Don’t mod the car at all. You talk about how it’s all factory original, then a second later you say “the first thing we’re doing is changing out the headlights with LED’s.”
Leave it factory, or you’ll (your dad will ) regret it.

Well leds are brighter. The stock lights are dull. Besides. Money isnt an object here lmao
If this car is truly 100% original, changing headlights takes that attribute away.
They can always put the stock parts back on if they're smart and keep them.
I agree he is bashing lowriders and custom 59's at the same time wants to change the headligths out to led. this guy doesn't even know the headlights are period correct and not cheap knockoffs you buy online most led lights look like dogshit in all impalas 1958-1965
59 Chevy Impala took me home from the hospital born in 1961 in NJ. It was My Father's car, it was Black with the red interior and no spare tire trunk which I don't like I like the regular trunk on the 59 and it was a black hard top, I think the 59 impala looks best that way. It was a real beauty. My mom had an early 54 Bel air old school coupe the grass green color with a white top another beautiful car. My first two cars to ride in through the 60's. Those were the days!!!
Gorgeous car, I love cars from the 50s, in my opinions it the best decade for car designs. The black with the red interior is a perfect combo. An excellent example of a car from this period, definitely a survivor. Great video

Watching this 5 years later. Beautiful. Glad it wasn't pimped and degraded with those stupid 20" rims and hydraulics. Stock hubcaps look fantastic, as does the whole vehicle.

I'd rather have the 59 Chevy more than any other car in your garage. Sure the other ones are more money, but this Chevy is pure Americana.

The u.s. stuff from the 50’s and 60’s are objectively the most beautiful cars on the planet both inside and out! Art on wheels aswell as time capsules that encompass a more generally wholesome mindset and a level of confident optimism of a different era to which is far superior when compared to what we are dealing with today.
Cars, music and fashion from the 50’s and 60’s is absolutely amazing and a pure delight.
Let yourself sink into those beautiful bright red seats and take in all of the chrome and colour and amazing style,, put on some chuck berry, little Richard or bill Haley and enjoy drifting back in time!!

I loved my 59 Impala convertible. It was my first car. Of all the videos I've seen on this model, nobody talks about the vacuum operated wipers. If you were driving in the rain and stepped on the gas the wipers would stop due to lack of vacuum. Otherwise, a great car.

My Dad (bought it off the showroom floor) had a 1960 Lincoln Continental which my brother inherited when he passed in 2010.
BEAUTIFUL 59 CONV. IT HAS THE 348 CU IN ENGINE WHICH WAS THE LARGEST DISPLACEMENT BUT THERE WERE 3 VERSIONS A 348 FOUR BARREL AT 250 HP AND 348 3 DUECES AT 280 HP AND A 348 DUNTOV CAM SOLID LIFTERS DUAL POINT IGNITION AND 3 DUECES.IT APPEARS THAT THIS IS A 348 280HP VERSION AS IT IS BUCKLED TO A POWERGLIDE TRANSMISSION THE DUNTOVS WERE 4 SPEED AFTER 58 AS THEY USED TURBOGLIDE AUTOTMATIC IN 58 ,THE POWERGLIDE WAS NOT STRONG ENOUGH FOR THE DUNTOV VERSION.

You will appreciate that white top in Ca. Sold mine in 1987 for 7K to a neighbor in Costa Mesa. I bought it in 1983 for 1800.00 283 auto ps pb Eggshell over originalTurquoise interior..Sold my Triumph Hurricane to buy it, and fly to Michigan for Grampa's 80th.

By far the best choice is a 59 convertible if you’re getting a classic Impala.
I had one just like this except for the continental kit and fender skirts. I was a teenager then and courted my wife in that car. I beat it to death and was lucky I didn't die in it. Congratulations, you have a great car.

Dad bought one of these new in 1959 from Girard Chevrolet in Philly, ours was beige with bronze interior, white top. You need to get the backup lights working, I'm deducting a point for inoperable backup lights. But a beautiful car and an example of some very unique American styling.

Have you considered upgrading the brakes? Lighter wheels and maybe radials. The nice thing about putting lighter wheels and radials, is that you can keep your bias tires and stock rims right in your garage. The brakes are another story.

You have the Buggati Veyron Vitesse, the Koenigsegg Agera RS, the Lamborghini Huracan Performante, the Chevrolet Impala. Not likely to be correct but, I'm guessing a Ferrari, most likely a La Ferrari. My reason for this answer is because it adds to your beautiful car collection and is one of the top brands for supercars etc, keep up the good videos coming!
When I was a kid 1960 the neighbor had a blue con. 348 tri 3 on the tree.

Identical inside except AC to mine I had about 4 yrs mine a white 2 dr HT White w Red int,348 P Glide.
Top line radio had chrome buttons rather than black which are in this car.

I know its not the Riviera haha i wish but im very curious. Congrats on the new ride. Sure the Zonda has been my fav car since 02 (im now 23) hypers are loved but my heart is with late 20s-70s muscle cars. Working my way to a classic one day. A black cruiser with white walls is one of the best possible combos on the road

AND A DUNTOV WOULD NOT CARRY A CONTINENTAL KIT .SO THIS IS NOT A TOP OF THE LINE PERFORMER .AND IT HAS AIR AND POWER WINDOWS; SEATS ETC.ALSO NOT A DUNTOV FEATURE.
