Shoes are a must. The right shoes make all the difference in the world. Also don’t run on trails during the deer rut, so I normally knock off trail running from mid October until mid February. I saw a muscle bound Buck running top speed through the woods three years ago and made the decision to stay off the wooded trails during the deer rut
Thanks, I just did my 1st run, I normally mountain bike, but trying out running, naturally I want to run in the forest so hence trail running, I've bought cheap shoe's to start with, what brand of shoe's are the favourites for you guys
If you have the opportunity to go into an REÍ and ask them. I’ve had some great conversations about the different aspects of a shoe and find exactly what I’m looking for
No matter what I do or don't do, the person ALWAYS jumps (and sometimes screams lol) I've tried everything. Early warning, calm warning, loud warning, quiet warning, multiple warnings, "on your left", "coming up behind you" like NO MATTER WHAT I DO they panic and jump. HAHAHAHHAHAAHA
someone tell me what do you do if you're running on the trail that is only wide enough for one person and you see another runner going slow in front of you with headphones on?
If they don't hear me, I just go above them, off the trail, passing them on their left. Have been moving off trail anyway when passing others since I choose not to wear a mask when I run, giving others plenty of space.
Well that's certainly the loosest definition of trail running. One step away from being a paved trail lol. If you need an intro into running THESE types of trails, don't ever consider actual trail runs.

Or just pack some heat and show that Buck who’s really boss. 🔫
With trail running, form isn't as important and you don't get injured as much because every step you use your muscles in a different way
I loved your video, you seem like a very genuine person 👏🏻👏🏻
love the improvement on the recent videos!

New Balance has always worked for me.
I love my salomons. Recommend reading Chris MCDougall's book, Born To Run. He's got some interesting info regarding shoes and it's a great read too.
Asics baby!
Saloman are good but if you need more 'cush ' , Asics are go !

1. Announce yourself before running up on a hiker who cannot hear you coming.
Yes, there have been numerous times in the trail when I hike, runner comes out of no where.
Lol no
@Skyler.G lol right? I feel that everyone should be keen on their surroundings. I am able to hear someone running behind me from feet behind - easily.

what about the occasional "bump" into wildlife?
Run faster
Carry bear spray
“Bump” the wildlife out of the way
Run with a partner who is slower than you are.
@@brianbaumann5389 It's "funny" because it's morbid.

Just search for "Trail running bag" and you will find it.
