Tusk Festival 2017 - Brainbombs

- Brainbombs first release appeared over a quarter century ago yet somehow this will be their first ever UK appearance. Reticent to thrust themselves too often into the public fray and with a frankly niche appeal that lies strictly amongst those who like their guitar music to be the very darkest of dark, mention can nevertheless not be avoided of the fact that, at full tilt in those moments when Brainbombs forget themselves and let go of the despondency a little, there is a raucous, driving, irresistible groove to their music. Perhaps the despondency perversely adds to it, building in an abrasive layer of tension - like the way casual nonchalance can somehow make disco music so irresistible, Brainbombs’ air of not giving a feck how you find their music makes it all the more possessive. Other times of course and it feels like they’re repeatedly backing up and driving again into the same brick wall, and if you can see the pleasure in that, you’re going to love them just as much as we do.
And to this very day; no one is sure of how to move when you listen to them.
Saw them last year. People where slamming like crazy and stagediving
very proud to say i saw them in helsinki. i found myself in the same smoking spot as dan the trumpet player but i was too scared to say anything. he was so drunk he was clearly giving his all to aim the trumpet into the fucking microphone.
It´s brainboms man , you can´t expect the dude to be discusing pro biotics and other healthy supplements with the bassist, can you ?
@@saraivatoledo1842 absolutely not. it was everything you expected and more
@@simonh9987 Watching this already suggests a great experience .

True, the overall sound (mixing) of the video is rather tame for Brainbombs, but a friend of mine who attended the actual concert mentioned the band sounding amazing there.
nc l.a. thanks mate!
Confirmed. The sound live was utterly brutal.
I fuckin love this band.
real

RIP Des, king Ian, Myra, and Pete
Great set.
Holy shit this version of to hurt wrecks
Dark Hipnodic groove🖤‼️🛹🔪🖤

Pity you couldn't put them on for the gig in North Wales. Still bitter about that
FUCKING GODS

Is this straight from the board or something? It’s got such a weird sound to it
I don't understand the negative comments below...
Love the band. Why does Peter sing this way live though?
Never understood that either.
What u mean? Sounds like the record singing sorta
My guess is that he's either too fcked up or he just doesn't care enough to put in any effort. Probably both.
I think this way of (not)singing and his (non)body-language try to transmit the idea that they're not having "fun" singing these horrible lyrics. It's another way of making people understand that they are not trying to glorify murder, misogyny, etc. Bands like Brainbombs simply do the dirty job: they want to show you the world through the eyes of a serial killer.
tired, so tired
Unpopular opinion: so I recently discovered this band and I have to say, I absolutely LOVE the instrumentals. But since I’m recent to this genre, the lyrics are… surprising. Of course this is my opinion so I understand if you might disagree or not :)
Yes, it is meant to be. Its meant to make you uncomfortable and be a bit fucked up. And in my opinion it goes so well with those vocals that I think are best described as weak and limp, but hit so heavy exactly because of this. I also grew up with death metal so this is any other day for me, but this is way better in my opinion!
I've always assumed it's like rock music taken to its logical conclusion. Like you want a big riff, sex and violence? Well here's literally one riff and lyrics pushed to the point it's repulsive
Unsane goes in the same direction but a little bit more tame
when the hello kitty shawty listens to brainbombs her opinion is the correct one dont worry
@@ahua2151 truer words never spoken
What kind of genre is this?
Hard to say, they really are just their own thing. Most people will rope them in with noise rock i think but really it's just really cracked rock and roll. Like the stooges but a a good step wilder.
"ed gein-core"
@@smithywerbenjagermanjensen was gonna say its like noise punk
Adjacent to “pig fuck”, but English as a second language
Noise punk
I don’t get it
The singer looks very serious even though lyrics are just a joke
A joke?
@@felipeluan5682 Yeah, more like a black humor. You think he seriously wants to support r*pe and other stuff in his lyrics?
@@minari99 do you even know them personally? i really like their music but they have gone too far to be just a "black humor joke".
@@felipeluan5682 Very true. And no, I don't know the members. What you suggest their music is about then if not dark humor?
@@minari99 I assume it's done with pure transgression in mind. Sometimes people just want to create utterly repulsive things. That's a form of artistic expression yknow. Sounds comedic because of the vocal delivery the thick swede accent and the brainrot lyrics but I'm pretty sure they're doing it with a different attitude
black pill doing music
incel power xd
People that use terms like this are incredibly stupid. I bet you think you are some Alpha male and worship Peterson? What a pathetic cunt is the bitch who gave birth to you. Sound good enough for you, cuck? Snowflake? Such derivative simple minded stupid fucks all repeating the same verse.
terrible mix
This sounds corny in a pro club LOL. Go home and be family men. The guitars also sound wimpy as hell. I am embarrassed.
the mix was nowt like this at the time. guitars were excruciating at the front. but aye weird venue to see them in. or anyone for that matter
JONATHAN SUTCLIFFE couple of ales?
@JONATHAN SUTCLIFFE ok serial killer
@JONATHAN SUTCLIFFE yeah i love brainbombs i just don't post adderall rants in the comment sections. ps the serial killer was just a bit of banter no harm intended wasn't even thinking of peter sutcliffe when i posted that was just based off your writing style
@JONATHAN SUTCLIFFE I have Peter on facebook i'll ask him for u
