Little by little and persistence you'll soon be able to see all the old Byrd Farm probably for the first time in many years.Glad Aaron came by .He has been pretty sick since returning home.Sure hope he and his family is doing better
Man you need the Boy Scouts, there’s got to be a Land Clearing Merit Badge that the whole troop could get an award for helping you! 🤣 Keep up the good work, just keep picturing in your minds eye what will look like when you’re all finished. 💪🏼 God bless 🙏🏼🇺🇸
Ir is going to be interesting toi see just how fast that grass seed takes hold. You've done a heck of a lot and like a true trooper, you will see the task finished re clearint the farm of unwanted vines and bushes. You keep posting, and I'll keep watching.
My parents took n an old farm house in the UK when my sister and me were small kids. Over many years they restored the house and some 50 years later my mum is still living in it. Its very different from this one, the walls are big blocks of solid sandstone 18 inches thick, it was built in the early 17t00s. Good luck sorting this gem out. 2x. 👍
@@deborahdanhauer8525 It is nice, thanks. But not a lot of head room, the doors are 5 foot 7 high. The amount of times I banged my when I was growing up. 🤣 👍
@@dcallan812 yeah, I think people were smaller then. Either that, or they didn’t want high ceilings to have to heat them. But didn’t that make it feel cozy inside? My Grandmothers house was an old log cabin with low ceilings and it was cozy. I loved it in there.❤️🤗🐝
Well Robert, it always looks good getting more and more that wisteria burned away. Nice to see Aaron I bet he was surprised to see how much you have cleared away, love your videos.
It's crazy how much I love these fire videos. Can't wait until you can mow with a rider & not have to use a bush hog. You're doing a brilliant job Robert.
Bah wisteria. Bah privet. Burn those monsters. That oak trunk will be coming down soon, or perhaps it already has. I have the same problem with sprouting privet roots. I try to take out the whole length when I see a sprout. Aaron, it's good to see you on the Byrd farm. I like your mountain farm channel and your mama's, too.
That camera sure picks up the sound of that fire amazingly well!---I can't help wondering why, of the 2,000+ viewers, only 459 of us have hit the like button (at the time of my viewing)?---Don't we have an amazing variety of music in America! That last, as you were seeding, was terrific!
Lovely to see Erine with you there. Great to see the wisteria getting it's comeuppance 😁 terrible how it strangled the poor tree to death! Good to hear the fire wizzpopping X
What is it about watching a back yard fire like this that is so soothing? I guess it is knowing that all that work will create a beautifully clean area for new use.
We were driving into town yesterday and noticed Wisteria blooming in several locations along the way (Old Homesteads). Even in one of the small towns about 12 miles from us there was Wisteria right behind the burger joint we ate at. Funny how I never really paid any mind to it until this year, lol. It's really pretty and smells nice. It's a shame it's so invasive.
great to see you and Aaron together, and having the bon fire of wisteria! up north it is invasive, but not like in the south with the long growing season. but it is very fast growing! have a great day.
You are gaining the upper hand in the P/W war. All the nutrients you are putting back into the environment, not to mention, the absolute joy on your face as you burn that wisteria & privet! I'm the same with blackberries, chickweed, and other noxious weeds here in the PNW. Keep up the amazing work Robert.
Good fire!! Good to see you and Aaron having some time together.👍😁 Looks like spring is going to keep you busy, always lots to do on a farm. Are you planning any new chickens or animals for the farm? Where's Jerry? Where's the garden going to be this year?🤔🤩Love from KY!!💞
Don’t think you could hear me but I was cheering you on when you were going after that Pivot bush. By golly you got it! Yeahhhh! It’s really n truly looking so good. I can envision what it’s going to look like when all that nasty wisteria vines are gone n Pivot hedges too. It looks awesome in my vision. It’s been hard work but it’s showing many rewards. ♥️😊👍🌟🌟🐶
Thnx for letting us ride shotgun. Cool to watch u knock that crap over up close & personal. When u were bumping the smoldering tree .. I was like yes knock that sucker over. But yeah u just don't know if huge chunks will break off & fall on U but I sooo wanted to yell timber on that one .. lol. Hopefully soon it'll fall like u said. Man it was so good to see Aaron with U Robbie .. that handshake said it all❣️I'm sure u two miss each other & all y'all's brotherly shenanigans. Oh btw .. B4 u put us on the tractor with you .. the camera was getting very blurry .. do t remember it doing that B4. Anyway b safe & well .. hope you & Aaron were able to spend some quality brotherhood time together B4 he had to leave. Take care 😊👍🏼
Robert, It seems like it would be easier to burn as much as you can of that DAMN WISTERIA and the Privet first and then use the tractor to get it up. You're doing a great job though, the Old Byrd farm is really looking good
Yes. - Fire, fire burning bright. What sweet revenge for all those wounds received. Still lots of water lying about and boggy. HEY, Aaron! Good to see down from the mountain, visiting. He ain't no Hill-billy, that's for sure.
Have been watching you clear the land from the beginning, and what a change! These are my favorite postings to watch, as we can see a huge improvement in each posting.
You might want to check on all your other vehicles as anything living in the barn or areas burned may have moved to them for shelter. And under the house.
It looks like you have reclaimed another acre!! I was just about to ask if Aaron would be coming back to help you finish the smokehouse this spring/summer. Is it aired out yet? 😄 👍👍
It's a wonder you don't get poked in the eye 👁driving through that tangled mess of wisteria! What a mess it makes! I like that you are seeding an area, hope springs eternal.
I love the guinea cacophony in the background of your videos. I have 3 silver guineas but they cannot free range with coyotes in the area, so I enjoy listrninh to yours. Glad to see the wisteria decreasing on the farm. Have you figured out where the bog originates? Hi to Aaron! As always, Robert, you are amazing and making great progress!
Robert since you've been doing all this clearing have you noticed if there has been a big difference in the ground drying up faster after a rain then it did before. Just wondering since you have so much trouble with the water in areas
That ground is wicked with all those vines sticking out everywhere. Having lived on the Canadian border all my live I've never seen anything like that.
Robert , I had on my Support your Local Historian shirt and a man came up to me and started quizzing me on Kit Carson history .. 😂😂 Dude , I'm not a historian , I just support them 😂😂
To put the sprouting ability of privet into perspective for those who are not familiar with it, I once stuck a green limb that I stripped all the leaves off of into the soil to mark a pawpaw seed I had planted. The privet limb started growing leaves before the seed sprouted. So now you know.
Maybe you can find ORobert, (other Robert) and ask him to bring his “weight on a rope” and hook onto that burning tree and pull it while you push it with the tractor. Would that work to make it fall on that pile of brush maybe? Just a thought…❤️🤗🐝
I just purchased some wisteria for the house. Granted I did stupid amounts of research and ensured I purchased a US native plant. That stuff from China scares me.
Your brush hog is hanging way, way low on the right again. Maybe you should have that jam nut welded in place or something. A push-type broadcast spreader would be good for spreading that winter rye. That would ensure even spreading.
It’s true, it’s true I tell ya!, if you say his name 3 times he appears!!!! ( That and the Dentist is better down in Georgia than NC!) Also I’m still waiting on the Deuce and a Half to be uncovered what with the fire and clearing of acreage you been doing. Are there anymore sightings of the Skunk Ape over by the grill of death I saw in yesterday’s vlog?, I hear he’s partial to Hillshire Farm’s Cajun Style Andouille Smoked Sausage and some sweet Vidalia onions and tater tots…..or so I’m told. Keep a eye out for him and the fires smolderin , we’ll be checkin in on you and the Old Byrd Farm hopin for a sighting tomorrow
Out of curiosity, do goats eat privet or wisteria? I know they can be used to clear weeds, etc. off land but man, would it be helpful if they could help you out here...
More burning and clearing…

