.
Personally I'm an Aventus guy, however I would recommend Layton because of the positive compliments from ladies, even though I don't like the menthol smell but I love everything else about it.

Layton could almost be a daily go to depending on the setting. You’ll enjoy it more on cooler days. I’d say grab all three and enjoy the entire PDM house.
I wear both. Older women tend to really love Aventus and younger women tend to love PDM on me. I do find that Aventus is easier to wear year round but with all the clones, it's too common of a dna right now. Layton isn't as well known of a dna and seems to get more attention.

Layton is imo the best men's night out (not hot weather) and a MUST. Aventus is too expansive, very gentle beautiful masculine daytime fragrance, yes also for night out, but still not worth its price

Layton all the way. Never understood the Aventus hype since it has something in the drydown that smells rank for me and got me headaches, that's why I always recommend Cedrat Boise instead since it doesn't have that rank smell and it smells more polished.
My best way of explaining it. Aventus is good for work/business/errand wear. While Layton is great for Date Night/Clubbing/Feeling Sexy wear. Layton is my favorite fragrance I own. Then again I prefer date night/sexy kind of fragrances.
Thanks for your honesty and I agree 100%. I bought a bottle of 2020 Aventus directly from Creed and it was so dilute it only lasted about 1 h on my skin. Thinking I had a bad bottle I went to the local high end department store with a Creed boutique and that sales clerk and I compared my bottle with theirs...we both weer rather shocked that the bottles weer the same - an hour after a spray there was nothing there. So I returned it for a refund. I have 12 Kilian and 4 PDM as well as some Amouage, Roja, and Nishane, so I decided to go with Hacivat - similar scent profile but vastly superior performance at similar price point. I am no longer interested in Creed at all. If you flop with your flagship fragrance, you flop with them all. As for Layton, since I have the much darker Carlisle, and Pegasus Ex, I use Layton and Sedley for the summer, Layton for nights, formal occasions, and cooler days.
Yeah man I heard new creeds suck so much you’re better off searching for an older bottle and making sure it’s legit tbh. I still have my 120ml from 4 or 5 years back still fire from back when creed was king!

The big difference in the formula change with the original Creed Aventus is they discontinued OAK MOSS a huge contribution Ingredient that plays into long jevity and that earthy smell. People were complaining about their allergens from oak mosswhich is stupid they shoulda of just had two different sets so we can stil enjoy the original So your original bottle is GOLD BROl
Layton feels like Versace Eros to me and I like eros more 🤷♂️🤷♂️ honestly alot of PDM fragrances reminds me of other things not really worth the buy to me. I'll take Aventus anyday anytime of the year
So many people are wearing both these days (still heaps that don't though). They're both great in the right environment, and Layton is a better performer all-round. But if you wear Layton on a hot summers day/night you smell stupid.
Both are rocking second-fiddle for me. Arabian Knight is my first-stringer. Smells incredible, performs, attracts lots of positive feedback, and is far more unique. It checks all the boxes and then some.
This is 1 vs 2 and I’ll likely be flip flopping for life. These are the monsters of niche fragrances since I started collecting in 2012. These 2 are standouts. Now im going to get that Nishane hacivat. I’ll give some feedback. Trustworthy review. Keep it rolling.
Aventus has been overthrown by CDNIM and Explorer. It smells and performs like Aventus did 10 years ago. The new batches of Aventus are pale copies of the original and only last a couple of hours. Layton is awesome, but I prefer the Exclusive version as it's much more masculine.
Just get both I did and throw Herod by Perfume De Marley it also a safe blind buy Truth if you stepping in this arena just start couping them all because you'll keep thinking about to them until u do

Layton all the time ! Price value proposition Longivity Compliment factor Quality ( no batch variations ) And I would even say uniqness , despite is not the most authentic juicy nowadays aventus type of fragrances are everywhere .
Both are good perfumes. I prefer Creed Aventus. More versatile, smells clean and fresh and can be used at work, in the evening, et. Layton is too much for me and I believe too strong for office/work.

My collecting got a little crazy during COVID and my collection grew a bit quicker than anticipated as I did a bit of blind buying. If you like the YSL's, then Layton is definitely more up your alley, especially if it's YSL La Nuit de L'homme. YSL L'Homme and YSL La Nuit are faves of mine, but Layton blows them away.
If you want compliments go Layton. If you want the better cologne go Aventus. Compliments are largely tied to projection. Layton does pop, but the smell is just good to me, nothing special.. like a good department store fragrance. Aventus is so quality, smells incredible, and if not for all the dupes, so unique.
Layton is decent with the compliments but Aventus has blown everything else out of the water in that regard on my skin. I also like that it is a year round scent.
I love aventus over Layton. I honestly just hate the smell of Layton. To me the top two are aventus for summer and spring and harod for winter and fall.
The Creed smells better the longer u hold on to the bottle....i bought a 2nd bottle 2 yrs ago....cracked the bottle about 2 months ago....the performance and smell drove my girl crazy....i drank the 1st bottle so the performance wasnt so great.....you gotta let it sit for a yr before using it my advice
I'd pick Aventus over Layton, but it has to be the right batch otherwise Layton walks on Aventus. Sadly Layton's amazing smell lasts under 1hr it then changes to something different.
They smell similar to me. But I will say I like Layton more because the warm apple is prominent vs the warm citrusy pineapple in creed. I really don't like citrus I'm burned out.
I own both. Two my nose these two aren't comparable. I compare Percival to Aventus because they are both fresher scents. I prefer Percival and Layton to Aventus. I never reach for it. And I use Percival more than Layton these days.
I disagree, Layton starts as an amazing spice bomb but then the smell changes radically after an hour. If you have the right Aventus batch it's there for days.
Never smelled Aventus. I have Layton. As well as Carlisle and Herod. I have Silver Mountain Water from Creed. I'm honestly not a fan of reformulated frags. I don't believe in asking for 500 bucks for a smell, just to change that snell.

