It's nice to know that people also bring common plants to swaps, I've never been to one and I'm a bit scared If I went because I don't have a good collection of rare plants, at least not in a size to share yet, I am guessing you can't swap a micans for a gloriosum tho lol
Woke up in a bad mood and you have instantly turned it around 😭 your positivity and happiness is really so infectious, I wish every video was six hours long!!
'The last one is a little bigger' just a little! I'm so glad to see you got Jose home safely and I'm so looking forward to seeing how it does with you! Mine looks so much smaller now but still perfectly formed and im really glad to have been able to send the cuttings to good homes!
I’m not sure if anyone else would be interested, but would you mind explaining how the plant swap works. It’s looks like a great way to get variety in your plant collection for little or no cost (I assume). Great video, so interesting, thanks Claire.
Hey Renate, so the one I go to (Another Plant Swap) has a really simple format, you basically just take some plants/cuttings/seeds/wetsticks etc etc and then have a walk around and if there's something you like of somebody else's you can either ask if they'd be willing to swap that for a plant of yours, or if there's anything they're looking for that you might have. If you agree, then you swap, and if not you keep going. Lots of people also give things away that they don't want to come home with, it's really laid-back and a lot of fun! 💚
Oh joy! What a fabulous video!!! Just seeing all of those stalls with all those planty goodies spread out was fabulous! What a haul! Those Hoyas!!!! Well done, Claire. Mind you, you brought some treasures along with you too!
Wow! What an amazing haul! I would definitely find it overwhelming, plus the fact that I didn’t have many plants and there certainly aren’t unusual. Looking forward to the day when I have enough to make the trip to one of these amazing events!
Hey Claire! Great video! It was such a brilliant day and was I so happy to finally meet you. Such a lovely bunch of people. Thanks for the swap: I hope your Globulosa WMZ grows big and strong like the mother plant. 🌿💚
Oh what a fun day it was at the Plant Swap, I’m sorry we didn’t manage to have a chat, but I got some lovely plant’s and I see you did too 😊 I did manage to do a swap with Memo, an Amazing Philodendron Florida ghost leaf that I’m very excited to grow 😊 Hopefully chat at the next swap,as we live fairly close too 😊
Hey Mel, I'm so glad you had a lovely day and hopefully we get to meet at the next one! Oooh wow that florida ghost sounds GORGEOUS - Memo always brings insane plants!! 💚
What an awesome event! I hope I can find one like it near me sometime. I recently went to a “plant swap and sale” that should have just been called a “sale” 😂 the only swapping I really saw was between the people who had reserved a table to sell stuff. It was still a lot of fun and I got some really nice affordable cuttings, but I also left with all of the plants/cuttings I brought with me 😅
Hi Claire! I’m just starting the video but I had to pause it to say- You’re so lucky to be close enough to so many planty people that you can go to plant swaps!!! One of the top things on my bucket list is to find some local plant lovers so that I can swap some of my plants with them!! This looks like so much fun! To be completely honest, I recently drove by a house near me that had a bunch of plants in the windows, and I SO wish I could figure out a way to speak to them but there is no way to do it without coming across as a very strange person hahaha!!! (I promise I’m not!) but, Oh how I dream of finding local planty friends!
I agree with what Lucy said - there's lots of community plant swap groups on Facebook so it would definitely be worth having a look about. If not, you could always start one yourself (that would also give you an excuse to chat to your planty neighbour) 😂💚
I’m in SouthCoast Massachusetts. I do belong to several fb BST groups, but so far haven’t found anyone local to me at all:( I appreciate the help very much tho!
Amazing! Standleyana are a nightmare to root - they take forever. I've been doing some in water and moss for the last year! They tend to produce new growth but no roots, and then root from the new growth, so don't give up hope! Those leaves will drop off pretty swiftly and become wetsticks too though. Next year you'll have a lovey plant though - be worth it! ❤
The Part-time does get leggy but it’s worth it The Bright color is the Outstanding - She’s a bit of a Diva better not forget to water 💦 lol and chop n prop n share lol tfs ❤️✌️🕊
Looks so fun I was trying to sort my hoya pubicalyx out and change its trellis and let's say got bored/frustrated and chopped it which I was very nervy about as it was last week. But added something to my prop box 4 days later it had roots which made me feel a lot better about cutting it up