Hi Robert can’t you place a hook on the back of your tractor to rip the wisteria roots at least the ones on the surface
Be honest... you're having FUN now ! 🔥🔥 Wisteria is the Boa Constrictor of the Botanical world

Wow, what a great fire!! Can't wait to see what the property will look like as you restore it.
Nice to see Aaron out at the farm again. It was interesting to watch the ground steam. Great progress there and can't wait to see that all burn.
Yea!!!it’s looking so much better Robert you are doing a great job keel on burning 🔥

Ahhhhh! The snap, crackle, pop of dying burning wisteria! Rick and Joy S. From Northern Indiana

It’s great seeing Aaron there visiting and he has been busy with his dad
The destructive power of the wisteria continually amazes me! I'm so excited to see the inroads your are making with the wisteria and the privet.
Warmed my southern heart to see the wisteria burning. Driving around my neighborhood wishing I could save some trees that are strangling in wisteria.
I watch ya both all the time!
It looks like you have reclaimed another acre!! I was just about to ask if Aaron would be coming back to help you finish the smokehouse this spring/summer. Is it aired out yet? 😄 👍👍

Hey Robert, the top part of your smokestack is standing alone, just like a smokestack. 🤣
Hi Aaron, good to see you👍
I can appreciate you admitting it's a "pretty" plant even though it is destructive.
That ground is wicked with all those vines sticking out everywhere. Having lived on the Canadian border all my live I've never seen anything like that.
What a great area to metal detect after you get it the way you want it!!!
I think I said this earlier but spray diesel on that when it burns down some to keep it burning will help kill that stuff
So fascinating to see how the old oak tree is burning from the inside out. Down with wisteria and Robert wins sooner or later. Take care

Happy birthday! Great progress!
I just purchased some wisteria for the house.
Granted I did stupid amounts of research and ensured I purchased a US native plant. That stuff from China scares me.
Happy happy birthday 🎉🎂🥳
Nice to see Aaron at the OBF.
I would be tempted to walk around that area with a chain saw cutting the large wisteria vines around the base of those trees.
Cutting to close to the ground may dull the blades on chainsaw if you hit dirt and rocks or fencing that is hidden by wisteria and privet vines
When are you going to some more building work x
Check on to some Tordon after you get that cleaned up to keep it from coming up from the ground, kills it to the roots, but won't kill out the grass
He has said he will not use chemicals because his animals roaming freely
We ran cattle on our pastures and it didn't bother or affect them at all
The farm is looking soooo good
Happy birthday 🎂
Opening up a great deal. Wisteria is nice to look at when it's in someone else's yard. Will not be long before you have it all cleared
Happy birthday 🎉🎈🎂
Awesome !😁
Having in Ohio in the time I was raised. I cleaned grass, gardening, sheep, cows, donkeys, chicken.....and the farm goes old. I miss it. ❤
One Beaut, noisy and hateful fire to the westeria. It never stopped complaining. Looking forward to next burn, should be awesome. Great to see Aaron.

Need more hott fires Sir Robert
Burn baby burn damn wisteria !

No spraying to kill the roots? Just curious 🤔
Farm is In GOOD Hands✊💁🏻♀️💯
At least when the wisteria is blooming you can see where to attack next
I would bring in a excavator and just go to town on that plant. You have done a great job on that farm.
And that blue dress is back! Are you sure Monica isn’t around there somewhere 😂❤
That blue dress is the scarecrow to keep Pig Boy away from the Old Byrd farm 😂

Will it ever be gone? Can any artist use the twisted spiral pieces? Bet they can.
Too brittle to be of any use
