I feel like I should have been taught this before I was even allowed to go outside! Without listening to this you are significantly unprepared for any kind of relationship with another human being! Good thing we are learning to prevent further damage and help those around us.

I am very grateful to you for having created this channel. I am deeply interested in the work of Jung, but as I have recently become a father I have little time to study any physical essays or books by the man. These readings have been a great help to me, thank you.

This text is so dense, nothing is wasted, no line is uncultivated by the seed of archetypal knowledge.

A brilliant, almost layman's explanation of the superior "psychic," psychological philosophy.

Probably just me.... but I wish you had read all these works by Jung more slowly. I’ve found it tricky to digest... no sooner have I begun to understand or think about a statement or concept the next and next one is delivered at break neck speed. Think I’ll have to get my hands on the books.

IceThawing there is an Aion lecture by Edward Eddinger on UA-cam which outlines Jung's phenomenology in very basic terms. There also other anima and animus descriptions by Von Franz on UA-cam.
It is difficult to describe anima and animus because it is a multifaceted phenomenon.
But anima is the feminine instincts within a man, animus the masculine instincts within a woman. The anima and animus is projected onto the opposite sex.
For Jung anima was what he called the inferior function which men are mostly unaware of and is projected onto women in various ways, including things like mother, the beloved, the heavenly goddess and the cthonic Baubo.
So anima could show up as an erotic fantasy or attraction to the opposite sex. but also infantile feelings associated with the mother in early childhood which have been long buried repressed, denied, or projected onto transitional objects.
For example the great mother archetype was a mass projection onto the Virgin Mary gothic cathedrals in the Middle Ages, Our Lady. But also in the same period the cthonic projection also resulted in witch accusations and burning. Ironically many witches were later canonized as saints a generation latter, which gives an example how the projection is very culturally fluid and multi-dimensionale just as it is experienced privately in ones self.
The purpose of Individuation is to know these aspects of ourselves so we don't so easily project the worst and can sublimate the instincts behind the archetype. And provides a conscious protection from following mass movements that have only a collective mentality.

......I think my dad might be my mom. By Jung's definition that is.

I can't think of any better time to listen to or read the works of Jung. And I have a theory on this. Weed is a psychoactive drug, and, as many will report, it has the strange effect of reducing the users capacity to have dreams. The reason for this, I think, is that is somehow bridges the gap between the conscious and unconscious mind to a degree which brings a hightened awareness of unconscious contents. So the psychic energy that would be used to present you with symbols of the unconscious in your dreams is instead somehow expended during the high that weed gives you. This is why you understand things and think about things so much more deeply and creatively or even have incredible epiphanies while high as I have had many times. Terrence McKenna talks about this very briefly in a talk he did, I have no idea which one. But it's an interesting idea for sure.