It was a really great day! Thanks for the invitation. P.S. I am jealous of your jose buono. I had my eye on it but was not sure how I would be able to take it home 😂
Hey Lethius it was great to meet you on Saturday and I'm so glad you got some great swaps! Yes the buono was a bit of a nightmare on the train, but thankfully it made it 😂
OK, your plant swap beats any of the plant swaps where I live any day. I have received a few Monstera Standelayana plant, but it came on a pole already and anytime I try to prop I fail. Hope you have better luck and if/when you succeed please share:):)
I think several species have recently been combined as latifolia. I haven't quite figured it out yet, but I know macrophylla has also been renamed latifolia. I hadn't heard about sarawak.
Hi Claire 🙋🏻♀️ Just thought maybe the difference between your and your friend’s rhaphidophora tetrasperma is that yours is a more mature plant and hers is a younger one or maybe yours is an original/non-tc and your friend’s is a tc plant. Some people says that they look different
I had such a super hard time propagating watermelon peperomia. I finally figured out that (mine at least) liked perlite but to keep alot of air flow. For some reason all the ones I put in my regular prop box would just melt but once I put some in their own box and just set the lid on top with a corner cracked it helped a ton! You do need to keep a closer eye one them but I'm 2 months in and I finally have some babies poping up!
From what I've seen and heard floating around online, the non tissue culture Rhaphidophora Tetrasperma looks more round and "cartoonish" and the TC one is thinner and almost a sharper look, like your friends cutting you swapped for
Ever since I saw your Sarawak I wanted one. I have ended up with a cutting and a plant of what is considered Sarawak here in Canada, and I also have a Latifolia, but not the dinner plate version you have. I want those big dinner plate leaves and I am having a time trying to source one. PeterInHalifax
I am wondering if the first wrapped cutting you referred to as the P. cobra might actually be P. rio or silver stripe. The ones in the cup definitely appear to be P. cobra (aka Monstera standleyana).
Loved the video and seeing you!!! I always though Philodendron cobra was a Monstera standleyana? But perhaps not?! Unsure! Also - I’m going to try and force a rescue philodendron silver sword on you when I next see you 😂
You too Sophie, it was sooooo lovely to see you! I was always under the impression they were the same thing too, but referred to as both (I think cobra is just a common name for standleyana)... Also I definitely won't say no if you want to force a rescue silver sword on me 😂💚
Looked like a good event, you may wish to grow the lillies outside in a greenhouse as they literally smell like death ..luckily they will take years to mature ✌️
To anyone who was at the swap: is it for any type of plant (i.e. not just rare ones)? Only because I'd be interested in attending though some of my plants are fairly common!
It's nice to know that people also bring common plants to swaps, I've never been to one and I'm a bit scared If I went because I don't have a good collection of rare plants, at least not in a size to share yet, I am guessing you can't swap a micans for a gloriosum tho lol
Was such a blast - so nice seeing all the planty folks geeking out together 😁
Thank you, as always, fantastic video💚💚💚💚
It was lovely meeting you and all the lovely people from this amazing community! so much love! 💕💕
You too Sara! What a fun day it was! Really hope to see you again at the next one 💚
Woke up in a bad mood and you have instantly turned it around 😭 your positivity and happiness is really so infectious, I wish every video was six hours long!!
same haha
Perfect video amazing plant and you are so nice👍🍀🌵💚😍
Lovely, especially Philodendron Cobra, beautiful variegation 👌🍃
'The last one is a little bigger' just a little! I'm so glad to see you got Jose home safely and I'm so looking forward to seeing how it does with you! Mine looks so much smaller now but still perfectly formed and im really glad to have been able to send the cuttings to good homes!
Oh gosh I met you at the plant swap and thought you looked familiar … and now here you are! Thank you for the party time.
I love these plant vlogs! And I can’t wait to see updates in the next coming weeks on how they grow and thrive! Thank you for sharing your experience!
Thanks!
Thank you so much Angelia! 💚
Oh what fun! How I wish there was something like this near me. Your new plants look fabulous! Thank you for cheering me up during my covid recovery xx
Great video as always! The Peperomia is "Ginny" but Jelly is more fun. 😄
I’m not sure if anyone else would be interested, but would you mind explaining how the plant swap works. It’s looks like a great way to get variety in your plant collection for little or no cost (I assume). Great video, so interesting, thanks Claire.