Comparing Adventus to Layton is like comparing D. Wade to Jordan...there really is no comparison. PDM Layton is KING and it ain't even close. Adventus is good but not great in my opinion. I have a bottle and honestly if you told me it came from Macy's I'd believe you. Layton is a sophisticated masterpiece that CLEARLY smells nichė.
You can rock Aventus in spring/summer & Layton in fall/winter, with those 2 fragrances you can smell like a BOSS all year long

The big difference in the formula change with the original Creed Aventus is they discontinued OAK MOSS a huge contribution Ingredient that plays into long jevity and that earthy smell. People were complaining about their allergens from oak mosswhich is stupid they shoulda of just had two different sets so we can stil enjoy the original So your original bottle is GOLD BROl
For me Layton is on a level where you can get rid of all your fraguences and just use Layton only
Layton feels like Versace Eros to me and I like eros more 🤷♂️🤷♂️ honestly alot of PDM fragrances reminds me of other things not really worth the buy to me. I'll take Aventus anyday anytime of the year
My first two niche fragrances where Nishane Hacivat and Layton. It's a one two punch you can't go wrong with those two.
So many people are wearing both these days (still heaps that don't though). They're both great in the right environment, and Layton is a better performer all-round. But if you wear Layton on a hot summers day/night you smell stupid.

Both are rocking second-fiddle for me. Arabian Knight is my first-stringer. Smells incredible, performs, attracts lots of positive feedback, and is far more unique.

Aventus has been overthrown by CDNIM and Explorer. It smells and performs like Aventus did 10 years ago. The new batches of Aventus are pale copies of the original and only last a couple of hours. Layton is awesome, but I prefer the Exclusive version as it's much more masculine.

Both are good perfumes. I prefer Creed Aventus. More versatile, smells clean and fresh and can be used at work, in the evening, et. Layton is too much for me and I believe too strong for office/work.
I’ve never tried Aventus, have smelled some clones, but Layton is awesome. Not as versatile, but smells fantastic. I’m debating which PDM to get next: Carlisle or Oajan

My collecting got a little crazy during COVID and my collection grew a bit quicker than anticipated as I did a bit of blind buying. I’ve got a few fragrances that are in upwards of 15 years old that truly have stayed solid over the years, so I’m hoping for the best 🤞

I Never had Creed Avents or Layton but I'm going too buy them both too see how i like them. I got a 200 ml bottle of Yves Saint LAURENT and it Smells good
If you like the YSL's, then Layton is definitely more up your alley, especially if it's YSL La Nuit de L'homme. YSL L'Homme and YSL La Nuit are faves of mine, but Layton blows them away.
If you want compliments go Layton. If you want the better cologne go Aventus. Compliments are largely tied to projection. Layton does pop, but the smell is just good to me, nothing special.. like a good department store fragrance. Aventus is so quality, smells incredible, and if not for all the dupes, so unique.
Layton is decent with the compliments but Aventus has blown everything else out of the water in that regard on my skin. I also like that it is a year round scent.
If he can afford em, get both. To me Aventus is STILL amazing!!

I have Layton and Aventis. I don't see what everyone is talking about. Layton is good, but it's not great. Aventis is the best in my opinion.
I love aventus over Layton. I honestly just hate the smell of Layton. To me the top two are aventus for summer and spring and harod for winter and fall.
The Creed smells better the longer u hold on to the bottle....i bought a 2nd bottle 2 yrs ago....cracked the bottle about 2 months ago....the performance and smell drove my girl crazy....i drank the 1st bottle so the performance wasnt so great.....you gotta let it sit for a yr before using it my advice
I'd pick Aventus over Layton, but it has to be the right batch otherwise Layton walks on Aventus. Sadly Layton's amazing smell lasts under 1hr it then changes to something different.
They smell similar to me. But I will say I like Layton more because the warm apple is prominent vs the warm citrusy pineapple in creed. I really don't like citrus I'm burned out.
I own both. Two my nose these two aren't comparable. I compare Percival to Aventus because they are both fresher scents.
I prefer Percival and Layton to Aventus. I never reach for it. And I use Percival more than Layton these days.

Layton has much more longevity and more projection, sillage. Carlisle is even more potent and lasted 12 plus hours on me.
I disagree, Layton starts as an amazing spice bomb but then the smell changes radically after an hour. If you have the right Aventus batch it's there for days.

Never smelled Aventus. I have Layton. As well as Carlisle and Herod. I have Silver Mountain Water from Creed. I'm honestly not a fan of reformulated frags. I don't believe in asking for 500 bucks for a smell, just to change that snell.

Comparing Adventus to Layton is like comparing D. Wade to Jordan...there really is no comparison. PDM Layton is KING and it ain't even close. Adventus is good but not great in my opinion. I have a bottle and honestly if you told me it came from Macy's I'd believe you. Layton is a sophisticated masterpiece that CLEARLY smells nichė.
