On behalf of a whole generation that, thanks to bands like this, knew what real music was, I beg you, please, never leave us. Needless to say, the entire album is sensational. Congratulations Evanescence.
What I absolutely adore when it comes to Evanescence is the empowerment in Amy's lyrics. I LOVE their old 90s stuff, don't get me wrong, but the lyrics were so depressing. There's a heavy sense of hopelessness and suffering in their older music (which has its charm, I mean, the b-sides or ''Origin'' are iconic and that's also the inseparable part of Evanescence's sound), however starting with ''The Open Door'', standing up for yourself, choosing one's happiness and healing became the main direction of what Amy was writing about. Even if the lyrics were about loss or pain, the main moral was ''I am going to pull through and no pain, no human will stop me''. Heck, the entire ''The Bitter Truth'' is about loss and trying to process this severe emotion, but it's also about being there for yourself, making healing your priority and standing up for yourself. Amy knows exactly what she wants, knows her worth and who she is as a human being, as a woman and as an artist and doesn't take anyone's BS. I admire Evanescence so much.

A mixagem desse álbum realmente não está boa, parece a da live no Rock Am Ring de 2003 deles. Não é por isso que isso quer dizer que o trabalho é ruim. Mas que até as demos deles tem uma mixagem melhor que algumas músicas nesse álbum.