Emma's tetrasperma is definitely tissue culture! Personally I like the look of the non tissue culture one much better! 🌿💚

Oooh interesting! I've never had one before so thank you for the tips. Fingers crossed you're right (I'd love her to grow big for me) 💚
You need a granny trolley!
Missed out this year but can’t wait to come to the next one! 🥳💚
Yay🎉 looks like it was so much fun 😊
Love watching your video and I always look forward to it. Plant swap event seems fun! I hope there will be one locally in my country one day!
The Part-time does get leggy but it’s worth it The Bright color is the Outstanding - She’s a bit of a Diva better not forget to water 💦 lol and chop n prop n share lol tfs ❤️✌️🕊
Looks so fun

Looks like a great time! I need more space for more plants!
It was a really great day! Thanks for the invitation. P.S. I am jealous of your jose buono. I had my eye on it but was not sure how I would be able to take it home 😂
Hey Lethius it was great to meet you on Saturday and I'm so glad you got some great swaps! Yes the buono was a bit of a nightmare on the train, but thankfully it made it 😂
I love your videos. Is it possible to keep the plant names up longer so I can write them down? I think I rewound this video 10000 times😂
OK, your plant swap beats any of the plant swaps where I live any day. I have received a few Monstera Standelayana plant, but it came on a pole already and anytime I try to prop I fail. Hope you have better luck and if/when you succeed please share:):)
Loved this video Claire! You got some amazing looking plants there! 💚 Natalie

Voodoo lilies stink so watch out lol. Oh and love your videos❤
was so lovely to meet you there xxx
Likewise Seb! I really hope to see you at the next one too 💚
Wow - what fun 🤩

Hers is also very mature, and actually taller than mine... The tissue culture thing is a good point. We'll have to wait and see! 💚
Waooo u got luckyyy yessss the plant comunity is amazing i wish here in massachuset usa should do one
I had such a super hard time propagating watermelon peperomia. I finally figured out that (mine at least) liked perlite but to keep alot of air flow. Thank you so much for the tip - I had a hard time with them last time so I'll definitely give this a go! 💚
I love seeing these kind of videos!🎉❤ I feel like I’m going to a plant swap! 😅
What is that beautiful pink leaf plant behind you while you’re showing us your cuttings to take? Xxx
It’s ok lol…..you’ve just told us 🤣🤣
I suspect your corms are not frydek since that is the variegated version, the green one is called micholitziana
From what I've seen and heard floating around online, the non tissue culture Rhaphidophora Tetrasperma looks more round and "cartoonish" and the TC one is thinner and almost a sharper look, like your friends cutting you swapped for
I adore your style and channel!
I'd never heard of the M. Standleyana referred to as "Cobra" ... interesting, is it for the aurea or albo versions?
Ever since I saw your Sarawak I wanted one. I have ended up with a cutting and a plant of what is considered Sarawak here in Canada, and I also have a Latifolia, but not the dinner plate version you have. So cooool 🥰🥰
Yeah, you defniitely have had a Hoya Mathilde in your videos before. Not sure which one, but you've definitely mentioned it before.
Hahah oh dear I wonder what happened to it 😂
How do you have them wrapped up? I’ve never seen that
Looked like a good event, you may wish to grow the lillies outside in a greenhouse as they literally smell like death ..luckily they will take years to mature ✌️
Ah, thanks for the tip!!
To anyone who was at the swap: is it for any type of plant (i.e. not just rare ones)?
Only because I'd be interested in attending though some of my plants are fairly common!
One tetrasperma is tissue culture and the other is not
I’ve never seen a plant swap.
Hello Claire! How can I get in touch with you and Emma? Sent you FB message…
