This is a temperate rainforest.Temperate rainforest ecosystems are even more fragile than tropical ones.And, unlike tropical rainforests, temperate ones are rare around the world. In Japan, only yakushima has a relatively complete temperate rainforest ecosystem.Humans should work harder to protect temperate rainforests, just as they do in the tropics.
I live here in Washington state and once I had a weird but relaxing dream because I found myself in a moist area like this
We are not working hard to protect tropical rainforests either.
we are here in the NW. oregon has a lot of protected national forrests and a lot without any logging activity. theres trees and plants everywhere and i love it

Unsurpassed natural beauty....
I've been there the, Olympic Penninsula, it's an incredibly beautiful place. The Hoh Rainforest is so incredibly green during the summer. I love the nursery logs which comprise of fallen, dead trees providing a habitat, an opening in the dense, lush, forest floor, enabing seedlings to take root and receive light and nutrients otherwise deprived due to ground cover.
Im so glad I was born in the pnw, I love it here
The temperate rainforest gives a magical atmosphere that makes you feel like you are in a fairy tale forest

Love all the moss growing on the trees, how the trees also slant into the road. Love seeing the rain drops upon the lake. Once again great job! :)

Breaks my heart to see this. I grew up here, and when I was a girl, you couldn't see the sky through the trees. Then they went in and logged it. So sad to see it right after, but better in this video.
Barbara, I grew up there also(live in Seattle area now) 92% of the peninsula is protected. They only log along hwy. 101.
Go about a mile up the Hoh trail to Tom Creek, looks like a park (pardon the pun) That area has never been logged. BTW the fishing is great there to.
I searched for this because from books I've always been fascinated by Olympic forest. I bet there are more nurse logs here than anywhere else & the most moss on trees outside of a Louisiana bayou.

Yes I've been there... gorgeous place.. just nothing quite like these old northern hemisphere forests. Especially the european, the US redwoods... mmm love em.

@@milosh9k daintree is more of a tropical rainforest. this is temperate. or "cold" New Zealand has lots of these kinds of forest.
sorry but no this type of temperate forest is only unique to this region called Pacific Northwest which is mostly on USA But also some part in Canada on the border

Cities and towns will pay good money for little sizzle reels showing off the beauty of the area. With a decent drone and an eye for lighting, I bet this guy could make a living just traveling around and selling town websites his videos.
